CCEE2005 International Hot Air Balloon Week

Lynn challenges us for her last of the month, to shake the gloom of Winter by filling the skies on our cards with bright and colorful hot air balloons.  An uplifting and encouraging sentiment would be a perfect pairing!

My Hubby and I went o Lake George for the Hot Air Balloon Festival last year.  What a colorful and exciting time it was, seeing as many as 50 up in the air at a time.  Some people even took a ride (but not scaredy-cat me!!).

CCEE2004 Ice, Ice, Baby, Ice, Ice

From Lynn:

" It seems to me I have been bundled up in sweatshirts and sweaters for weeks now! Baby, it's cold outside.  Let's see those icy creations!!  Add your glitter and shine to make some shimmery Winter beauties."

Where is the shimmer, you say?  Everywhere there is snow!!!

CCEE2003 Book Publisher's Day

Lynn's challenge:

"Create a card which features characters, a theme, or a quote from one of your favorite books!!  Bonus points if it is on the current best sellers list!!"

One of my favorite books is by Bram Stoker, "Dracula" in which the lead character says....."I don't do mornings."  The first time I read this line, it just cracked me up, so when I saw this stamp, I had to have it!

CCEE2002 Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Lynn says:

"In the United States, January 9th is a day set aside to celebrate police officers by thanking them for their public service and showing them support.  Let's help out by creating a card to thank these dedicated servants.  To spread the word, post your cards on all of your social media accounts!"

Little train ....

For the Inspiration Challenge at SCS today, I made this St. Pat's Day card.

This wall mural at Murale Design

.... got me to thinking of using my little train punch to make a card for March 17th.  I used an Amuse shamrock, Wasabi ink and paper, and stamped the date (Studio G) for the front.

Inside it says,

"We'll stop at O'Ryan's, O'Connor's, and O'Flaherty's for pints - You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning!"

CCEE2001 It's June in January

Lynn McAuley is our hostess for the month of January.

For her first challenge:

"Some of our fans may not realize that two of our CCEE Stampers Design Team Members are living down under in Australia.  Their seasons are the exact opposite of ours.  They have always gone with the flow and designed cards to conform to our climate.  Let's turn the tables this week and make some summery cards they can put to use right now!  Bring on the heat!!!

To me, nothing says HEAT like the desert.  I sponged the bg in lavender and tan, added some sunshine, and a cactus.  To base my cow skull, I added some barbed wire and some pebbly sand.  The skull was stamped and fussy-cut, and I added some flowers as a touch of whimsy.

Inside, my card says,  "Hot enough for ya?"

Monkey Selfie

Today I'm posting a Selfie card.  The challenge at SCS was to make a thank you card for something you received for Christmas.  My gift was a Skylight, a machine that uploads pictures from a phone or the 'net.  It can change the size of photos, scramble the order, and when I opened it, the family started adding photos so I could see how it was done.  Great fun

Hence the selfie.  We have a grandson, Tom, whom we call Monkey Boy, so since I'm sending the card to his family, I used the Curious George images and die cut tropical leaves on the front.  The bg paper is from Reminisce.  I think they will enjoy getting this one!
