Snow, Copper Medallion and Peacock

We are in the midst of a blizzard, more than 2 feet of snow has already fallen, with more to come, and wild winds.  That's DH, using the snowblower for the first round.  He's 6'4" tall, so you can tell how deep the snow is!!

I had to make a brightly colored card today in self-defense!  I used the emboss resist technique, where embossing is put down first, then sponged.  I really love the soft look of the sponging.

This card is for three challenges today at SCS.  I just enjoy combining them...more of a challenge to me!

Hope you are safe and warm, wherever you are.  Thanks for looking, and enjoy your weekend.

CCEE1306 Enjoy The Ride!

Our Hostess for the month of February is Frances.  Our challenge this week is to create a card that features some sort of weather (apparently the 5th of Feb. was "Weatherperson's  Day"), ie. sun, clouds, rain, snow, etc.

As y ou can see, I stayed away from bad weather.  I'm tired of Winter already!!  I thought this fun card was more like Spring or Summer.  Am I rushing the seasons??

Please feel free to join us, and add your card to Mr. Linky HERE.  We'll be back next week with another theme from Frances.

TK Week at CHF

Here is a card I made with the Thomas Kinkade image "Guardian Castle.  It was cut with a nestie, layered on dark gray with a brick wall ef.

I colored the image with pencils, adding leaves and a flower.  The brown behind it is not part of the card.

Please join us, using your tk images from Cornish Heritage Farms.

This card is a combination of Rubbernecker images.  I created the bg scene, then stamped, painted, and cut out the image and popped it up.

Join us this week on our BLOG, and every Thursday for another challenge.  See ya!

CCEE1304 Punch the Clock Day

Joanne, our hostess for the CCEE Challenge this month, asked us to celebrate a little known holiday (Punch the Clock Day - Jan. 27th) by making a masculine card with a timepiece theme.

This card stays closed with the image from Rubbernecker (535-03 Dapper on Bike). The pocket watches are also from RN stamps (534-04 Watch Set 3)
Please join us HERE, linking your card too.

See you next Thursday!

Just grands! (CHF below)

Here is Erin in her new costume                                       and Tommy in his new braces!

Erin is an Irish Step dancer, and her costumes are gorgeous (thanks to Gram and great Gram)....... she's so pretty to begin with, and only prettier on the floor before the judges.  She helped design this dress, and was so pleased with the results.  She got a trophy in pink and gold on the first outing, and everyone stopped to stare at her in her favorite color, she said.

Tommy looks pretty happy in his braces, but only time will tell how happy he is!  My daughter called this AM to tell me she had posted his picture after she dropped him off at school.  He had Tylenol before and after, but tonight he's going to be sore.

That's the latest on two of the seven.......just in case you wanted an update (and even if you didn't!)

CHF Fisherman

Here's a card I made for friends who are big into fishing!! I used Cornish Heritage Farms digis - #193 Fisherman, and #1655 Fishing You.....

The bg is CHF's Netting.  I think they are perfect together.

CHF has so many wonderful images......in red rubber and digis.  Be sure to take a look HERE, and join us at the next CHF challenge on the 29th.

Green and Green

Today I'm uploading two cards I made, 1 yesterday and 1 this morning.  I am tired of RED!  can you believe such a thing?????  My Valentine cards are all made, and sitting with their envelopes, ready for mailing.  All I have to do is get some nice crisp FIVES to put in for the Grands.  I have a few cards made for Groundhogs Day, so on to St. Pat's.  Here they are:

CCEE1303 Clean and Simple Sympathy

Welcome to another CCEE Challenge.  Our hostess Joanne chose our theme........she says she struggles with making clean and simple cards.  Personally, I don't buy that......she's so good at everything!  In addition to CAS, it has to be Sympathy.

I'm so sorry to say I needed this card, and it has gone in the mail to a friend who lost her mother.

Please join us, adding your card HERE.  See  you again in another week!

CHF18 Sketch Challenge

Here is the Challenge from Cornish Heritage Farms this week.  Kristine has given us a sketch challenge.

I really love a sketch.......I don't have to think so hard.  All I had to do was to look through my CHF images, and I was on my way.

Here is the card I made to go with the sketch.  This is a digi called "Deer With Lights" (2541).

I colored the deer in two shades of brown, RED, and gold for the bells.  The strip across is RED mirror paper.

Please join us this week (and every week) and link your card or project HERE.  There's always a prize, so use any CHF image, and Good Luck!

Easter!

Do you think I'm rushing the season?? Here is the Easter card I made today!

This card is a case of a pink one made by my cyberfriend, Lynn in Texas.  She is our Featured Stamper at SplitCoastStampers today.  It's such a pleasure to see her chosen this week!

Today will be spent as yesterday was, in front of the television, watching football.  I was just delighted to see Peyton Manning done for the year.  I'm not a fan of the Ravens (they are dirty players), but I really don't care for Denver as a place for our Pats to play after they defeat Houston today!! (Gosh! I hope I didn't jinx them!!!)

Today would be the VERY LAST day to be with my daughter-in-law, Debbie.  She is such a fan of the Patriots that even being in the room with her is painful!  She may give us a call if something unusual happens, but we are not missing her today.

Have a wonderful Sunday, enjoy the football if you are so inclined, and please root for our guys!!

CCEE1302 New Toys!

Welcome back to another CCEE Challenge.  This week Joanne has challenged us to take some time to play with new stamping "toys".

My newest toy is from Memory Box, the Frostyville Border Die Cut.  Isn't it fabulous???

The digi snowman is paper pieced, and isn't it fun that he's looking at the snow beneath his feet!!

Please join us, linking your card HERE.  Be sure to take a look at what the rest of the team has done!  See you next Thursday.

I made a pink and white card for the baby next door, Juliette, who has just soined her sisters, Penelope and Scarlett.

I hope you will want to join us in our first challenge of 2013.  (Can it be already??)  Just link your card HERE so we can enjoy it too, and you'll see the cards from the rest of the Design Team.

Our CHF challenge today is to use NO GREEN OR RED!  I made this card with a digi (Asian 13) from Cornish Heritage Stamps.  The bg is a new Spellbinder EF, called (appropriately enough) Asian.

If you would like to play along with us of course we would love to have you! AND - if you do, you could win a $10 Gift Certificate and a Winner's Badge to put on your Blog!

Emboss Resist

The challenge today was twofold, and involved using a technique I don't often do.  I love the look of emboss resist, but it always makes a mess.

I cased a card of Wanda Cullen's (cullenwr) from SCS, as we were asked to find someone whose birthday was close to our own. Ours are two days apart.

Wanda makes beautiful cards, and I kept her layout, changing only the colors and ef.

Christmas is behind us, New Year's ahead.  The days sure fly by.  Hope you are looking forward to the New Year.  I'm pretty good at remembering the new number for the month of January, but after that I really slip up!

Have a great day, all!

Sparkle Background

Back to Winter.  the card, not the weather (yet).  the challenge was to make a card with sparkle, and this is sure it.  I must tell you that the brad in the middle of the flake is white and sparkly.  It was very hard to take the photo today.

My sweet Son-in-law is coming today to pick up all the gifts my DD had delivered here.  YAY!  I get my sunporch back!  He's bringinig two gift cards my DD picked up for me, so that finishes up the shopping for this year.  DOUBLE YAY!

We are having a very low-key Christmas.  I've done none of my Swedish baking or cooking.  My hands are just not up to the task (and confidentially I had no enthusiasm to do it), so it will be regular food.  Some will care, but food is food, and we are all good eaters.

Have a safe and happy holiday.  Much love to you all from our house.

It's Spring!

I know it's not Spring, but I am tired of the same old colors.  Also, today is full of sunshine, and it doesn't look like December at all.

This card is for the Sketch Challenge at SCS.  I altered it a bit to accommodate the chevrons...they were supposed to be a strip.

I added some clouds in the bg, and used my brand new nestie labels (and also the new chevrons).  What fun to have new stuff.

Have a great day!

CHF16 - Winter

This week I am your Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge hostess.  The theme is Winter.

I used Thomas Kinkade's "Graceland Christmas" (TK - 124T) from CHF.

The image is inked in nave on blue papre, backed with navy.  There's a snowflake with the sentiment on the white ribbon.

Please join us adding your card HERE, and maybe you will win some fabulous stamps!!

Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday!  Today I am basking in the beautiful sunshine, although the temperature will not go above 35 degrees today.  Snow tomorrow.  Enjoy what you have today......the moral of the story.

Mom and I made this floral card this morning for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS.  It was quick and easy (we like that!), and will work for just about anything we want to send a card for. (This is my 2nd preposition ending sentence of the morning.  Please don't tell my English teacher son!)

Here's hoping that, in the light of the news from CT, you will find time to hug your children. Love to you all.

CCEE1250 Santa......

Welcome back to the CCEE Challenge!  This is our last for 2012.  Wow.  Where did the time go?

Our hostess Frances challenged us to make something using Santa, as the theme is "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town".

My card uses a Rubbernecker (209-07 Winter Holiday #4 - Santa) image, and I just LOVE his sweet face.

Please join us, linking your card HERE.  Have a wonderful Holiday, and come see us in the New Year!!!

An Extra

I made a card yesterday, and was so busy I didn't have time to post.  It was made for the Inspiration Challenge, and I was really pleased with the way it came out.  Feels good to be done with Christmas cards!

CCEE1249 Favorite New Die

Welcome back to another CCEE Challenge.  This week, Cindy Haffner told us she wanted to see our Favorite New Die.

I had to use the new bird and birdhouse I got from Quikutz.  I think it's just adorable..especially with my old fave, the fence punch, and the Quikutz branch.

The sentiment is only one line from a Rubbernecker sentiment (508 - garden Phrase Set).  I just love that their images are so great, and the sayings are so multi-purpose!

Be sure to join us, and link your card HERE.  We'll see you again next Thursday!

CHF15 - Christmas Box or Bag

Our hostess this week is Frances, who challenged the Cornish Heritage Farms DT to make a Christmas Box or Bag.

I made my box out of Heidi Grace double sided designer paper.  The first picture shows that it REALLY is a box, and the second shows better the view from the top.

The cardinal image is, of course, from CHF (Cardinal 300M- Digi), and it's painted with watercolors.  It's done with a technique called "out of the box", and mounted on a circle atop the box.

I added some punched greens and flowers, and rolled a rose.  There is a big pearl in the rose, and liquid pearls in the small flowers.

Please join us this week, linking your card HERE, and maybe you will win some imiages!!

See you in two weeks with another challenge!

CHF Winter Village

My card today is a case of one by Julia, our QFTD at SCS.  Her card has a BEE, mine is certainly a different theme.

This is a digi stamp by Cornish Heritage farms called Winter Village (1083K), and using Gimp, I changed the black to purple for this card.

It's also for the Free 4 All challenge...fruits and veggies.  One of the options was to use a color for the theme, so I chose grape.  I just couldn't get my act together for a fruit or veg card.  Christmas is still on the table top!

Have a great day.

CCEE1248 Ribbon Lacing

Our last CCEE challenge of the month for our hostess Vicky Gould is Ribbon Lacing.  We were told we could lace through a bracket, piece of lattice work, cardstock......whatever.

I laced the RED ribbon through holes made with a punch, then tied a bow.  The snowman is a Sizzix die cut, and I think he is just the cutest!

Please join us, linking your card HERE, and we'll see you in December!

Christmas in Saffron

I love to make Christmas cards in non-traditional colors.  This one uses Saffron, a pale shade of yellow.

The center is cut out with an oval floral nestability.  The image is from SU - Lovely as a Tree, one of my all-time favorites, and sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I made this specifically for the Featured Stamper (thecircleguru) at SCS today, changing a number of things she did to make it my own.  I hope she likes it(and you too!).

Have a great day.......we'll be joined by #2 son and family today for some food and football.

Glitter for Sue

Our Queen for the Day, Sue, will be enjoying a lot of cards made in her honor.  I hope she likes this one I cased from her wonderful gallery.

I hope you can see the powdery glitter on the panel with the ornament.  IRL it's very pretty.

We had a fab Thanksgiving...good food, even if I do say so myself (the cook), and fun being with the family.  I hope yours was as good as ours.  To top it off, our Pats won BIG!!

CCEE1247 Challenge

Welcome to another CCEE challenge.  Our hostess for the month of November is Vicky Gould.

She challenged us to make a card using Brown,, Yellow, and Orange, along with designer paper (any size or shape).

I made a very simple card using the A2 size, with some wonderful Fall paper.  I used a leaf stamp and a Thanksgiving sentiment to go with my ribbon and acorn charm.

Please join us, linking your card HERE, and come back again next Thursday for CCEE1248.

I would like also to wish my daughter Amy the happiest birthday ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Irish Dancer

For those of you that had the interest to come here, this is our beautiful granddaughter, Erin, in her solo dress.  I couldn't resist a little bragging!!  And I have to tell you, that as gorgeous as she is, she is just that nice, sweet, and pleasant too.  (Her brothers may not agree, but EVERYONE else does!!)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

CHF14 Trees!

Our Hostess Kristine Reynolds challenged us to make a card with trees............Fall trees, Christmas trees, snowy trees, etc.

I embossed this tree using only part of the folder.  With a dark green background, and white cardstock, I added a RED bow, and sentiments (NEW! from Night Before Christmas - CHF) in green and RED.

If you would like to play along with us of course we would love to have you! AND - if you do, you could win a $10 Gift Certificate and a Winner's Badge to put on your Blog!

To play create a card using CHF images. You can use either CHF digi or rubber stamps to create a card or project.... anything you like as long as the stamps are Cornish Heritage Farms. (Yes, they can be older stamps.)

A Few Posts

This is the card I made today for the Inspiration Challenge.  The site Stef picked had wonderful RED bowls.  I used the solid as the bg for my new Tim Holtz reindeer die cut, and the trees which I haven't used before either.  I added some snowflakes with pearls and a ribbon.  Kinda okay I think.
This card I made for Gabby, our Queen For The Day yesterday.  I cased a Halloween card she made, and used the same layout, but changed the theme, as I'm sure I didn't need to tell you.

Today my two youngest grandsons, Tommy and John, are arriving.  They are at a Boy Scout overnight, and have an empty house, since my DD, DGD, and DS-in-law are away.  What a treat to have these boys.......11, and 12, but still little boys.  They are excited to come because they know that I will craft with them.

Have a great day, wherever you are.

Falling Snowflakes

The challenges today were......use newsprint RED, white, and black, and Gabby (gabalot) is Queen for the day.  I cased a wonderful card of hers called "The Colors of Fall", using her layout, but changing the colors and theme.  I loved having my favorite color combo chosen today!!!

The sentiment is from Rubbernecker Stamps:

209-07 Winter Holiday #4.

I'm off to the chiropractor again at noon today.  My neck is still not good, and I'm throwing the rest of myself off by holding it wrong.  A few more trips and I'll be right as rain again.

CCEE1246 Fall/Thanksgiving

Welcome back to another CCEE challenge.  This week Vicky has chosen  a Fall or Harvest theme.

My images are from new rubber sets at Cornish Heritage Farms, and the set is called Fall Harvest.

Please join us, and link your card HERE, and remember we have a new challenge every Thursday!

Spirit Of Love

One of the neatest things is being able to cut sentiments apart to use just what fits!  I used Rubbernecker 508- Garden Phrase Set, and cut only Spirit of Love to ink up in RED.

This card is for the combined challenges at SCS this morning - the Technique Lover's Challenge (trees), and the Clean And Simple (a sketch with four thingies hanging down.  I flipped the sketch, obviously)

Another Christmas card for my stash.  Thannks for visiting me again!

CHF Night Before Christmas

Here's the card I made this morning, using one of the beautiful sentiments from CHF.  It's in a set called "Night Before Christmas".  Be sure to check out Cornish Heritage Farms for wonderful new rubber stamps!!

The paper I used in addition to the layered white (embossed with a winter motif folder) is from Momenta, and is called The Story Of Us.  It's shiny and textural, and I've been hoarding it long enough!

The snow is gone, and the sun is out.  We're expecting a few days in excess of 60 degrees.  Guess Fall isn't over yet!

Enjoy your weekend.  Hugs to you all.

A Bee For Angie!

I made this card for Angella Crockett, the QFTD at SCS.  Her cards are always beautiful, and so well laid out.  I changed a few things, but essentially it's very like hers.  I hope she likes it, and that you do too.

I used the following Rubbernecker sets:

sentiment: 508 garden Phrase Set
bee: 512 Create a Garden Set 1

The two challenges today are combined in this card.  I love to do that.

Have a fabulous day!!

CCEE1245 Portion of EF

Our Hostess, Vicky Gould, challenged us to use only a portion of an embossing folder.

I used half of the snowflake ef.  Additionally, I embossed a little snowguy.

Please join us again this week, linking your card HERE.

See you next week!

Snowman

What a perfect day for a snowman.  We are awaiting snow....and I have to say we are not looking forward to it!

Winter comes too soon, and Fall doesn't last long enough.

Friday is the day for the closing on Mom's house, and DD is the attorney handling it.  She will have to drive an hour and a half to get to the registry for us.  We would like the snow to hold off, but she is intrepid......that won't bother her a bit!  How nice to have her do this for us, so we can sit and wait for the check to arrive!!

Hope you are safe and sound, and enjoying your day!  Thanks for visiting.

CHF13 Thomas Kincade

Our challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms is presented by Dawn Bennett.  She asked us to make a card using a stamp by Thomas Kincade.

I used  "Graceland Christmas" (TK124) for my card. The sentiment  comes from the new set "Night Before Christmas".  The image is stamped in Olive, and all I added was a pair of flowers.

Once you have created your card/project come  here and place a comment with a link to your card/project to this post so that we can see what you created. If you upload your card/project to SCS don't forget to include the keyword CHF13. We can't wait to see what you create!

CCEE1244 Faux Pressed Flowers

Vicky Gould is our hostess for the month of November.  For her first challenge, she requested Faux Pressed Flowers.

I punched out flowers to match the dp, then after I added the dp at the bottom, I ran it through the cb, using the lattice folder.  The sentiment comes from Rubbernecker Stamps (600 Phrase Set - Best Wishes), which I stamped in Lagoon and sponged.  It's mounted on a circle, and added to ribbon.

We hope you will join us, linking  your card HERE, and that you will check in with us again next (and every) Thursday!!

A Two-Fer on Monday

Here's the card I made for the Technique Lover's Challenge today..........the theme was WOVEN RIBBON.

Of course I chose to use RED, and since I am on to making Christmas cards, the olive background was a MUST.

I love this adorable snowman holding the bird.  If you click on the card, you can see the bg embossing of the Holiday EF.
Here's the collage card I made for the Clean and Simple Challenge today at SCS.

The images are all from Rubbernecker Stamps:

500 - Garden Phrase Set
615 - Grunge BG - Paint Splattered Screen
645-01 - Collage Floral Set 1
534-03 - Music, Time, Bikes - Watch Set 3
644-01 - Collage Pattern BG 1

I used the wonderful colors of Autumn - marigold, pumpkin, rust, and thyme.

Have a safe day!

Cornish Heritage Farms and RED!

There are new stamps (both digi and rubber) at CHF!  This card was  made with one of each:

Skiing Snowman (430 K)
Night Before Christmas Set

It's a case of a card made by Janine at SCS (nines) who is our Featured Stamper today.

Be sure to check out the new stuff at CHF HERE!!
