CCEE1917 Trees

For her last challenge, Lynn asks us, as tomorrow is Arbor Day, to let a tree or trees be the star of the CCEE design this week.

Using stamps from SU, and Artichoke green and Kraft paper, I added a ribbon bow  I still think it's a masculine card, don't you?

Shades of Aqua

Combining the challenges this morning, I used the Stampin' Up set Bloomin' Beautiful.  The three colors are aqua, caribbean, and bermuda bay.  Such a pretty grouping of shades of aqua, don't you think?  I added some enamel dots to one corner, and scored some lines on the opposite side.

This card is being sent to a woman in OK who has had a series of awful happenstances, and needs some pretty cards of encouragement.  Inside it says,  "Hang in there!"

Thanks for looking, and have a terrific day, wherever you are.

Chicken and Eggs (CCEE below)

Today's SCS Challenge is to use EGGS.

Inside it says,

"I ordered a chicken and an egg off the internet to see which one comes first."

this card will go to one of our grandsons for a chuckle.

CCEE1916 Encouragement

April is the National Month of Hope.  Lynn asks us to create a card with a sentiment of encouragement and send it to a friend who is in need of a spark of love and hope in their lives.  Sometimes the smallest gesture can light that spark.

Great News and two cards.

Our granddaughter Sam called with great news - she has been accepted to Law School.  We are so proud of her.  She will join our DD, Amy, and her Aunt Catherine, in the practice of Law.

Here is her acceptance,

Here is our beauty with her Dad, our son David.

Now, here are the two cards I made for Monday and Tuesday at SCS:This one has a humorous saying inside (check it out on my Humor Board on Pinterest)

and this one goes to a lady in MD who has just gotten out of the hospital.  I just put it in the mailbox.

Thanks for looking.

Some Saturday humor

On this rainy Saturday morning, I added some humor to the SCS Gallery.  I was inspired by this image:

This is the card I made and posted to my gallery:

I kept the theme of cats, and used the colors that were in the inspiration piece.  I've had this image for a long time, and today was the day to use it.  The saying I printed on the computer is,

"You only live once.  You might as well be amusing."

Are these words applicable to me?  You bet they are.  Have a great day.

The Grass is..... (CCEE below)

Our challenge at SCS today is to use GRASS.  I happen to LOVE my grass punch, and use it all the time.  Here's my card:

I plan to make multiples of this card, which says inside
"But you knew that!"
for each of the grands, as each is my favorite!

Now, as to grass.............. ours is brown.  We are still waiting for Spring to bring us some green.  At the moment we are having our inground pool removed, so we will be in need of lots of sod or grass seed soon.  Rain we have aplenty, just need some warm sun.  All the rain has left us with a lot of mud, so that should be a good start for the seed.  Only time will tell.  This is what it looks like today.

Have a great day.  TFL.

CCEE1915 Book

Lynn says Friday is Drop Everything and Read Day.  her challenge is for us to create a design which features a favorite book, favorite character(s), or has a reading theme.

I went for a Fairy Tale book, chapters of which always begin with "Once upon a time....."

Inside it says,

"Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup."

If you join us this week, please link your card HERE.

Two cards again.

Our Tea Party recipient is the sister of one of our SCS friends, Pat (pvilbaum).  She has ovarian cancer, and can use some cheering.  I combined the colors of the Color Challenge (yellow, soft orange, magenta) in the card that is already in the mail to JoAnn.

In keeping with my humorous cards, I used the same colors to make my last Easter card, which will go to a friend in MN.  I made this Suzie's Zoo 3D quite a while ago, and I thought it was fun.  The sentiment is so appropos, when you consider I am MORE than slightly cracked.

Have a great day, see you later.

Monday and two challenges.

I love Mondays.  There are always two challenges.  Sometimes I combine them into one card.  Today's cards wouldn't fit into that mold, so there are two separate cards.

for the Clean And Simple:  Buds.

Had a little trouble with the masking, and tried to fix it sorta unsuccessfully, but so what.  Made a little joke.  Hope people get it.

For the Technique Lover's Challenge, we were to use patterned paper to make a scene (I am VERY good at making a scene!  OOPS!)

the saying is:  When is hibernation?  Because I'm 100% into that."

almost any day I feel like I could hibernate, especially during the Winter when I spend the day reading a good book and looking out the window at the snow.

That's it for now.  Off to run errands and finish the wash!

A Little Humor (is a good thing!)

After spending the past two days at a hospital (DD with chemo) and DH (carpal tunnel), I really enjoyed catching up on the challenges at SplitCoastStampers.

For the Thursday challenge, four of something, and for the Friday.......die cuts, here's the card that went for both:

The saying is, "Cuddly....or nutritious?

Friday's challenge was not read thoroughly.  Not the first time I've done this.  The dies were to be used creatively.  So I made another, this time a shaker card:

The saying is:

"Remember, it's Easter.  What looks like a chocolate-covered raisin might not be."

One of our grandboys will think this is funny.  Thanks for joining me here today.  See you later.

CCEE1914 Travel

Lynn is our hostess for the month of April.  For her first challenge she tells us:

Tomorrow is Read a Road Map Day.  Create a card which incorporates a map or has a travel theme.

Here's my card for the challenge, and I used BOTH a map and travel theme.  Do I get cookies????

The globe is a Tim Holtz die, and the stamps are from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for looking.  Please join us, linking your card HERE.
