THT037 Paper Piecing

Happy Thursday! Time for the Treehouse Thursday Challenge. This week's challenge is to use Paper Piecing in a card or project.

Do you think I took the easy way out??? Out of all the new sets that are being released today, I chose this one, Spring is in the Air. I just love this fat lady bug!! Her body is pieced in my favorite color - RED - and so is the rest of the card. I just got the BIG scallop circle punch, so I layered it with my others, and added a black ribbon with a lady bug charm tied to it. The panel tucks into the punched corners, and the brads hold it in place.

Be sure to visit, and see the new digi stamps. Please also check out what the DT has done, and when you join in, add THT037 to your keyword.

The Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge uses this photo of a Mexican resort, where our "fearless Leader" Lori, is spending her Anniversary with her DH!!

The colors are just so earthy, bright, and gorgeous, aren't they?? I took these colors and a wonderful image (Southwestern is close to Mexican, right???) from Rubbernecker for my card today.

I made a layout based on the decorations of the clothing (blanket? serape?). I just love this Native American woman. I dressed her in bold colors of yellow, blue, and green. She has a copper bead on her neckpiece, and copper beads on her belt. Her hands are open in a wonderful gesture that I took to be PEACE. With a copper pen, I faux stitched and added a sentiment. The bottom border is from EKSuccess, called Zig-Zag.
I hope you like what I have done. Please join us. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please add DDIC to your keyword so we can find it. If you go to my sidebar, you can click on the DT names to see what each of them has done with this inspiration piece. Join us here again in two weeks.
