F4A37 Horses

I love this new Native American set from MFP. This set will be released next week, and is called Bold & Free. It makes FABULOUS cards for men, and they are the toughest, aren't they?

We're getting ready to go on vacation......we'll be gone from Nov. 7th to the 14th (Sunday to Sunday) to our time-share in NH! The phone will not ring! We'll visit with friends! I'll be incommunicado! This will give my hand some time to recuperate too!

I MAY get to do a card or two before we leave, maybe not. If not, have a wonderful week!!

Where the Buffalo Roam

Here's a sneak peek of a new set from MFP that will be released next week, called Bold and Free. It's for the WT295 (green) and Stampin'B's (die cut and animal).

My stitches come out today. If you ever have a ganglion cyst, don't have the surgery. The pain and swelling are awful, and my flexibility......ain't!!

Be sure to check below for the DDIC this week too.

Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge # 39

Our inspiration for the challenge this week comes from this website:
http://www.patinastores.com/Products/Patchwork_Owl_Mug_098005.cfm

The mugs are such fun with the cute owl and the tree. My card uses some patterned paper for the Bosscut owl, and a nice pattern for the tree. The sentiment is from MFP, and the branches are some left-over pieces from punching the SU bird.

Please join us in the challenge this week, and be sure to comment on the work done by the DT by going to the names on the sidebar. See you in two weeks!

Saffron Lighthouse

Another sneak peek of a new set from Mark's Finest Papers that will be released next week, called Welcome Home.

I really love this set that has 3 lighthouses, and can be used all year long, and for any occasion.

I also love out of the box, so this was a no-brainer for me. This is for the SC today, and I think this could go to a guy, and you know how hard it is to make cards for them!!

Have a great day. Obviously I am better! YAY! stitches out tomorrow!!

White Embossing

Here's a sneak peek of a set that will be released by Mark's Finest Papers next week. The set is called Brick Wall (clever, right?) and I think it makes a fab bg!! The flowers are in the set too, along with this beautiful butterfly. I made this card for the CC today, and couldn't resist some embossing on vellum.

I'm really sore today, so that's it for now. Getting ready to leave on Sunday for a week in NH at our time-share. YAY! Have a great day, all!

Embedded Tree for Kay

For both the TLC and CAS today. The TLC was really fun.......Holly invented a new technique, using a lot of embossing powder. I love the results.

This will go to my mother's friend Kay, not as a sympathy card, but as get well. She is in Salem Hosp. after having been hit by a car, and suffering a broken hip.

Off to the hand Dr. this AM. The bruising continues to sprout up in new places. I'm sure it's normal, but checking can't hurt (but my hand still does! Yow!). Have a nice day.

Silver Bell in RED and green

For our FS, Cheryl, I made my first card in a week. hard to do, and painful, but I was going crazy just reading!!

I had saved a card of Cheryl's to case, and here she is FS! How cool is that??

My hand is really tired, so that's it. Tomorrow will be better.

on the mend

i was able to post a card for the ic256 today, one that also works for speedy's friends challenge - a holiday card. i'm giving you a sneak peek of a set that will be available next month from mfp called bells on bobtail. it's very hard to type with one hand, so suffice it to say the deets are on scs in my gallery.

here's what i look like now. on the mend. dh took this picture to show how colorful i am. the swelling is starting to go down, but i am really sore. i see my surgeon on thursday afternoon, so i won't know anything until then.

i'd like to thank you all for your get well wishes. see you soon.

Belli Challenge - Flower Soft

The Creative Belli Challenge today asks us to use Flower Soft or flock. The whole idea behind this challenge is that we use whatever we have on hand, not go out and buy something new. Using up our stash is VERY important.........then we can BUY NEW STUFF! Isn't that a great idea???

The image here is from MFP's "A Walk In The Woods". I had a little Flower Soft that was sent by a friend. I have never used it before, but I really like the look! I hope you do too.

Please join us in the challenge, and link your card to our blog HERE. Be sure to check out what the rest of the DT has done!

See you in two weeks with another fun challenge!

Ornament Card

For two challenges, the CAS (gingham) and the TLC (to make an ornament). The photo shows what the ornament looks like by itself, and the card shown in the upper corner shows how it will go into an envelope.

I sort of flew by the seat of my pants on this. I folded and cut first, then stitched up the side, down the slope, raised the foot of the machine and folded it together, and continued across the bottom, closing up the two thicknesses to form the pocket.

After I had this done, I decided to emboss with the hearts, and had to place the EF inside the card. Another time, I would do this first. Live and learn!

Tomorrow AM I am having hand surgery, so I probably won't be posting for a few days. Have a great week, and hugs to you all!

Frogs for Stefanie

First, I would like to thank my friend Vicky Gould for teaching me how to include a picture within a picture!! TFS!

This card is a get well for my cousin Stefanie who had knee surgery.

I cased the inset card from Lynette (LynniePoo), our Featured Stamper today. I kept the theme, but changed the image, flies, and sentiment (MFP - Our Side of the Pond), added googlie eyes and stickles. I hope you like it.

RED Forest

How could I resist using RED today for the IC255???

The posters on the site were wonderful, but when I saw the RED sky and snow in the woods with these hind-and-seek rabbits, I went straight to work.

Grandson Jake is arriving shortly for a sleepover, so I'll be busy. Have a great day!!

Corset's your birthday!

Keeping in mind that PINK is a shade of RED (LOL!), this is a birthday card for my friend and neighbor of 32 years.

We always try to give each other cute cards, and I think she will like this.

Since I am having hand surgery next week, and going on vaction Nov.7-14, I'm trying to get ahead with my card responsibilities. I hope to be in my addiction room all day today! I hope you are too. Have a good one!

2nd post - StampinB's Challenge

The Stampin'B's Challegne today is to make a Halloween card with NO orange or black!! I used white, green and brown to make this card.

It also covers the WT293 challenge as well, using fabric. This ribbon has no characteristics of ribbon...it's more fabric. It's loosely woven, and wide enough to qualify! I hope you like it!!

I thought I was done with Halloween , but I guess not. I usually send Mom lots of cards for the Holidays, so this will go to her. Thanks for looking!

Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge #38

Welcome to another Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge. This series of photos of Autumn was to be our inspiration for today.

Although the candy apples, clothed in their caramel wrappers looked more than good enough to eat, since I'm on a diet (again!), I decided that was too much temptation for me!!

The apples were also very appealing, as were the Fall flowers and berries.

Instead I chose the burlap bags of apples. I really liked the small image of the apple, and since I had some wonderful dp that looked like burlap, that was the direction I went.

You know I love RED, so of course a RED gingham bow just screamed out to me!!! The words and image are from Mark's Finest Papers in a set called Apples and Camellia.

Please join us, and link your card here. Be sure to check out the other DT members entries on the blog or on my sidebar.

See you in November!!

Snow Guy

This cute little snowman is part of a new release by MFP, and the set is called "Snowman Country". I just love him, and I always add a little half smile to his face and some blush to his cheeks. I also added a little holly leaf and berry to his hat today.

This card will go into my Christmas card stash, which is growing day by day. It's specifically for the Sketch Challenge 303 at SCS. I think this is a real all-purpose one, that I will use again and again.

Have a great day. I'm only going out once today, to mail my Halloween cards. Oh....and dinner last night was wonderful, and no weight gain for me!! WOW!

Wreath and Dove

Today was not a day for stamping and ink. I used my punch and Bosscut with my CB to make this for the CC. The dessert option was argyle, which I made with an eggplant and red marker.

I really love this dove, and this is the first time I have colored it to make it look more realistic.

The only stamping is the sentiment, PEACE, which comes from MFP's new set, Seasonal Poinsettias.

Off this afternoon for errands with DH, then we're joining DS/DDIL David and Sarah for dinner at a fancy new Northern Italian restaurant in an old factory!! There goes the diet again!! LOL!

Two challenges for Monday

Both challenges at SCS today were great. For the CAS, there was a fab sketch by Karen (I'm still loving the giraffe you sent me!), which is actually in white. You'd think that on a sunny day I could get a nice photo, but NO!!

The image is from Tweet Blessings, the words from seasonal Poinsettias, both MFP.

And speaking of MFP, the glitter/shimmer card for the TLC uses three MFP sets: Regal and Proud, A Walk in the Woods, and Time To Chill. I also used some fabulous lace from MFP, and had to fudge the challenge as I have never owned any pearl-ex. Hope you like it with glitter and glue pad instead.

Have a great day. I'm off to the hand specialist this morning. Will report back later.

RED Christmas cookie

For both the IC today and for Speedy's Friends Challenge, to use real or faux stitching.

This card uses a small poinsettia from the MFP set, Seasonal Poinsettias, which is brand new. There are SIX new sets that have just been shown and are available to buy right now!! They are ALL wonderful!

Have a great day. we are off to Mom's. See you tomorrow!!
