MFP Swan and Puppy Tag

I adore this image from Mark's Finest Papers! The name of the set is Our Side of the Pond, and in addition to the swan and the cattails, there is a wonderful frog, great sayings, and a dragonfly.

I hadn't intended to take part in the CC today. We went to a reunion on Sunday, and three of the people who were there are coming for lunch today. Yesterday, DH and I spent the day cleaning!! WOW! I want to rope off the rooms, they look so nice!!

I'm working on a three day headache, and really don't have much ability to concentrate, but the challenge today was so easy, I thought a simple card was called for. I cased a card by Karen Dunbrook that was framed and masked, but with trees.

This of course is framed and masked, but with my wonderful swan. I hope you like it.

This tag is for MMTPT111 and for Speedy's Friends Challenge #20, to use Fall colors.

I needed a tag to add to a bag of snacks for a friend's birthday. I used "More of Speedy the Cat's Friends" image of the dog, added a ribbon to his neck, and some ribbons and bone charm, just for fun.

Have a great day. No comments from me until later in the week, but I promise to catch up with you all!!

Sweet Little Owl

Today the Inspiration Challenge comes from Cost Plus World Market, where there are LOTS of fabulous items to translate to a card or project.

There are wonderful owls for decorating, and I thought right away of the Bosscut owl I just love to put together. I think this makes a terrific card to send to a friend I have really been missing!!

Today is a VERY mixed bag......a memorial service for a friend who died at age 68 of pneumonia, and dinner and cards with our best friends. How's that for a Boo and a Yay?

Have a delightful day. It's feeling like Fall today, and leaves are starting to come down!

Mark’s Finest Papers - http://marksfinestpapers.blogspot.com/

Here is what I did with the Autumn Fun Set: You can see both the outside and inside of the file folder card I made with the squirrel, which I just LOVE! Below is how the card looks when the inside is where it will be when the card comes out of the envelope.

Then I decided to make a sidestep card as well, and it has already been sent to a friend who never sees Fall as we do in New England.

Stage Card and Birches Out My Window - 2 posts

Today the Technique challenge was to make a pop-up stage card. The directions were pretty easy, just time consuming to make. I put both the inside and outside here so you could see all the parts, which are MFP images.

The CAS challenge today is to make a card using a sketch. This is the first time I have inked up these beautiful birch trees. They come from a set that will be released tomorrow by Mark's Finest Papers, called "Stinky Situation". They are lovely alone, or can be used as a background.

Tomorrow begins the 4 day BLOG HOP for the new MFP sets. Be sure to come back here to see!!

I couldn't resist adding a little RED, which has been missing for a bit from my cards. The maple leaves don't really belong with the birches, but I have no birch leaves. Please bear with me!!

Have a great day. See you here tomorrow.

Keeping the RAVEN

Congratulations go out today to Emily (Stampingout), our featured stamper! Her gallery is just full of wonderful CAS cards!

I chose a card she made this week to CASE, changing very little.

The raven is from MFP's Tweet Blessings, and the sentiment is a sneak peek of MFP's Broom Rides that will be released on Tuesday.

The fence is from MS, and it's the first time I've used it .... gotta get a bunch of these punched before Oct. 31st!!

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend, and check out the MFP Blog Hop here starting the 7th.

Five ...or Three in one!

Five little pumpkins .. that is, five containers for Halloween candy!! Here is a sneak peek of a set that will be released this coming week on the 7th by Mark's Finest Papers. It's called "Broom Rides".

The challenges it encompasses are: IC248, QFTD25, and Speedy's Friends Challenge.

Speedy's Challenge this week is to use five of something. Please join us, and link your card here, and you just might win a free stamp set from MFP!

Enjoy your weekend!! Hugs to all!

Winter Bird

I cannot tell you how hard it was NOT to make this bird RED! The challenge today was to make something with a bird, and use a color from your non-favorite palette. Blue is right there!!

Everyone else in the family, with the exception of one grandson (RED), and DD (yellow), loves blue. Yuck.

Anyway, this is an image from MFP's set called Tweet Blessings, which I just adore. The tree and bird are markered, and I used acrylic paint to add a little snow on the branches and ground. The snowflake charm is from MFP as well. I know you can figure out the rest.

It's very peaceful here. Mom went home yesterday, and is doing well. I have an incredible mess to pick up, but have NO other plans, except to go out for lunch and make comments that I've sorely neglected for the past week that Mom was here.

Have a wonderful long weekend, and cross your fingers for those of us who are anticipating a visit from Hurricane Earl.

All white and DDIC

For the WT challenge, I made an all white cardstock card, only adding a little blue in the flower.

I love white cards. They are always so pretty, and occasionally elegant too.

This set is from MFP'S Butterflies, Dianthus, and Flourishes, one of my favorites.

Please look below at my entry for the DDIC today.......it's really unusual, and I just love it. Hope you do too.

DDIC # 35

Welcome back to the DDIC. This time, our Inspiration Challenge comes from this wonderful photo of this fabulous cabinet!

I went directly for the wood look, and the latch for opening the door.
I used a metal handle instead of the ring pull, and added a sentiment at the bottom, "Welcome Fall".

Please feel free to join us, and link your card here. You can see what the rest of the DT did with this challenge by going to the names on my sidebar. See you in two weeks!

Broom Rides (MFP)

I just loved the Sketch Challenge this morning!! Roxie always finds us something fun!!

The images are a preview of a set called Broom Rides. It will be available from Mark's Finest Papers next week.

Have a fun day. Mom and I went out for an hour, just looking at stamps, etc., and came home empty. Does that mean we have too much stuff???????????????????????????

Please check below for the Belli Challenge as well.

Belli Challenge #99 Old Stamp

This time the Creative Belli Challenge is to use an OLD STAMP. This card sure qualifies, as this is one of the first stamps I ever bought from Stampin' Up.

The name of the set is Fun Faces, and I love to use it on pumpkins! This set is an old one too. I added some fat cheeks, a stem, and some Sizzix leaves on the nestie.

Please join us by adding your card or project to Mr. Linky here, and be sure to look at what the rest of the Design Team has done with their old stamps.
See you in two weeks!

Big Sister!

The Color Challenge provided me today with the right stuff to make a card for the little two year old who lives next door.

Penelope became a big sister over the weekend to Scarlett Elizabeth. The card I made for the baby went in the mail to be delivered today, and it all of a sudden occurred to me I had better get one to the big sister too.

Apparently she carries around the cards I make her, so this one will be easy for her......nothing sticks out, and the ribbon can be removed.

Have a great day. I'm off to make a MMTPT card for Ms. Eula, who is turning 108 years young!! WOW!

RED for Monday

Of course we all know Delicious apples are RED, so this color was a no-brainer today.

For two challenges, the CAS, the theme of which was delicious, and for the TLC, to use cardboard.

Simple card, simple colors, great image from Mark's Finest Papers from the set called Apples and Camellia.

Have a great day. Mom says hello too!

2nd Post - Stampin' B's (Southwest Cowboy)

Lest you think I can only deal with making RED cards, here's one totally without!

For Stampin'B's challenge this week the theme is western, and the card has to be square. I used the Southwest Cowboy set from MFP. I just love everything in it.......from the sentiment to the cowboy to the cacti....everything.

I'm done for today.....time to get some lunch for DH before he passes out from hunger (you know how they are!), then the baseball game. Go RED SOX!

Double Challenge

First, thanks to those of you who sent well-wishes to Mom. She is doing pretty well .... I brought her home with me for a few days to finish recuperating. Oh, and we will also do some playing!!

This card is a case of Bobbie'sGirl (Carol) who is the FS at SCS today, and also for Speedy's Friends Challenge #18, the theme of which is friendship. I have a dear friend who will think this is very funny. It will probably result in a call and her yelling at me that I am to blame!! What fun!!

You know, of course, I had to case a card that was RED. You must have felt my withdrawal symptoms from wherever you are!

Please join us for Speedy's Friends challenge. Have a great day, and it's nice to be back home.

Hang in There!

The challenge for the WT285 today was to use a photo to make a card, layout, or project. Since I only have a few minutes, this was fast and easy for me.

I'm off to Mom's for a few days. She gets her tooth pulled this afternoon, and since we have no idea how she will react, it's better that she not be driving her Cadillac home from the Oral Surgeon's.

I'll stay a couple of days, and we'll play, just the two of us!! Have a great week. I hope you like this photo a freind sent to us!!

Sam's Last Cards, and mine for today too!

Today is Sam's last day at Camp Grandma. She'll be back when her schedule allows. Today these are the cards we made for the SC at SCS. Great Grandma is having a tooth pulled tomorrow, and we think she'll need some cheering up. Do you think these will do the trick????????

We have done a few things like go out to eat, and stop in Michael's, and play games of cards, and YAHTZEE (which is the BIG thing here!). Sam wants me to tell you about our YAHTZEE games.............. Yesterday we had six or seven Yahtzees, and did we ever laugh! We just couldn't believe it!!! We were so shocked that Sam had to call her Dad at work to tell him (and he said he didn't think he'd had that many in his whole life!!). Since it's raining, we may have to do it some more!!
'

Today it's not just raining, it's coming down really hard. We planned to go shopping, but if the rain doesn't stop, we may have to eat popcorn and candy all day. Oh! TOO BAD!!!!

Thanks for looking at Sam's cards and your comments. She sure gets a kick out of them. Seeya!

Tuesday cards from Sam and Me.

These are the cards Sam and I put together this morning in the kitchen, where the light is pretty good. Another awful rainy day, so no pool or hot tub. We did cards for (from left to right), Mary Marsh'e challenge at ODBD (Sam's), ours for MMTPT, and for the CC challenge. They are all posted in the gallery, so you can see the deets there.

We are going out to lunch with DH (Gramp) for PIZZA, then maybe to do some shopping. School starts for Sam in a couple of weeks, and she already has most of her school supplies, but one can NEVER have enough clothes, right????

We have a BIG mess in the kitchen, and we may pick up. Then again, we may just do some more, while we have the mess. Have a great day!

ODBD Challenge

My PaperDoll friend, Mary Marsh is the hostess for the SNTODB16 challenge this week.

Mary was kind enough to send me an image so I could join in. The challenge was to use a bird in a season, and since the thistle is blooming, I think it's Autumn. I painted the bird in female finch colors, as if Fall was beginning.

The deets are on my gallery on SCS.

I hope you like this, and that you will look below to see what my granddaughter Sam made today as well!

Success for Sam!

This is Sam's vacation time at Grammy and Grampy's .... a few days before school starts.

She had wonderful luck, or maybe it isn't luck but talent, at doing the Technique Lover's Challenge at SCS. (Mine is in the trash!)

Here is her card, and a picture of her at 13 so you can see how pretty she is!! She welcomes your comments, and so do I.

Speedy's Friends Challenge #17 and IC246

I thought you might like to see what inspired this card, so I put both images here. The IC today comes from Pink Taffy Designs, a website for kids items. I thought these sneakers (Tattoo Camel Boy's shoes) were just adorable. My grandsons are all wearing gigantic shoes for their humongous feet, so these shoes won't do!!

Speedy's Friends Challenge this week is to make somoething with a Harvest theme. I used MFP's set called Autumn Fun, which will be released next month, for my basket, leaves and sentiment. Please join us.....you just might win a free set!!

Jake leaves today, Sam(antha) arrives tomorrow, and I go to Mom's on Thursday to take her to have a tooth pulled, and I'll stay until I'm sure sh'e okay. The beat goes on!!!!!!!! Have a great day. Be sure to join us for a chance to win a new stamp set. Have a great day!

Baby card

The gal next door is having a girl, any day now. I made this card specifically for that new baby.

The challenge today was to make a card using stamps from different companies. I used four!

With the fabulous help of the stamp-a-majig, I got it all lined up. The deets are on my upload to my SCS gallery. Have a great day!!

Scary Cat for Halloween

The Ways To Use It challenge today is to create something with Versamark. I love to do heat embossing ... talk about instant gratification!! You can see the image take shape before your eyes! What fun.

I am giving you a sneak peek of a set called Broom Rides that will be released next month by Mark's Finest Papers. That will give you plenty of time to make you Halloween projects.
< /div>
Have a great day today, and be sure to take a look below at the Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge (because it involves CHOCOLATE!).

DDIC #34

Welcome back to another Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge!

This week our inspiration comes from some yummy candy shown at the left that was displayed in a magazine advertising ...... what else .......Lindt chocolate!!

There were a number of areas to choose from, but the candy wrapper on the left really caught my eye.

Here is the card I made:

I started with a wonderful dark brown Bazzill cardstock, and added a vine from Hero Arts in Vanilla Craft ink. The oval was punched, and backed with a light tan , and overstamped with an SU sentiment.
Lastly, I added some copper brads. I hope you like it.
Please check out the entries of the DT by going to my sidebar. If you would like to join us, link your card to our Blog here. See you again in two weeks!

Belli Challenge #98

This week the Belli Challenge asks for a round card with metal.

I used a sneak peek of a set that will be relased next month by MFP, called Autumn Fun. Isn't this squirrel so cute???

Please feel free to join us by linking your card HERE. Be sure to check the rest of the DT's entries today by going to my sidebar.

See you again in two weeks!

Sneak Peek Mum

The color challenge today uses artichoke, pretty in pink and cherry cobbler.

Of course I had to do a flower, and what better than giviing you a sneak peek of a set that will be released next month. The set is from Mark's finest Papers, and is called, Thankful Mums and Pumpkin. I think you can probably guess what else is in the set just from the name!!

We are off this morning to see our financial guy, then Jake arrives for his vacation with Mimi and Buppa. I will catch up with you when I can. Have a great day!

Nearly Autumn

I combined the two Monday morning challenges so I could get a running start on the day! Off to the grocery store to stock up......This week belongs to grandson Jake, and next to DGD Samantha. School starts after that and then it will be Autumn for sure. Where did the time go??
Have a great day. If you didn't see my pictures of my DGD Erin in her new Irish Dancing Dress, be sure to look below. See you tomorrow!

Irish Dancers Kick Butt!

I just had to start today with the new sweat pants Mom and I bought for DGD Erin at her Irish Dance Competition yesterday!! They really do (kick butt), their feet fly so high, front and back!!

Erin danced at almost 2:00 yesterday afternoon, two hours late. Seems they always run late! But it was so worthwhile sitting there, watching all the boys and girls in their fabulous dresses (and fancy vests and ties!). The huge DCU Center in Worcester MA was FREEZING. We wished we had worn something warmer, but that was the only drawback.

Erin earned three medals, and we just adored seeing her in her new Solo dress. Below are some pictures I took so you could see her getting ready at home, and in all her finery.
