CHF31 Lighthouse/Beach

This week I chose our theme at Cornish Heritage Farms - Lighthouse or Beach.  I used a CHF digi stamp #1612, coloring only the spotlighted portion of this wonderful scene.  I added waves at the bottom, and voila!

CCEE1328 Collage

Sabrina's theme this week at CCEE is to create a collage panel, using at least four different stamps.  This is something that intrigues me, but I find difficult.  I am really pleased with how this one came out, on the first try, yet!!!

I kept the travel theme, using five different images, then inked and punched out letters to spell TRAVEL.

Please join us, linking your card HERE.

See you next week!

Thomas Kinkade Week at CHF

Kristine had a new technique using TK stamps.......spotlighting with another color.

IRL, you can tell the difference very easily between the black background and the gray popped oval, edged  in black.

Each month features a card made with an image from Thomas Kinkade found at Cornish Heritage Farms.  Check back with us again.

Blue and White

This card was made for the Mixability challenge on SCS.  The idea was to use different textures, media, etc.

I embossed the blue cardstock background, then foam-brushed on white acrylic paint.  Embossing some vellum, I punched out butterflies, and added pearls.  the final thing was a ribbon bow, but now I'm not sure .... maybe the best thing to do would be to take the ribbon off and add a couple of large pearls in the upper corner to balance it off.  What do you think?

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend ..... .we celebrate with family and friends tomorrow.

CCEE1327 Let's Go To The Beach

Sabrina is our hostess for the month of July. Here is her challenge, in her own words:
"I grew up by the seaside and we spent most summer days there - when it wasn't raining,  Bring your Independence Day picnic along if you want, just keep the sand out of the sandwiches."

I brought the whole beach, collected shells, and left my flip-flops at the edge of my blanket.

Please join us, linking your card HERE, and show us what her words mean to you!

See you next week for Sabrina's next theme.

CHF30 Summer

Welcome back to another Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge.

Steph chose as our theme "Summer", so I used this fun digi #352F called SUN.

I added only sky. sand, and flip flops.  I think that's all the summer needs.

Please join us, and link your card HERE on our blog, where you'll find the connections to the DT.

CCEE1326 Dryer Sheet Flower

Brenda's last challenge for the month is to use the tutorial on SCS to make a dryer sheet flower.  I had never done this before, and it was so easy!!

I sprayed the sheet with Summer Sun, and used gold glitter around the edges.  I put the flower together with a punched flower in yellow and orange, and a pale yellow brad.  The flourish is pale green, and the ink is marmalade.

I hope you will try this fun technique, and link your card HERE so we can see it too.

Come back next week for another challenge.

CHF Extra!

Here's a card I made strictly for a guy.  I guess you could tell, right?

Stamped in gray, sponged in colors, mounted on dark gray, and on gray script.  All I added was some gray ribbon and a button.

Thanks for taking a look.  Be sure to come back next week for a CHF challenge.

CCEE1325 CAS Masculine Card

Brenda challenged us to make a CAS Masculine Card for today.

This one really is simple, since I had this computer generated saying, and the A Muse lawn mower.  I had some scraps of DCWV grass dp, and I think this makes a fun one.

Please join us, linking your card HERE, and join us again next Thursday.

Birds of a Feather

This is the card I made this morning for the SCS challenge, which gave us a sketch.

I guess the newest thing is to use feathers, and I just happen to have this image, and some real ones.  They will be showing up more and more.

Spent the last two days with a migraine, so today I am feeling out of the picture, but I will get better as the day wears on.

Have a good day, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the CCEE Challenge card here.

CHF29 - Graduation

Steph is our hostess today on Cornish Heritage Farms.  Her challenge to us was to make a Graduation card.  This is very timely, as we have our grandson Jake graduating from Middle School.

I used blue cardstock, run through the Cuttlebug and "Congratulations" embossing folder.  I printed my CHF digi (All Ears Dog 582D)  on brown paper and cut him out, using only a little pink marker on his ears and face.

I had Jolee's graduation cap and diploma, so I added those, placing the diploma under the dog's paw as I popped him up.  Easy peasy.

Please join us using your CHF images, and link HERE.  You could win some fab images!!!

Ack!! Black??

The challenge today was to use black for stamping and painting.  ACK!!  That's something I never do.

To counteract the black, I of course used RED, and had this fab paper with all my fav colors in it.

I stippled over mesh with Twinkling H2O in garnet, removed the mesh, stamped, and painted.

This layout is from Diane,  our QFTD at SCS.

Have a great day.  We are hoping the rain will stop soon.

Thomas Kincade Week

Here's another Thomas Kinkade image, straight from Cornish Heritage Farms.  This one is called Friendship Cottage (TK-301P).

The stamp is inked in Versafine Spanish Moss....what a gorgeous color!  There's just enough blue in the dp to go with the ribbon, don't you think?

Please check out the wonderful Kinkade cottage stamps at Cornish Heritage Farms, and join me here next Tuesday for another CHF challenge.

Smile!

Sometimes you just have to make a pretty card.  I don't usually work with pink, but this image really called for it.  If you look closely, the lovely woman is fingering her strand of pearls, so those were a must too.

This was made for the Featured stamper today at Split Coast Stampers, and someone will receive it as a birthday or encouragement card.  I do hope it brings a smile.

The sun is shining today, DH is officiating as the Starter in Providence at a track meet, and Mom and I are fending for ourselves.  I see going out to lunch in our future!!

Have a great day, and thanks for visiting.

Excitement!

What  a night we had!! It had rained all day, and when the Red Sox were postponed, we were able to see the Bruins win a shut-out against the Penguins! They get a shot at the Stanley Cup again. WOW!  Then.........the rain kept coming and coming. Four inches of it (and most of it in our basement!!), and DH was up mopping until 6:10 this morning!  We had plans to see friends for the first time this year, but he's just too tired for dinner and cards tonight.

The computer was sooooooo slow this morning, it took me FOREVAH to download my card for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS.  It should have occurred to me it was because of the storm! DUH!  Anyway, here it is.  I love this set from SU - Autumn Days.  It makes fab masculine cards.  I hope you like it.

Lotsa Flowers for Three!

Well this was messy, but fun!  I combined three challenges this morning.  It's dark and raining, so I have plenty of time to clean up.

The MIX challenge was to smudge and smear......calls for gelatos, right?  After adding the pistachio gelato to my paper, I painted with white acrylic before stamping Tapestry flowers around to frame my sentiment panel (Free4All - more than 4 flowers).

Our QFTD, Phyllis, had a simple card with a circle in the center which I cased.

We will be getting days of rain from the first tropical storm of the season (Andrea), which comes just in time for all the Hosta that has been transplanted from the front walk to around the trees.

Have a great day, and a fabulous weekend!

CCEE1323 Direct to Paper

Our hostess for the month of June is Brenda O'Rear (Benzi).  She challenged us to use the direct to paper technique.

I stamped my ink directly from the pad (Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads) to the white background, then inked stamps to place on the squares made by the pads.

I hope you will want to join us, this week and every week for FUN!  Please link your card HERE , and be sure to check out the whole team's entries.

Origami!

This morning the challenge (one of three) at SCS was to make a card using origami.  It was suggested that something flat would be best.

I went looking around the web, and found these simple directions for this cute bear.

The card I made with him is below.  If you click on the directions you can see them full sized.

This afternoon, Julia (artystamper) is picking me up to go to the Stamp Show in Springfield.  We worked this show last year for Dave Miller, the owner of Rubbernecker Stamps.  We had a really good time, and when he asked us to join him again, of course we said yes!  It's a lot of work, but we had fun too.  It was sort of like a Big Girls Slumber Party, as Julia and I have become good friends.

We hope  you will be able to get out to the Show, and hope you will come and see us at the Rubbernecker Booth, where we will be demo-ing new stuff!!

CCEE1322 It's A Picnic

For our last May Challenge, Shirley chose the theme "It's A Picnic".  What could be more picnic-y than ants and watermelon???

I was happy to use my three favorite colors, RED, Black, and White.

I hope you will want to join us in making a card to go with our challenge.  Please link up your card HERE
and be sure to check out the design team's cards as well.   Come back and see us again next week.

Blue, Blue, Blue!

This is really funny.

For the past three days, my cards have been blue.

I didn't plan it that way, but that's how it turned out.  Not a speck of RED.  Never even thought of it!

Each of these cards was for a challenge at Split Coast Stampers.......
Feathers, Colors (two blues and
green), and the Sketch.

I think in all fairness, my cards for the rest of the
week should be RED, don't you think???

I hope you enjoy these cards, in spite of their color.

The rain continues, and we are so sick of it.  I guess the rest of the week is supposed to be fabulous, and that just figures.  Julia Aston (artystamper) and I are going to be demonstrators again for Rubbernecker stamps in Springfield MA Saturday and Sunday.  If you are close enough, we would love to have you stop by and say hello!!

See you tomorrow for the CCEE challenge!

CHF Extra!

This week I have a CHF card for you.  This image and sentiment come from a Rubber stamp sheet at Cornish Heritage Farms, called "Haute Couture".

I stamped the "girls" and words with fired brick RED on a beautiful pink designer paper.  The matching paper is the stripe.

All I added for embellishment was the prima flower and pearl.  I hope you like it!

Peacock

I combined three challenges this morning in the making of this card.  I wish you could see how pretty the colors are, but taking pictures on a rainy dark day is a challenge all by itself.

The peacock is a copy from peachytattoo.com.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I colored it with water color pencils, wet washed it, then cut it out.  When it was dry, I clear embossed it.  It's popped up - on three embossed panels that are sponged in turquoise, and stamped with a feather in three blue shades of ink.  The dp is from Miss Elizabeth.

I finished the card with ribbon and pearls. I really like it.  Thanks for looking and visiting me.  Have a great weekend.

CCEE1321 Let's Go Fishing!

Our Hostess, Shirley, challenged us to make a card called "Let's Go Fishing".

I used some fabulous dp with embossed fish as a bg for the digi of creel, rod, and rainbow trout.  I added a strip of fishing lures, but left off an outside sentiment.

We have some avid fishermen in the family.  This will go to one of them.

Please join us, linking HERE.

CHF27 Pink and Green

Michele is our hostess for the new Cornish Heritage Farms challenge......use pink and green.

I love this Asian bird digital stamp.  I guess you can see the colors of pencil I used.  I only added some punched flowers and leaves, liquid pearls, and a punched strip.  easy Peasy!

Please join us, entering your card HERE, to win some wonderful CHF images!!

Come and see me again next time.

RED!

Here is my card for the Inspiration challenge at SCS today.  I chose a RED hand painted pot with a white bird and ferns to get my brain working this morning.

I know you haven't seen a lot of RED from me lately.  I seem to go in fits and starts.

DH is in Springfield officiating at a Track Meet this weekend, so my mom and I are left to our own devices.  LOOK OUT!!

I am anxious to go to Springfield myself......my friend Julia (artystamper) and I will demonstrate Rubbernecker Rubber Stamps for the owner at the Stamp Show the 1st and 2nd of June.  What fun!! Come and see us if you can!!!

CCEE1320 What Does It Mean?

Our Hostess, Shirley, challenged us to "Let it all hang out or over".  There was a bit of discussion between members of the team as to what exactly that meant.  I have to tell you truthfully, this is not the first card I have made for this challenge.  When I found this image, I just had to discard the other one I had made.

I think you can see for yourself how I thought this little "old" lady really fit what Shirley had in mind.  Enough said.

Please join us, linking your card HERE, and join us again next week.

CCEE1319 Scraps

Our Hostess for May (Shirley) challenged us to make a CAS card with scraps.

My butterfly background is the negative I saved (a scrap!) from a die cut.  I filled in the empty space with scraps of RED, and I'm sure it's no surprise to you that I have plenty of those!

Please feel free to join us, and link your card HERE.

CHF26 Let's Get Digital!

Our hostess from CHF today is Frances.  She challenged us to use digital images.

I recently found this cute leprechaun on the CHF site, and I think he looks so cute peeking over the fence.  There are clouds in the bg, and grass at the bottom of the scoring, with a St. Paddy's Day sentiment.  It's never too early to be ready for next year!!

Please join us, linking a digi CHF image on your card HERE, and come back for another challenge in two weeks.  Enter - you just might be the winner of some great stuff!

Erin's 16th birthday!

My beautiful granddaughter, Erin, is sixteen today!!  When she was born we had two grandsons, and although grandsons are fabulous, we saw this awesome baby girl, and went crazy!!

Here are some pictures of her that were taken over the weekend.  She danced on Sunday, and the boyfriend went to encourage her to do well.  I guess it worked!!

Here's our girl in her new dress with her trophies!

She won one first and three seconds out of four dances! WOW!

 Below:

Here she is with her boyfriend, Bill.  I guess now they call it a "relationship" (but what do I know???)

Isn't he cute? He's a grade ahead of her, a Junior, and they will be going to the Junior Prom on Saturday.  We met Bill last week at Erin's party for her Confirmation (he sat with me in church), and he is just the sweetest guy.

Here is Erin with her mama, our daughter Amy.  Can you tell how proud of Erin she is???  These dance competitions have given Erin a lot of confidence, and they get to spend some time together, just the girls.  Sometimes Erin's two brothers and Dad attend, but the boys get antsy with all the waiting around!

And here at last is the birthday girl, at home, celebrating with her cake. Happy Birthday Erin!!! MWAH!

CCEE1317 In The Kitchen

Kathy Bradley, for her last theme as hostess for April, chose In The Kitchen.

The challenge was:  make a card using food, appliances, a whole kitchen scene, utensils - anything that can be found in the kitchen.

Of course I used RED.  This cute pastry chef image reminds me so much of my darling granddaughter, Erin, who turns 16 next week.  She is the pastry baker in the family, and everything she makes is so yummy!  This will go to her with a check in it.

Be sure to join us, linking your card to our blog HERE.  Check out the rest of the members of the team while you are there.  See you next week!

CHF25 - Spring!

Our hostess this week is Cindy, who chose the theme - SPRING!

I made this card with a digi from Cornish Heritage Farms called "Floppy Bunny", and the sentiment came from the digi section of CHF too.

I sponged a doily in pink, painted my bunny, which I cut out and popped, and did the same with the words.

Please join us.  You just might win some fabulous images!  Be sure to link your card HERE.
