Brads today! (CCEE below)

The challenge today over at SplitCoastStampers is to use brads or eyelets.   Here's my card:

This is already in the mail to Nick, Erin's boyfriend for the past 6 years.  He is a Mechanical Engineer who spends his down time working on cars.  I think he will get a kick out of this card and what it says....

"They couldn't fix my brakes, so I had them make the horn louder."

Thanks for looking.

CCEE1913 Pencils

Tomorrow is National Pencil Day!  Kelly challenges us to create a card coloring an image with colored pencils (no markers, watercolors etc.) OR feature an image with a pencil.

I colored this adorable Penny Black image with color pencils, and found some pencil bg dp as well!

Please join us, and post your card HERE.

Sketch Challenge Wednesday

I love Wednesdays at SplitCoastStampers.  The sketches are always fun, and get me to use my "thinking cap".  Here's the sketch this week:

Here's what I made:

immediately thought of a rainbow, so of course SU's Magical Day set was just the thing.  This will go to our DGD Sam.  Inside it says, "You, my sweet, are more wonderful than unicorns and sparkles combined."

Right after I finished this card, I had another idea, so this is what I came up with using the same sketch:

Because I usually make humorous cards, this one says, "We are all mature until someone gets out the bubble wrap."  This will go to one of our grands.  Thanks for looking today.

Teapot Tuesday

The last Tuesday of each month is a challenge called a "tickle", where we make a card and send it to someone in our group.  Today's challenge was to make a card with a surprise inside, and it was to be humorous.  How right up my alley, you say???!

Here's the card I made:

Not a very good picture.  I really need to do it again.  Anyway, it was also for the Color Challenge at SplitCoastStampers (pink, sea foam, and espresso), with an extra of designer paper, which is inside.

Speaking of inside, here it is:

The little glasses of wine are so cute......from SU.  I love this saying.....always makes me giggle.

On Sunday, I will find out to whom my card goes, and it will be a surprise in the mail.  Doesn't that sound like fun?  It always is!

Thanks for looking.  Have a terrific day

CCEE1912 Surprise Element

Next week is National Smoke and Mirrors Day!  This cellbration is based on magicians' illusions, where they make objects disappear or disappear with retracting mirrors and confusing bursts of smoke.  Kelly challenges us to wave our magic wands and create a card with a surprise element.

The popped up cupcake is the surprise element on the inside of my card.  I placed a picture of the front so you could see the fun birthday saying.

CCEE1911 Shoes

Kelly tells us:

Tomorrow is National Shoe the World Day.  Many teens and children around the world do not have a pair of shoes to wear, and despite the climate or terrain, they walk barefoot.  Let's create a card using any type  of shoe - cowboy boots, heels, flip-flops, to help the awareness to donate any shoes you may no longer need.

CCEE1910 Name Day

Kelly is our hostess for the month of March.

Monday was Fun Facts about Your Name Day.  What does your name mean?  Briefly research the  meaning of your name and create a card.  If you can't find your name directly, create a card based on a few letters IN your name.

My name, Anne, comes from the Hebrew, and means "grace".  If you knew me, you would laugh your head off!!!

I love this SU image.  I think she defines the word grace in her lovely pose.

Please join us, and post your card HERE.

Our hostess for the month of February is Maryann.   Here is her challenge to us:

The birthstone for February is Amethyst.  Use a shade of purple and include gem stones or charms on your card.

Liz is challenging us to make Elvis come alive in some way on our cards this week. (Maybe a rock and roll theme, records, an Elvis or guitar stamp, or perhaps even "Blue Suede Shoes".)  Any way you can think of to let the world know the "King" of rock and roll.

How cool is it to have Elvis paper???  I added some bg guitars and a crown for the KING!

CCEE1901 Black Ice

Welcome to the first CCEE of the new Year!  Liz is our hostess for the  month of January.  She lives in a place where the Winters are relatively mild, but her greatest fear is driving in icy conditions.  "Black Ice" is a very hazardous condition she has heard others mention.

She discovered in the tutorials on SCS that there is a technique called "Black Ice" in stamping, so her challenge to us is to give that technique a try.

https:/www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/blackicetechnique/

This card I made goes to our grandson Tom, who is a chemistry/Biology major at UMass, Amherst.  Inside it says...
..."You're part of the precipitate!"  I hope he thinks this is funny.

Please join us, this week and every week, HERE.
