Kristine has challenged us to follow this sketch:
Here is the card I made using it:
The panel has a digi stamp, called "Cowboy" from CHF, colored in various shades of brown with some blue.
I picked up the RED in one of the background papers for one strip, and punched some stars and added brads.
Please join us this week, using Kristine's sketch and CHF stamps, old or new. You just might win some images!!!

Our 50th Anniversary!
Today is our 50th Anniversary! Who knew the time would go by so fast!!
This is the "card" I made for my Hubby, an explosion box. It's the first I've ever made, and I learned a lot doing it!
50 years ago, the night before going back to college, we eloped to NH, accompanied by my best friend and her fiancee. We told NO ONE until graduation, and I guess nobody was really surprised, just that they expected to be invited to the wedding (which neither of us wanted!!) All these years, three kids, seven grandkids later, we still enjoy each other. We laugh every day, and are still glad to be together.
Here's to my husband........handsome, tall, funny, clever, smart, hard-working, and even though I am such HIGH-maintenance, he still loves me. Who could ask for more?

CCEE1336 Birthday Card
Lois is our hostess for the month of September. Since her birthday is the 3rd, and her daughter-in-law's is the 6th, she challenged us to make a birthday card.
Obviously, this card is not going to either of them.
Obviously, this is going to a guy. Inside it says, "Whoopie, another birthday."
Please join us, adding your card

Thomas Kinkade Week
For this challenge, I used the image from the Thomas Kinkade Series, TK-301-P, called Friendship Cottage.
Inked in Spanish Moss, I think this cottage shows up really well. I used only monochromatic colors, and like how it came out.
You can see LOTS of TK stamps at Cornish Heritage Farms. Check them out HERE, and come back next week for another CHF challenge.

CCEE1335 Cracked Glass on a Vintage Card
For Vicky's last challenge, this time she chose for us to make a vintage card, using the Cracked Glass technique.
As she said, we haven't done this in ages, so it was fun to revisit!! My card uses a cream parchment bg, sepia ink, scads of layers of Versamark and clear embossing powder, and some lace and ribbons.
Please join us, linking your card HERE.

CHF34 Challenge - Use Some Green
This week I am the challenger at Cornish Heritage Farms, and the theme is Green. (Surprised it isn't RED?)
Here is the digital stamp of an alligator, with a bg of dots. I ran the green through the Mesh folder to emboss, and painted the slimy guy in peeled paint and tumbled glass. I finished it off with some punched, ribbon, and a button.
Please join us linking your card to our BLOG, and you just might win some images of your own!

Road to Recovery
This morning I made a get well card for a friend's sister. I called it "Road to Recovery", and hope Mary Ellen is on it! She had back surgery just like my son Paul's (steel rods and a "cage").
This was for both challenges today at SCS, the theme of road trip, and stamping on designer paper.
I hope this brings a smile to Mary Ellen's face as she recuperates and becomes pain free!

CCEE1334 Be An Angel Day
Our hostess Vicky challenged us to make a card using an angel. I went looking for angel clipart, and found this sweet little one!!
I used an embossing folder and a busy wide punch. A white ribbon bow at the top almost hides the birdie on the umbrella, but he's still there.
Please feel free to join us. Link your card HERE, and see what the rest of the team has done with their angels.

Honoring Past QFTD at Split Coast
Today was a day to honor Queens of the past on SCS. Since I am in full Halloween mode, that's what you get.
This first card is a case of peeps321 (Polly) who does humorous collages. Obviously this is not a collage, but her card was done in shades of green, and I hope she thinks the saying I chose is funny.
I used crackle and canvas backgrounds, a skeleton from stampers Anonymous, and saying from Art Impressions.
This card is for my friend Karen Saalfield, who recently had a knee replacement (eeewww!). She and I exchanged commiserations over our surgeries, and cards as well.
Karen was our Queen #29, and her card had two birdies punched out of newsprint. I changed the theme to Halloween of course, and used ghosts and a punched pumpkin on my Clean And Simple card.
Thanks for joining me here. Have a great day!

CCEE1333 Brick Wall
Our hostess Vicky Challenged us to make a BRICK WALL. There is a tutorial at SCS HERE showing how to do it.
This is actually my second attempt. The first went right into the trash. I asked my mother how she liked it, and she just wrinkled her nose.
I wish I had left the mouth alone on the little Magnolia. She was much better without it, but ah, well.
Please join us this week, and every week, linking your card HERE. Be sure to check out the whole design teams efforts!

Our Hostess Vicky challenged us to :
Make our own embellishments
(buttons, flowers, brads, etc.)
AND - use at least 2 designer papers
and an embossing folder.
I made my own buttons, something I seldom do, but I love them!!

Thomas Kinkade Lighthouse
This TK lighthouse was brayered with Kaleidacolor ink in shades of blue. I think the central portion with the very light blue looks like fog or haze int he morning!!
You can find a collection of Thomas Kinkade images at Cornish Heritage Farms Stamps.

CCEE1331 Guy Birthday
Our hostess for the month of August is Vicky Gould. Since it's her son-in-law's birthday, she challenged us to make a masculine birthday card, using brown, tan and green.
It occurred to me after I made a spinner that it could be a little dangerous have a car spin around, but since it's an old car, and there are no occupants, it would be a wild ride!!
Please join us, and link HERE! See you next Thursday.

CCEE1330 Color Blocking
For Sabrina's last challenge, she has chose COLOR BLOCKING - with paper as well as stamps.
I sure hope this qualifies. The bg is indeed color blocked, and each of the panels is stamped differently, so I'm going with it.
I found this fun digi stamp on the internet, and really couldn't wait to use it. All the images are colored, and some are cut out and paper pieced. I like it!
Please join us in the fun, linking your card HERE so we can enjoy it too. Come back to find out who our hostess is for August.

CHF Elvis the King
This week I decided to post the card I almost gave my DH for Father's Day. I made two, and went with the other.
This is an old image from CHF I just had to ink up!
Next week we have a sketch challenge from Kristine. I hope you will join us.

Faux Metal Fun
I had such a good time (and made such a mess!) with this metal foil tape technique.
It was the challenge at SCS last Monday, and I just didn't get around to looking at it until yesterday. I happened to ask DH if he had any of this tape, and he had two rolls!
Now that I know how to do this, I'll try it again. I need practice.

CCEE1329 Sing A Song
Sabrina challenged us this week to make a card inspired by a song. I chose "I'm In Love With You, Honey", a song from the 1930's. Here are the words:
I'm in love with you, Honey,
Say you love me too, Honey,
No one else will do, Honey,
Seems funny but it's true.
Loved you from the start, Honey,
Bless your little HEART, Honey,
Every day would be so sunny
Honey, with you.
I just loved this image from Melonheadz!

CCEE1328 Collage
Sabrina's theme this week at CCEE is to create a collage panel, using at least four different stamps. This is something that intrigues me, but I find difficult. I am really pleased with how this one came out, on the first try, yet!!!
I kept the travel theme, using five different images, then inked and punched out letters to spell TRAVEL.

Thomas Kinkade Week at CHF
Kristine had a new technique using TK stamps.......spotlighting with another color.
IRL, you can tell the difference very easily between the black background and the gray popped oval, edged in black.
Each month features a card made with an image from Thomas Kinkade found at Cornish Heritage Farms. Check back with us again.

Blue and White
This card was made for the Mixability challenge on SCS. The idea was to use different textures, media, etc.
I embossed the blue cardstock background, then foam-brushed on white acrylic paint. Embossing some vellum, I punched out butterflies, and added pearls. the final thing was a ribbon bow, but now I'm not sure .... maybe the best thing to do would be to take the ribbon off and add a couple of large pearls in the upper corner to balance it off. What do you think?
Enjoy the rest of the long weekend ..... .we celebrate with family and friends tomorrow.

CCEE1327 Let's Go To The Beach
Sabrina is our hostess for the month of July. Here is her challenge, in her own words:
"I grew up by the seaside and we spent most summer days there - when it wasn't raining, Bring your Independence Day picnic along if you want, just keep the sand out of the sandwiches."
I brought the whole beach, collected shells, and left my flip-flops at the edge of my blanket.
Please join us, linking your card HERE, and show us what her words mean to you!
See you next week for Sabrina's next theme.

CHF30 Summer
Welcome back to another Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge.
Steph chose as our theme "Summer", so I used this fun digi #352F called SUN.
I added only sky. sand, and flip flops. I think that's all the summer needs.
Please join us, and link your card HERE on our blog, where you'll find the connections to the DT.

CCEE1326 Dryer Sheet Flower
Brenda's last challenge for the month is to use the tutorial on SCS to make a dryer sheet flower. I had never done this before, and it was so easy!!
I sprayed the sheet with Summer Sun, and used gold glitter around the edges. I put the flower together with a punched flower in yellow and orange, and a pale yellow brad. The flourish is pale green, and the ink is marmalade.
I hope you will try this fun technique, and link your card HERE so we can see it too.

Here's a card I made strictly for a guy. I guess you could tell, right?
Stamped in gray, sponged in colors, mounted on dark gray, and on gray script. All I added was some gray ribbon and a button.

CCEE1325 CAS Masculine Card
Brenda challenged us to make a CAS Masculine Card for today.
This one really is simple, since I had this computer generated saying, and the A Muse lawn mower. I had some scraps of DCWV grass dp, and I think this makes a fun one.
Please join us, linking your card HERE, and join us again next Thursday.

Birds of a Feather
This is the card I made this morning for the SCS challenge, which gave us a sketch.
I guess the newest thing is to use feathers, and I just happen to have this image, and some real ones. They will be showing up more and more.
Spent the last two days with a migraine, so today I am feeling out of the picture, but I will get better as the day wears on.
Have a good day, and be sure to come back tomorrow for the CCEE Challenge card here.

CHF29 - Graduation
Steph is our hostess today on Cornish Heritage Farms. Her challenge to us was to make a Graduation card. This is very timely, as we have our grandson Jake graduating from Middle School.
I used blue cardstock, run through the Cuttlebug and "Congratulations" embossing folder. I printed my CHF digi (All Ears Dog 582D) on brown paper and cut him out, using only a little pink marker on his ears and face.
I had Jolee's graduation cap and diploma, so I added those, placing the diploma under the dog's paw as I popped him up. Easy peasy.
Please join us using your CHF images, and link HERE. You could win some fab images!!!

Ack!! Black??
The challenge today was to use black for stamping and painting. ACK!! That's something I never do.
To counteract the black, I of course used RED, and had this fab paper with all my fav colors in it.
I stippled over mesh with Twinkling H2O in garnet, removed the mesh, stamped, and painted.
This layout is from Diane, our QFTD at SCS.
Have a great day. We are hoping the rain will stop soon.

Thomas Kincade Week
The stamp is inked in Versafine Spanish Moss....what a gorgeous color! There's just enough blue in the dp to go with the ribbon, don't you think?
Please check out the wonderful Kinkade cottage stamps at Cornish Heritage Farms, and join me here next Tuesday for another CHF challenge.

Smile!
Sometimes you just have to make a pretty card. I don't usually work with pink, but this image really called for it. If you look closely, the lovely woman is fingering her strand of pearls, so those were a must too.
This was made for the Featured stamper today at Split Coast Stampers, and someone will receive it as a birthday or encouragement card. I do hope it brings a smile.
The sun is shining today, DH is officiating as the Starter in Providence at a track meet, and Mom and I are fending for ourselves. I see going out to lunch in our future!!
Have a great day, and thanks for visiting.

Excitement!
What a night we had!! It had rained all day, and when the Red Sox were postponed, we were able to see the Bruins win a shut-out against the Penguins! They get a shot at the Stanley Cup again. WOW! Then.........the rain kept coming and coming. Four inches of it (and most of it in our basement!!), and DH was up mopping until 6:10 this morning! We had plans to see friends for the first time this year, but he's just too tired for dinner and cards tonight.
The computer was sooooooo slow this morning, it took me FOREVAH to download my card for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS. It should have occurred to me it was because of the storm! DUH! Anyway, here it is. I love this set from SU - Autumn Days. It makes fab masculine cards. I hope you like it.

Lotsa Flowers for Three!
Well this was messy, but fun! I combined three challenges this morning. It's dark and raining, so I have plenty of time to clean up.
The MIX challenge was to smudge and smear......calls for gelatos, right? After adding the pistachio gelato to my paper, I painted with white acrylic before stamping Tapestry flowers around to frame my sentiment panel (Free4All - more than 4 flowers).
Our QFTD, Phyllis, had a simple card with a circle in the center which I cased.
We will be getting days of rain from the first tropical storm of the season (Andrea), which comes just in time for all the Hosta that has been transplanted from the front walk to around the trees.
Have a great day, and a fabulous weekend!

CCEE1323 Direct to Paper
Our hostess for the month of June is Brenda O'Rear (Benzi). She challenged us to use the direct to paper technique.
I stamped my ink directly from the pad (Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads) to the white background, then inked stamps to place on the squares made by the pads.
I hope you will want to join us, this week and every week for FUN! Please link your card HERE , and be sure to check out the whole team's entries.

CHF28 Father's Day
Happy Father's Day !!!

Origami!
This morning the challenge (one of three) at SCS was to make a card using origami. It was suggested that something flat would be best.
I went looking around the web, and found these simple directions for this cute bear.
The card I made with him is below. If you click on the directions you can see them full sized.
This afternoon, Julia (artystamper) is picking me up to go to the Stamp Show in Springfield. We worked this show last year for Dave Miller, the owner of Rubbernecker Stamps. We had a really good time, and when he asked us to join him again, of course we said yes! It's a lot of work, but we had fun too. It was sort of like a Big Girls Slumber Party, as Julia and I have become good friends.
We hope you will be able to get out to the Show, and hope you will come and see us at the Rubbernecker Booth, where we will be demo-ing new stuff!!

CCEE1322 It's A Picnic
For our last May Challenge, Shirley chose the theme "It's A Picnic". What could be more picnic-y than ants and watermelon???
I was happy to use my three favorite colors, RED, Black, and White.
I hope you will want to join us in making a card to go with our challenge. Please link up your card HERE
and be sure to check out the design team's cards as well. Come back and see us again next week.

Blue, Blue, Blue!
This is really funny.
For the past three days, my cards have been blue.
I didn't plan it that way, but that's how it turned out. Not a speck of RED. Never even thought of it!
Each of these cards was for a challenge at Split Coast Stampers.......
Feathers, Colors (two blues and
green), and the Sketch.
I think in all fairness, my cards for the rest of the
week should be RED, don't you think???
I hope you enjoy these cards, in spite of their color.
The rain continues, and we are so sick of it. I guess the rest of the week is supposed to be fabulous, and that just figures. Julia Aston (artystamper) and I are going to be demonstrators again for Rubbernecker stamps in Springfield MA Saturday and Sunday. If you are close enough, we would love to have you stop by and say hello!!
See you tomorrow for the CCEE challenge!
