Our hostess for the month of September is Frances. She says:
"The 3rd of September was Skyscraper Day. For our challenge this week let's make tall cards."
This card will go to my daughter, Amy, who always has twenty things going at once. I thought this would bring a smile. I used hats from a number of different sets, and the paper pieced crazy cat.
Thanks for looking. Please join us, and add your card to our blog HERE.

"Who knew the moth would have a whole week dedicated to it. Use a moth (or butterfly) on your card today. Extra credit if you actually have a moth stamp/digi you can use. This is an opportunity to add to your birthday, thank you, thinking of you or just all-occasion card stash! Let the bugs fly!
This image of moths is from Tim Holtz, colored and spritzed.

CCEE1928 Cheer the Lonely
Vicky's challenge:
"Most of us probably know an older person who may or may not live alone. Let's make a Thinking of You card, and actually send it out. If you don't know anyone, send it to a local nursing home and address it to "Someone Special" or any other phrase you can think of. Let's cheer up some people today!"
Images from Penny Black always make me smile!

GREEN!
Now that the pool is gone, we are trying to grow some grass..........
Luckily (?) we have had LOTS of rain, so we are partway there!
In the meantime, our Hosta
has multiplied since adding it to the island last year, and we are seeing
new spikes in bloom on our Yuccas! Those creamy bells are just gorgeous! Nice to see a lot of green. The grands are missing seeing the pool, but we are not missing all the work!

For fun, I used our colors to make a Christmas card!!

Blog Hop For Joanne (jojot)
In honor of our very dear friend and colleague on the CCEE team, this card is posted in remembrance of what a creative and fun person Joanne Grzelak was to all of us.
I have recently had hand surgery, and was not able to make a card. Instead I am posting a card Joanne made and sent to me. It's so typical of her style, especially the piercing that was always done so perfectly!
Joanne sent me cards on a regular basis. We met at a stamp show in Springfield MA a number of years ago where I was a demonstrator. She surprised me by coming up to me and announcing herself. It set off giggles, and we became friends - more than just in "cyberland".
Here is one of her cards that I have treasured (I have saved them ALL!).
Most of the cards she made for me were RED, my favorite color, but this one shows how detailed her cards really were.
I shall sorely miss her, and this blog in her honor (which would have embarrassed her!), is a tribute to a fabulous stamper, and a wonderful person. Love you, my friend.

CCEE1926 Catfish Day
For her last challenge this month, Lois says Tuesday the 25th was National Catfish Day. She asks us to create a card that has some kind of fish or sea life on it.
I don't know whether this is a bass or not, but it goes to Jake, our family fisherman. He loves to get funny cards, so here is the inside:

Lois next challenges us to make a card with some stitching on it, in honor of Sewing Machine Day (today). It can be actual stitching, faux stitching, or stitch edged dies.
I used real sewing and also a stitched edge rectangle. I thought you might want to see the saying on the inside, so that's below.

We have had graduations, Sam from College, a Criminal Justice major, and soon to Law School:
With David and Sarah, the proud parents
And Jay and me, the grandparents who got to go too,
And John, who graduated from High School, hopefully off to the Job Corps
and parents, Amy and Tom
and the grands, who got to go as well.
The brother and sister were proud of him too - Tom and Erin
And then there was Erin's Nick, (she graduated last year), a Mechanical Engineer, off to work for the Government (torpedo something?)
And finally, Oli, (the great grandchild!) who graduated from Kindergarten,

CCEE1923 High School Subject
Lois is our hostess for the month of June. She says:
"This is the 60th anniversary of my graduation from high school - June 9, 1959. so our challenge this week is to make a card depicting your favorite subject in school.
I LOVED geometry. This card uses geometric shapes in yellow, with a mustard saying, on cream cardstock. I think it's kind of interesting that I married a high school Mathematics teacher (but we do NO geometry in this household!), and one of our sons was a Math major in college!
Please join us, adding your card HERE.
