Bees and Flowers (Chick card below!!!)

What a fun double challenge today........CAS, the great outdoors, TLC ticket! I started out with a really simple idea, and it ended up not quite so simple, but I really like it!
I used three different sets from Mark's Finest Papers:
Flowers: Greet the Day with Gerber
Bees and sentiment: Happy Pansies
Grass: Spring Has Sprung
We have more snow, Mom is sick again, and this card shows my yearning for Spring!! Have a good day. Hugs to you all.

Chickie and Big Cat!

Today our FS is Corie, and here are two cards I made to honor her. I hope you and she like them.

The little chick is made entirely with punches. Isn't it fun? I changed hers very little. I just loved it.......and it will be perfect for some little people I send to for Easter.

IRL, this lion is so much deeper in color.....just couldn't get a good photo! Snowing again, and that doesn't help. It sure washes things out with all the bright white!

Have a wonderful day. Mine will be spent indoors, looking at the snow. Yuck!!

Sweet Summer Damask

This is my entry today for the Inspiration Challenge. The site, Serena and Lily, was just full of beautiful things!! I chose a pink damask fabric to work with.

I spent a busy two days with DGS John. We had fun reading, computing, crafting, building with Legos, eating out, and just hanging out. He is ice fishing with Cub scouts today. Because his visit was so short, I promised him more days when he has time.

My $2000.00 (so far!) tooth seems to be holding its own, so if nothing else goes wrong, the next step is a crown. What's that old song...."That's where my money goes....."??? Better to laugh, right?

We had more snow last night, more tonight. I'm so sick of winter!! If you have any good weather, please send some here. Have a good day.

Lamb For Easter

When I titled my card today for the challenge (Grey as a neutral), it didn't occur to me that it sounded like dinner! Sorry. I hope you like all the paper piecing and punching. I had a really good time with it.

DH has gone to pick up our youngest grandson, John, who'll be spending a few days with Grammy and Grampy. If I'm among the missing here you'll know that we're just busy with the boy.

Spent two hours in the chair at the endodontist yesterday (another $1300.00!), and I'm a bit sore today, but hope this will be the end for a bit. I have another appt in 2 weeks. We'll see. Hope you're having a fun day. Bye for now.

Spring Cardinals

When DH and I were in the hot tub this morning, we were listening to the Cardinals calling to each other. Spring can't be so far away after all. My card for the Sketch Challenge was determined right then......and it never hurts to use RED! I added some texture with the Leafy Branch embossing folder, and made a base metal charm gold with some embossing powder. I hope you like it.

This morning I am off to the endodontist to see what the problem is with my root canal. The latest guess is that the tooth is fractured. I hope I get an answer today........and maybe it will end up fixed after all!

Rosey Pansies

My entry for the color challenge is a sliding pop up card and uses the faux pressed flower technique. Perfect Plum, Rose Red, and Always artichoke were called for, and I combined them in MFP's Happy Pansies set. I hope you like it.

I am back to the dentist today. The root canal I had two weeks ago is still infected, so I'll be in his chair for a couple hours this afternoon. I hope this will be the end of the pain. It's so hard to do anything else when your mouth hurts.

A Monday Two-fer

I love Mondays with two challenges on SplitCoast. The first card is for the Technique challenge, and was fun. I used a bunch of scraps and black, and I love the way it came out.

The second challenge was a Clean and Simple card, making your own background. Of course I had to use my favorite colors. I'm not so crazy about the bg I made, but I really like the ribbon and the flower. Clean and Simple? sure!

We have snow again today. DH and I took our coffee in the hot tub, and enjoyed the beautiful flakes coming down ever so gently. Of course we had to walk in it to get back in the house, but there was only about an inch or two at that time. Three hours later, it's still coming down, and even though it's pretty, it's time for it to stop!!! Have a great day!

Casing Cookie!

Our Featured Stamper today is StampGroover, better known as Cookie. Beside my card is hers so you can compare. I promised to make a card with RED, and even though I really liked her colors, RED was called for, of course.

My mouth is much better this morning. Good thing, as DS and family are coming for dinner and cards today. I have talked DH into grilling some steaks. The grill is NOT my job. (One of my MANY "not my jobs"!) Pilaf and veggie will be enough as my contribution.

The sun is shining, but only for a while. More snow tonight. YUCK! If it's nice weather where you are, please send some to us!! Have a great day, and hugs to you all!

Floral Branch

This card is for two challenges today, IC272 and Speedy's Friends (black, white, one other color and piercing). I hope you like it.

I had a TERRIBLE day yesterday. The infection that led me to a root canal last week did not respond to the antibiotic I was taking. My dentist had me in the chair for 2 1/2 hours yesterday, trying to drain the infection. I'm on another med, and this morning I woke up to almost NO PAIN! What a relief!! I'm taking a much stronger Rx, and between what he did and that, I'm making progress, FINALLY! Mouth pain overrides everything.

Now that I'm feeling much better, I'll be checking in at your blogs today. I hope you are having a good one!!

Train for Chase's Birthday

Above is the card I made for the challenge today.........a birthday card for a child. My Uncle Warren makes trains, and here are pictures of some that I have. (He also makes planes, wagons, cars, fire engines, etc.) He has a grandson named Chase who will be two years old. Of course, Chase loves trains, and plays with them with his Grandpa. This card will be for him..........it's SAFE. No ribbons, brads, or anything that will hurt him. He loves to carry cards around, so I had to make it CAS!

Thanks for visiting today. These are not the best pictures, and they were taken in a few rooms of my house, but I think you can get the idea. If you want to see them in a bigger format, you can click on them. Have a good one!!

5 Minute cards!

Two silhouette cards today, and each took 5 minutes. We are off to Mom's for the day, and are about to leave, but I just had to post. I think they both came out great........hope you do too.

Both are for the WT 310, and the pansies are for StampinB's. Have a great day.

Belli Challenge and Sketch too!

Here is my card for this week's Belli Challenge, FELT or FABRIC. Can you believe I had NO felt/fabric at all? Now I have an assorted package. I totally forgot about all the felt leaves and flowers I bought ages ago.........my brain has definitely leaked out!! I used a diecut for the lqamb, cut out the clouds, and after I had it all put together, the bg should have been part sky, not just a continuation of the grass. Next time.

I hope you will join us in the challenge. I'm sure you can find some stuff in your stash, since your brain is better than mine!! Join us again in two weeks for another Belli.

Below is my card for the Sketch Challenge, with a sentiment that comes from the heart!! I really need Spring!! I'll bet you do too. Thanks for looking.

Hoot! Hoot!

This card is going to the quadriplegic sister of a Teapot Tuesday GF, Fran. Marie loves owls, so I combined the Color Challenge with some owls to mail to her today. I used my sizzix branch and leaves, and MFP owls and charm. I think it's kinda cute.
The root canal yesterday went fine. I go back next Wednesday to finish, and it's a bit sore today, but it wasn't as bad as I had anticipated. DH and I still went out for lunch (I had fish, mashed potatoes and applesauce. Sounds awful, but it was good!). Today is really COLD, but we'll be out again. I was glad to have Spring-y colors to work with today....I'm really tired of Winter!
Have a awonderful day. Treat yourself to something fun!!

Scallops for Easter and Cheer Competition Winners!!

Lest you think I'm referring to the Easter meal, the scallops only mean the punching and cutting on this card!! Our FS on SCS is Charlene (Willow01), and her card I cased is in the upper corner so you can compare. Interestingly enough, it's also the Speedy the Cat's Challenge sketch this week! How COOL is that???Have a great day!

Now.......this just in. My granddaughter Erin's Cheerleading Team just became the #1 Winners for Middle School Competition!! Here are two pics: The first shows the team and their trophy, and the second, our Erin is the one with the thingy around her neck. What beauties these girls are!!!

Thanks for looking, and congratulations Mountview Middle School!

Get Well for Mom

Today I am feeling blue. Mom is feeling yucky. I had hoped to see her this weekend, but she called early yesterday to say she really needed to stay at home. This card is already in the mailbox, waiting for the pickup. I hope it will pick up her spirits too!
This card is made from the tutorial by Jenna Barber. I used scraps of different pieces of blue, and it went together so easily! I'll make more of these for sure.
Tom and Cheryl (our BFF's) will be here for dinner.........corned beef and cabbage.......and cards. DH is in Boston, officiating at a college Track Meet, DGS Jake just left with DS Paul, so I am, as they say, FREE at LAST!! Have a great day. To those of you who commented here for the MFP Blog Hop, thanks a bunch. Bye!

REDbird Sliding Pop-up

What a fun card to make....so easy (when you watch the video!!) I thought I was done with Valentine cards, but I guess not!! I like this design for a card so well I'll make a lot of them! And here I figured I was just letting myself in for more trouble. The tutorial is on SCS if you would like to make one too!

Masked Sunshine

A quick card for the CAS this morning. As soon as the traffic abates a little, we'll take Mom home. Had time for this one card. I'll check in with you all later today.

Duckie For Spring

For Lori, our Featured stamper, I made a case of her Tea Party card, changing the theme to Spring. This is a sneak peek of a new set from Mark's Finest Papers that will be released on Tuesday, with three other sets. This one is called "Spring Has Sprung". There will be a Blog Hop to show samples of the four new sets starting Tuesday, so be sure to come here and check them out!

Today, in addition to the Super Bowl, we are celebrating three birthdays with cake and ice cream......... and presents for DGS John, who has just turned 10!! We will also be hugging DGS Tommy, who just received the Arrow of Light, the highest award for Cub Scouts. Last night he bridged to Boy Scouts, and hopes to join his two Uncles (Paul and Warren) who are Eagle Scouts!!

Have a great day........ the sun is shining here for a change, and even though the water is still coming in the house, the level of the snow is going down (before we get two more storms this week). I'm so TIRED of winter!!! Bye!

Uncommon Birds

Here is the card I made today for the Inspiration Challenge. The website is called Uncommon Goods, and has wonderful and fun gifts, some recycled. I chose a lamp which I pretty much reproduced. Here it is.

Mom is here for the weekend, SU Demo today, birthday party and Super Bowl tomorrow. To those of you who made comments, David did really well with his surgery yesterday, and is home. Thanks for your well wishes.

Have a great weekend. If I don't comment, just know that I've been looking at your blogs, and will get back to you soon.

Box Arm Valentine and Get Well humor for David

This is the Box Arm card. It's a tutorial by my friend Emma Fewkes, and you can see her blog here.

I hope this card is okay for the challenge......because I really wanted to show off this fabulous and interesting stand-up card!

This is the next one I made:

This morning my DS David is having his gallbladder removed. If I can get this in the mail shortly, he'll get it tomorrow. I think it will make him chuckle.

The challenge was to use white and a neutral, and add one other color. I'm sure you're not surprised I chose RED.

Mom arrives today. We are expecting our SU demo tomorrow AM, and on Sunday, we're having a combined birthday cake and ice cream for DGS John and DH. It's also David's birthday, if he's well enough to ride here. We will be hunkered down for the Super Bowl with snacks, and rooting for neither team, since our Patriots are not in it! Have a great day!

Imbedded Tiger with Hearts

Here's a sneak peek of Big Cats, which will be released next week by Mark's Finest Papers. I used this wonderful tiger face for two challenges: WT308 (hearts) and Stampin'B's (Imbedded Image).

I punched out hearts to make the flower, and cut a teeny-weeny one to dot the i in Wild. The imbedded technique was invented by Toy (Holly), and is really fun. If you go to my gallery on SCS (in my sidebar), you can get directions.

Thanks for looking. DH has gone to the office, and I'm manning the drip buckets alone this morning. I HATE winter!!

Wishful Thinking (Belli Challenge Below)

This is the card I made for the sketch challenge today. I called it wishful thinking, because we all are SICK of winter. We have ice dams on the roof that are leaking between windows and forming ice there that has to be chipped every few hours so it doesn't overflow into the house!!! YUCK!

The image I used for the card is a sneak peek of a new set to be released next week by Mark's Finest Papers. It's called "Spring Has Sprung", and do I ever wish it would!!!

Be sure to look below for the Belli Challenge..........it has bling and lots of RED!

Creative Belli Challenge - Jewelry in RED!

I just adore the Belli Challenge. Please join us in using what you already have in your stash......no need to run out and get something new!! Our theme this time is JEWELRY. It can be real, stamped, put together, just whatever happens to work for you.

I made jewelry for the image on my card today. Of course, it had to be RED. You would have been disappointed otherwise, wouldn't you???

Join us by adding your card or project to Mr. Linky here and we'll see you again in two weeks.

MMTPT and the CC - 2 today!

First, this is for the Teapot Tuesday challenge.......Cherries. This card was done with the following poem (written by me of course) in the back of my mind.

I have a dear granddaughter
And she's a lot like me.
We both like eating cherries.
(They're RED as they can be!)

We like all things with cherries,
Especially for desserts.......
Of course they're always yummy,
And RED - that never hurts!

Drinks that have some cherries
Are ever on our mind.
Shirley Temples work for us,
And easy for us to find.

We like to add some cherries,
And juice of course for flavor
To ginger ale and orange juice,
The taste we really savor!

So here's to my sweet Erin
And cherries by the score.
When we have maraschinos
Who could ask for more!!!

I hope you like the card and poem, Erin. I have LOTS of cherries in the fridge, of course, just waiting for us!!

The Color Challenge today uses white, River Rock and Basic Gray. Here's what I did the first time:

I made the lamb by stamping with the gray on River Rock and used the out of the box technique. I really liked it, but thought it might be a little dark, and thought I might restamp the lamb in white. Here is the new result:

I think I like the white one better. It stands out more, and that was what I wanted all along.

Thanks for looking today. We are having another snowstorm, and joined the lightly falling snow with coffee in the hot tub this morning. It's snowing hard now, so I'll be doing a lot of R & R with puzzles, a book, and keeping my feet up. What a day!
