A Different Duet with some Humor

At the top is my card for the FS today, a CASE of sumtoy. Her card is below mine......I put it here so you can compare. I changed the colors, stamp and sentiment, added a ribbon, but kept the layout and the piercing. Inside it says "I gather it's your birthday". It has been raining here for days, and probably because of that I am very silly this morning. The sentiment is computer generated......wish I could find a stamp that says it, but had to settle for typing. You know certain things about me......I have a favorite color, and I LOVE funny cards. I hope you find humor in this. Whoever is doing the rain dance, you can stop now! Hugs.

Stirred, Not Shaken

A very simple card today......The inspiration for this card came from the bottle label. It gave me a chance to use my favorite color (of course!), and one of my favorite images, the Gibson Girl. I've wanted to use this sentiment for a long time, but couldn't find the right venue. I think this is perfect. I tried stamping it, but it just needed to be printed on the computer to give it balance. I hope you like it. Hugs.

DDC, LSC224 A Jay for Jay

Ah! Being back home is wonderful! My knees are killing me, my back is sore, and my hand is swollen from emptying part of the attic so Mom could have a place to put her decorations and dolls so she could put bookcases (which I put together...6 of them!) in her craft room. Now she has room to see her stamps. She will probably move them around for a few weeks until she get comfy, but now has a place for everything.
This card is for two challenges. First, for the DDC, Bev (beestamper) gave us a layout to follow with no other directions. Easy peasy. Join us this week by putting DDC in your keyword. I used this layout for the LSC today, the requirements were as follows: water and sand colors, with ribbon, piercing, and brads. The card needs a little explanation. It's for my DH, Jay, for Father's Day. He is a bird LOVER. We have all different kinds of feeders in our yard (and plenty of bird doo), and a place to put peanuts for the Blue Jays. They make a lot of noise, but are really fun to watch. They are VERY picky about which peanut to take....they shake them, and decide which seems fuller! Who says they are bird brains????? Anyway, this card really works for him......from colors to theme!
Thanks for looking, and hugs to you all.

Belli Challenge #67

I am so pleased to upload my first card as a Design Team member of the Belli Challenge! The layout is from Sassy Stamps, and was such fun to follow! Belli is looking to fill in a few new Design Team positions. Go to www.bellichallenge.blogspot.com for information. You will see the cards posted by the team for this week's challenge: Father's Day. Timely, right? Mine is here a little late, as I was away most of the week.
I love this SU set, especially because we have all the men in the family as summer cooks. The grill is their personal property, and we girls don't mind a bit!! I didn't have to have my arm twisted to use my favorite colors, and they seem to be just right for cookouts!
Please join us in the Belli Challenge this week, and think about being a DT member.

White Pearls and Hearts

Didn't think I'd have time to post today, but the CC was up early. The challenge was to make a one layer card only in white. I haven't dry embossed in forevah with my metal stencils, stylus, and light box, so that's what I did for this card. I traced the outline from a scalloped card, and cut it out of white CS. I really love the result. White only is so elegant. I hope you like it. I am off in a few minutes to Mom's to help her clean out one of her attics so she can have more room in the Craft Room for all her stuff. Big job, and NO ONE could do it alone. We have also enlisted the help of DH who will load up my van with stuff from 1959 that has never been unpacked!! See how big a job it is? Have a great week, be back Friday PM. Hugs to you all.

Beautiful Erin!

No card making......Mom arrived on Friday, and we did a lot of errands. Saturday AM we left early for my Uncle Paul's 90th birthday party in New Hampshire.......long ride, great fun! Sunday was my granddaughter's Feis (pronounced FESH), her Irish step Dancing competition! She of course is central in the picture in her beautiful dress. (If you click on her, the picture will enlarge, I think) Erin has just turned 12, loves purple, but her latest favorite is Teal! She competed for the first time in hard shoes, in addition to soft shoes for the Reel, Jig, and Slip Jig, and won medals in all four. By the time we got home, Mom, DH and I were very tired. We sort of watched the RED SOX lose, and were really bumps on logs. Busy weekend. Tomorrow I leave for Mom's for a few days...we are attacking the attic before it gets too hot. Be back on Friday afternoon. Have a great week. Hugs.

DDC, WT221 Heard the NEWS?????

WOW! Was this ever fun!! I combined two challenges today, and I hope you like what I've done. Anne (Itsapassion) Dared us to make a card that has real newspaper on it for the DDC this week. (Please join us!) Julia challenged us to make a card being creative with punches, etc., instead of stamps. I used the tag punch to make the shingles, and made a very simple chimney to show the paper on the roof, which is where it generally is, right? That's it. Hugs to you all, my dear friends.

Puffer Fish

Today I am starting with an explanation. This was a simple sketch, but for me it was nothing but trouble. Everything that could go wrong did, and a few other things did too. The glue I was using was VERY sticky...so much in fact that things got stuck down in the wrong places too soon. I ran out of dp, and had to piece it after it got stuck down to my cs, and I had to replace that too. The punch got stuck, I couldn't figure out how to cover up the holes in the button so they wouldn't show. I had only a scrap of the right color ribbon, and in the picture, it looks like it's now way near what I had in mind. When taking the photo of the card, the light was so awful I couldn't get a true color, or get the glitter to show up. I should have quit when the first thing went wrong! Now here's the final truth......I really like it!
Thanks for looking and putting up with my whining!! Hugs.

CC Baby Giraffe

Imagine my delight when Betty filled in for Emily, and posted the color challenge this morning!! No problemo!! RED works for me.......and added orange and green. I had fun with punches, my cb, and paintbrush. I hope you like it. We are awaiting the arrival of a baby in our family. My cousin Stefanie is due any minute, maybe today??? Glad it's not me!! We don't know what to expect, so a card with a giraffe in these colors will work for a boy or girl. Will keep you posted!

DDC Purple and Gold

I was up really early this morning, checking for the CC and the DDC. The CC wasn't posted, but the Dare was. Considering I'm a week behind, I thought I had better do the one I owed the group. The hostess for last week was Michelle (sf9erfan), who dared us to make a card with metal, 2 ribbons, and sponging. The sponging and the ribbons you can see pretty well, and I used a single metal brad in the primas. When or even if I decide to send this card, it will surely break the bank....thick with layers, and HEAVY!! The gold in the bg is embossed with French Script, and there's a bit of Baroque Motifs hiding in the bg too. I hope you like it. Off to PT. Hugs.

Layered With Flowers

I know, I know.......still no RED! {(Don't PUSH me, jojot!)} This card is a case of one of Roxie Glaza's beautiful cards. She was the FS yesterday. I love Roxie's sketches, and case her cards all the time. Mom was here for a very busy weekend, but we did find time to make a couple of cards, and this is one we cased on Saturday.......how fitting for the FS to have what we had cased!

Mom just went home. We entertained friends Saturday night, and had our youngest grandson John's First Communion on Sunday morning. There was a party afterwards, and then we attended part of grandson Tommy's Lacrosse game. About twenty minutes into the game, it started to sprinkle. When the sprinkles turned to outright pouring, the game was called. What we saw was such fun........I had never seen Lacrosse played, so it was very new to me!!

Today I am really tired. No sleep for days. Actually, I sleep, but only in fits and starts, so I never feel rested. Gotta get back to my neurosurgeon and see what more he can do for me. He mentioned cortisone shots in my neck, and maybe that's the way to go. Pain is radiating up on both sides of my head along the nerves. Wait!!!.......aren't these supposed to be the Golden Years???????????

Today we are picking up grandson Jake after school, and he'll be here for supper. His Mom has her next-to-last Track meet, and Dad has a meeting and a dinner, so Jake is ours for a while. He announced yesterday that he is 9 and 3/4! I guess every bit helps!!

I'll be reading and lying low today until Jake is here. Hope you are getting some rest too after a busy and fun weekend. Hugs to you all!

Smiling Frogs

The LSC today was to use patterned paper, no copic or other coloring media, and limited embellishments. How fab that I spent the day going through my paper, and reorganizing! (Took ALL day!) I had these two wonderful pieces, so I used them for the challenge. I have no idea where they came from, so I can't really give anyone credit. I only know the ribbon that is printed with "smile" came from T. I added a charm to the ribbon and a few brads. Now that it's done, I'm not so crazy about it. Maybe the charm is out of place and should just be removed. Maybe you should see more of the plaid.......but I hated to have less of the frogs. Comments and criticism please!! Rain, rain go away.......bring us all a sunny day! Hugs to all!

As Time Goes By

The WT today is to use buttons........of which I must have MILLIONS!.......but I never think to use them. My son Paul and his wife Debbie are shortly to celebrate an anniversary. Their favorite movie is Casablanca, and so this song from it, "As Time Goes By", is perfect for them. I just happened to have this fabulous clock button in my stash (how cool is this!), so the button combined with the word stamp made the decision as to color. Not my first choice, but I think it goes together well. Thanks for looking, and have a great day. I'm off to PT, and will be back to comment on your gallery and blogs later. Hugs to all.

A Single Flower for the DDC

Today has started off VERY strangely.......DH said it was barely sprinkling, and that I should get into the hot tub and get some work done on my feet. As I stepped out the door, it was pouring. I thought, what the heck, and stepped in anyway. It felt lovely, but I was really wet with 2 different temperatures (the rain is pretty chilly!). I came in for coffee, and a check of the Sketch Challenge.
This is the result....and I used the Dare posted by LilLuvsStampin (Charlene) to catch up on what I missed while I was away. The rules this week were: paper piecing, piercing, and black, rose, and Kraft paper with Sage optional. These colors sure work for me!
Today is the big grocery shop day. DH is having his yearly checkup, and will come and get me.....I have been promised lunch out. Who could resist? It's supposed to rain all week (got this from you Southern gals, right??), so yard work will wait. So will just about everything else.....no cleaning or baking on rainy days!! Just reading, crafting, watching baseball games, and generally having fun. If it's raining where you are, skip the work. I give you permission!
Hugs to you all.

The Simple Things

I was really reminded about enjoying the simple things in life this morning when I got a phone call from my daughter. She was on her way to work, so we had about ten minutes to catch up. I am not a person who likes to talk on the telephone, but I sure love to hear from my kids. Their lives are so busy.......we don't get together as much as we used to, so a conversation one on one is fabulous!!
My card for the Color Challenge today is not one of my best efforts. I just noticed the small punching got stuck a little. I wanted to do a splash of pumpkin on one of the words, and forgot to do it. I hope this is not an indication of how my day is going to go.
Had a beauty of a migraine last night......guess we are in for the rain a lot of you have been getting. Our garden has exploded into lovely color, and some rain would be welcome (just not a week of it!)
I feel like I'm back into the life I left before our vacation....and I'm going to try to follow the simple life for the summer. Hugs to you all.

Making Up For Lost Time!

Two in one today for my first day back home...for the TLC, a Hinge Card (fun and easy!), and a catch up on the DDC. Fran (Francie G.) dared us to make a card with a water theme. I had this wonderful umbrella sticker that was just right to fit on the hinge card, and I cb'ed the bg in bubbles to keep the theme going. Inside it is stamped with the little umbrella stamp from SU that says "showered with love". This will go in my stash for the time being (as if I need another one in my stash!!!). Hugs to you all, and have a fun day!!

A Card-Making Frenzy!

Here is the proof that I have been on vacation for two whole weeks!

Mom and I spent each morning making

a variety of cards, as you can see!

We brought the makings of Halloween and Fall, but of course we ended up buying a few more stamps and paper and embellishments (oh surprise!!).
It was little tough taking pics of these on a really dark day, but I think you get the idea of what we were doing. In addition, we were able to eat and shop and watch baseball..........all in all, a really fun time. DH and I go back in November........I think I'll do my Valentine cards then. I'm glad to be home. Hugs to you all!

On Vacation!

Mom and I (and sometimes DH) are in NH at Lake Winnepesaukee enjoying not having to do anything special. Mom and I are just about done making our Halloween cards, and are doing Fall cards too. We have brought more stamping stuff than food, clothes, you know the drill! We go out for a sizeable lunch every day, then snack in front of the TV and watch something idiotic, or a ball game.
DH has left us his laptop, but no ability to photo the cards we have made......later I will post a picture of them all grouped together. (I'll probably have to take the photo from across the WORLD to fit them all in!!!)
I have had fun looking at what has been posted on your blogs and on SCS, but haven't taken the time to do much more....we've been too busy making a big mess in the vacation craft room.
Today I am going to Stamping Memories in the Belknap Mall to meet MARY ANDERSON......how cool is that??? Her blog stated that she had recently fallen off the wagon, and I think we should get together and *sigh* commiserate on how little $ we have left!
Hugs to you all, my friends.......be home by Monday, and back to some serious stamping with my NEW STUFF!!!

May 12th, Kite Day

It's 2 AM, and guess who's not asleep! Thank goodness the challenge was posted. This was a fun one........choose a holiday in May and make a card about it. I found May 12th was Kite Day, and since that's my 65th birthday (YES! I'm officially OLD!), that's what I chose. Also, I had this fabulous FREE digi stamp from Dustin Pike.......he offers a freebie every Wednesday on his website. I love the look on the dragon's face, and there was plenty of room for clouds. The blue and green jumped right out, and you can figure out the rest. I played with the gel pen on the dragon and also the corners.

I will be commenting in the REAL morning after I get back from the podiatrist (see? I said I was OLD!) and have my fascitis checked, and then I'll pack up my stamping stuff for two weeks vacation. (A few clothes, lotsa stamping stuff!) Be back on the 25th, rarin' to go with the challenges again.

Thanks so much for checking in here, and happy Mother's Day hugs to you all.

Kraft is Kool!

This is not my title. Kraft is Kool was the title of the WT at SCS today, hosted by Julia. I had a harder time thinking of what to call this than I did making it! I started with what was already on my table, and used a few things I never think of: my crimper, my sewing machine, and versamarking the bg. I forgot to mention I used my bone folder for curling the leaves, and a new EK punch when I listed the details in the gallery. Oh well! Attribute it to another rainy day.

If you have a chance, go to the gallery and wish Joan Ervin a Happy Birthday.......this is her day.
If it's raining where you are, smile. If the sun is out, dance (and send some sunshine MY way!). Hugs to you all!

Flowers and flowers and flowers for the Doubledog Dare Challenge

This card is for the SC, which I really liked, and also for the DOUBLEDOG DARE CHALLENGE! This week's hostess is Joanne (sleepyinseattle). She dared us to make a Mother's Day card with LOTS of flowers and some sparkle. I think this qualifies.......my dp is all flowers and I embossed eggplant paper in silver using the flower from Embrace Life (SU). For sparkle, I added gems to the flower centers, and I consider the embossed silver to be sparkle too. I hope you will join us for this fun DARE.......please enter DDC in your keyword so we can find it.

Oh No, It's Morning!

You know, I really don't do mornings well. I used to be a night person, but now I'm not good at any time of the day or night!! I posted this card for the SC today on SCS, dashed out to do errands, and got back sooner than I expected. Now I'll have time for breakfast, picking up (UGH!), and cleaning up the mess I made making this card. I bought this stamp over a year ago, specifically because I thought it was so funny! The face on the lion really kills me! Finally I had a chance to ink it up. I hope you like it.

I'll be posting for the next two days, then off for two weeks vacation. DH will be joining Mom and me when he can......this is a busy season for his Track and Field officiating. Mom and I will be crafting, and hitting the few remaining stamping stores in central NH. We'll also be going out for lunch every day, and tooting around in general at a few antique shops. This is when we get a start on Fall cards, and the majority of our baggage is stamping related, of course.

Have a great day. It's gray and overcast here.......supposedly for most of the week. Good weather for making cards, right? Hugs to you all!

A Blossom For You

A fast card this morning for the CC on SCS. The colors are Cameo Coral, Garden Green and Ballet Blue. I love using the markers to "paint" the stamp, and also to use a template to make clouds. Luckily, the template I use is clear, so I can see pretty much where to put the clouds......but occasionally the branches get in the way! I am off to PT this morning.......be back to check out your beautiful cards a little later. Have a wonderful day, and hugs to you all.

Simple Pleasures

Embossed Wax Paper Resist is such a fun technique! Besides, it gives me a reason to own an iron!! DH laughed when he saw it on the counter this morning.......he said, "Oh. I see you're doing the challenge today!" He knows me VERY well!! I used a digi stamp from Hambo Stamps. It was free, and the result of looking at glitterbabe's blog (thanks, Stef!), where she had posted a card using this digi. I thought it was cute, and my mind went right to the cb Tiny Bubbles folder.

My simple pleasures in the summer revolve around the pool, a cool drink, a book, and grandkids and kids enjoying it with me. DH prefers the shaded porch, with an occasional dip to cool off. SIDE STORY: When we were first dating in 1961 (WOW!), he said he would pick me up for the beach. I packed a nice lunch, radio, blanket...you know, what you would take. I got things all out on the sand, he ran into the water, came back on the beach, and said he was ready to go. I found out what he thought the beach was for..........swimming. Last time we went!!!

We have just opened the pool, and it is green, COLD, and I am NOT in it. In fact, I don't go in until the water is 80 degrees. Until then, I am content to use the hot tub, and bask. Only the little kids go in when the water is not so warm........apparently it doesn't bother them so much!!
Our plants survived the winter, and we are slowly getting some needed yardwork done. It's supposed to rain most of the week, so not much will get weeded. I guess I'll have to be in my craft room. Oh Darn!! LOL! Have a wonderful day!!

Mother's Day Card from my sweet Erin!

The mail just arrived. Look what came.......My sweet granddaughter, Erin, (age 11) made a special card for me! I wish you could see this. IRL, the flower has been painted with H2O's, and has the most beautiful golden sheen to it. She knows my favorite color, and used it as the background and for the flower. I wouldn't have been surprised if she had made this card in Teal and Purple (her favorites), but since she used RED, I take it as a real compliment!! Thank you Erin! You are so very SPECIAL!

Down Memory Lane

There is a story involved here. My eldest DS got aJohn Deere tractor for Christmas the year he was three. It was from my parents, and we were at their house for the holidays. that morning, he stood at the top of the stairs and could see it with a big RED bow. He yelled, "Hey Grampa! Wait'll you see the son-of-a-gun-of-a-big-tractor santa brought me!". Since then, that's what we have always called them. I think this would be a perfect card for him, even though he's 44 now!

An Adventure!

This is Jake, my 9 and 3/4 year old grandson. He and I had quite an adventure yesterday! His mother had an away meet of her Track Team, and Dad was in a meeting, so Buppa (his Grandfather, my DH) was to pick him up at the end of school. A call came for Buppa to tutor, so Mimi (that's me) went to get him. He forgot.....and got on the bus. I panicked when he didn't show up, and went to the office, where they contacted his teacher (who lost his note, and also forgot!). They gave me directions to find the bus, and 20 minutes later, we found each other. PHEW! as we were walking to my car, he started to cry, and as I rushed to comfort him, I tripped over his rolling book tote, and made a perfect 3 point landing (both hands and one knee). Now he really was upset, but I told him I was fine, and we left. I thought to make up for the things that had gone wrong we would get an icecream sundae, but when we got to the DQ, it was mobbed. So....back to my house, where I made Jake a sundae of: butter crunch, choc. sauce, sprinkles, swedish Fish, and caramel. I, on the other hand, had a glass of wine. What an adventure! Today I am sore in places I didn't know I had. I hope to play after my dental appt this AM. Have a great day if this is my only post!!!

Black and black...and oh yeah, RED

Today's challenge was to make a black card. Well, you know I use black a lot, but never just black. White goes great with black, but then again, so does RED! I know, I know. You are totally shocked! If you scroll through my gallery, you will see that I am telling the truth! I was so glad to see the WT......knowing my favorite color would be allowed!

I love the quilted look. I am no good at quilting, but I have an Aunt who is FABULOUS!! She will like this card for sure.

Thanks for joining me here today. Have a wonderful, fun, creative afternoon. I'm off to pick up my WEIRD DGS (4th grade), so I'll be back later to comment. (I went shopping after my PT appt.....got some new Tim Holtz stuff I'm dying to try out. CU!!)

Scooting Through Paris

I just got this Amuse stamp of the girl on the scooter. I thought it worked for the SC today...I had to turn the sketch sideways to make it all fit. The purple and blue were on my desk......so was the cloud template. It all fell together. Thanks for looking. Hugs to you all.

DDC and CC for Mother's Day

Joan (joan ervin) is this week's hostess for the Doubledog Dare Challenge. She dared us to make a Mother's Day card and include a piece of clothing. Not only does this fashionable gal wear a beautiful dress, but I stamped the image again and cut out RED gloves to add to her outfit. (Please feel free to join us in this challenge.......put DDC in your keyword.)

This card will go to my Mom. She is a girl from the 20's. How perfect is that? And she is truly as beautiful today as she was then. I combined the colors from the CC by adding olive to the flower center, punched leaves, the stems and leaves of the flowers in the collage, and even eye shadow (if you look closely!) My mother loves these colors too. I think she will really like it.

Color Challenge!

I love Crystal Effects! I had to take this photo on an angle so you could see the shine on the raised olive. What a fabulous color combination today with RED (my FAVORITE!), black, cream, and olive! I had fun using a variety of punches, my Cuttlebug, and some great ribbon. I hope you like it.

I worked in the yard yesterday, sat in the sun and read, (finished Eclipse), and was in and out of the hot tub. The pool is uncovered now.......the awful color is due to IRON. DH is very unhappy. Hopefully, the BIG DOUGH spent on specific chemicals will work. Talked to Mom this morning, and she is getting her list ready. We leave for vacation on May 10th, Mother's Day, for two weeks. My birthday is always spent in NH, and DH gives me money to play with. YAY! Even retired people like to go on vacation!! I think it's time I made my list too....which stamps shall I take? Which paper? Embellishments? Inks? Punches? Will I have room for clothes?????

Have a fun and creative day, my friends. Hugs.

Sunday in my Addict...um...Craft Room

This morning I completed the rest of the VSN challenges on SCS. We left yesterday afternoon for dinner at friends' house, so I missed those posted from 6 to 9 PM. I had a lot of fun making these, and I hope you will check out my gallery for the deets. I think if you click on the picture it will enlarge so you can see each card better.

DH and #2 son are opening the pool today. I am NOT a helper. There really isn't anything I can do, so I stay out of the way. Besides, the water could be the home of the Creature From the Black Lagoon, in addition to being yucky green/black. Tomorrow or the next day it will be blue.....THEN I will be out there.Enjoy your day. Hugs.

More for the mini VSN

I decided to do two more for the VSN mini today. The second challenge was to do a card with gold, and that was really easy. The third was to choose one of the Beatles' songs from the Love album, and make a card to fit it. I couldn't decide, so ended up with a medley of my own choosing...Octopus' Garden and HELP! I think you can figure out which is which. The octopus image is new...from Fred Mullett, and I just love his designs! I thought it should really show up, so the cameo coral was my first choice. The gel fish, caught in his/her arms is very shiny.....and the sentiment seemed appropriate. A little crazy today. I am off to the hottub, the sun, and I am halfway through Eclipse. Edward is calling! Bye!

Bee-utiful Bear

Today Mom went home. After picking up a million things, I sat down to take a look at SCS, and discovered there was a mini-virtual stamp night going on. I may not do a lot of the challenges, but I decided to do the first. Blackjack was the name of the game, and each item on the card has a value. Mine adds up to 21! YAY! I made this bear a bee, and gave him stripes and antennae. He, of course, holds honey. Yay for honey too! I will probably spend a few times in the hottub, resting my sore feet, and enjoying some really warm weather...YAY again! Thanks for your comments, and for joining me here and at my SCS gallery! Hugs, and have a wonderful day!

RED (of course) Lilies

The LSC at SCS today was to use the colors of a room in your house. All the walls in my house (with 2 exceptions ) are white. My favorite color you know is RED, and I have a room that fits. The fact that it happens to be a bathroom determined that I would use the cb of Tiny Bubbles. Actually, the walls are white there too, but everything else is RED. I also got a chance to use my new set of Nesties Labels. Aren't they delightful??? I love these beautiful lilies, and felt like doing some cutting this morning...and there you have it...no surprise, is it???? Mom is here, and we are having fun playing at cards, and tossing different ideas back and forth...always more fun to be crafting with someone else, especially when they think like you do!!
Have a wonderful day...Spring is finally here...things are sprouting, and tulips are getting tall. Hugs to you all.

Moon Maiden

Today is the "changing of the guard" so to speak. Samantha has gone home, and Mom is arriving with my other DGD. Erin has been staying with my mother for a few days, and it's really too far for her to drive, so we will take Erin home after lunch. We are going to the Chinese restaurant I took Sam to yesterday...can you OD on Chinese food???? Mom will stay for the weekend, and of course, we will play.
This card is for the WT , white, white, white. I love to make white cards! However, this stamp has been begging all week, and white just wouldn't work for this image, so gold seemed to be it. I love to emboss, and MS punches are so very nice...........I just popped the image up and added a beautiful white and gold ribbon. Hope you like it.
The rain is gone...YAY! Hope it's sunny and nice where you are.

Frogs in RED and green

We have had a fun morning playing with crafts in the kitchen. Samantha talked Grampy into making POPOVERS this morning. YUM! She had four of them, dripping with butter! We only get popovers when they are requested by a grandchild (or DIL Debbie!) Today we are seeing sunshine for a change....we will get outside after a bit, and are planning a trip to the all-you-can-eat Chinese Buffet (no dieting today!) This card is for the SC at SCS, and I had just a small piece of this wonderful frog paper, and how amazing! the bg is RED! Thanks for looking. Have a fun day!

Doubledog Dare Digi Puppies

Samantha is staying with Grammy and Grampy for a few days, and really enjoys making cards. She decided to take part in the Doubledog Dare Challenge today, posted by this week's hostess, Julia (artystamper). The Dare was to use this digi image from TwoScoopsRice.com. The image is free and can be gotten from the website if you would like to join in. Just put DDC in your keyword so we can find it.
My card is also for the CC today, using Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink, and Rose RED. I wove a paper background in gray and put it over Mulberry paper. Fun for a change, but I wouldn't want to do it every day! I also used my new Label Two Nesties, and you can figure out the rest.
We are having a dark and rainy day, so it will be a day of reading, watching movies, eating popcorn, and of course, picking up the mess we have made. I appreciate your comments to both of us. Have a good one!

In the tub

Mom is here, and I regret to tell you we have been bad. We had a 50% off coupon to our favorite ISS, and we went just to get ONE something. Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans......we left the store with a few bags of stuff. Really good stuff!! Yesterday, we got back home, and looked over our treasures, then began to play. We made two cards in the afternoon, (ordered some stuff online - BAD) had a glass of wine or two, and generally had fun. This morning, with hurting feet (for me) and a headache (for Mom), we did it again. Undeterred by our various ailments, we plugged on, an it wasn't easy, believe me! We did this card with one of the new stamps, and uploaded it to the FS gallery at SCS. A little humor when you don't feel A#1 is a good thing (thanks Martha)! Have a great day.

Adopt the Pace of Nature

The Limited Supplies challenge today was:
1 wheel
1 image stamp
1 sentiment stamp
1 embellishment
I hope the challenge police will count my button with the ribbon threaded through it as one. Everything else is right on the nose. I love this combination of colors, and the LSC gave me the chance to use a jumbo wheel from SU...haven't done that in a while! Hope you like this. Thanks for all your nice comments, and I hope you are having a happy day!

Embellished Frame

I took this picture, not so you could see the photo, but so you could see the rub-ons I just put on the frame. The challenge this morning was to do something with a frame. I thought, well, that's not for me! As I left my computer, I saw this heavy glass frame that I have had forever, and EUREKA! I had an idea. I have had these rub-ons from SU just sitting, and decided they would be just the thing. I really love how this looks now, and I guess it's not the LAST frame I'll be fooling around with today. If you look really hard, you can see my beautiful seven grandchildren as they looked last 4th of July. Now they are just a little older, but handsomer/prettier! (Do you think this Grandma is a wee bit prejudiced????? YUP!)
I spent three hours fooling around on this computer revamping my blog. If you have been here before, please let me know what you think. Is the bg too distracting? Do you like the additional RED I have placed in it? Should I go back to what I had before?
I am off shortly to PT for plantar's Fascitis...just something else, but really rather minor. Hugs to you all, my friends. Have a fun, creative day!

You're Grand!

Didja think I'd forgotten all about my favorite color??????? Well, here it is, with my other favorites. I am the hostess for the Doubledog Dare this week, and I dared the group to make a card in these colors. I hope some of you will join in the fun of the DDC....just put those letters in your keyword so we can find your beautiful entry on SCS! This was also for the SC today. I really love Wednesdays....and I love to combine the challenges if I can.
Went to the foot Dr. yesterday for the first time, and found out my heel problem is fixable. I'm off to PT again, and hope to be comfortable walking again soon. These may be the Golden Years, but I find myself at the Dr. and the Hospital more often than I would like! (Once is too many times, right?) I go on vacation in May for two weeks in New Hamshire with Mom full time, and DH part-time, and would like to be able to walk around! Cross your fingers.
Have a wonderful day. The sun is shining, but it's cold, and the wind blows. Spring, where are you?????

Here's to Happy Hour!

This is for the CC on SCS this morning. I had a little trouble with these colors, but now that it's done, I kinda like this card. It sure reminds me of a drink my DH makes for company (and sometimes even for me!)....equal parts of Frangelico, Buttershots, and Bailey's over ice. I can't remember the name for it, but it has come to be known here as the "party drink". Yummy! It's like having dessert!! I had fun with my cb and the backgrounds. Combining them on different colors was different and interesting...I think I really need to play with this great machine.
I hope you agree that the results today are worthwhile, and I think I'll send this card to my BFF in FL and ask her if she would like one (or two)! Have a great day.
