CCEE1516 A Favorite Book for Inspiration

Our challenge today is an inspiration, as this is National Librarian Day.  We are to use a book (children's or adult's) on which to base our cards.  Here's mine:

One of my favorites is "The Time Traveler's Wife".  I thought this beautiful large image was perfect for portraying beauty, travel, and pensiveness (as she wonders where Henry is, and what year it may happen to be!).

The color didn't show up well, but it's in lavender and purple.  I added some die cut poppies and a ribbon to finish it off.

Please join us, and let us know your favorite book too!

CCEE1515 Stencil

Our challenge from Frances today is to use a stencil.  Easy peasy!

My card uses a single stencil that I bought about 15 years ago in the wallpaper department. I guess it was about time I used it!!

Please join us the fun and show us your stencil!

Here's mine:

I used some crimping and piercing to go along with my funny image.  The inside says, "Heard you caught a bug.  Hope you get rid of it soon!"

This week the Classy cards 'n Such Challenge has a quilt for inspiration.

http://classycardsnsuch.blogspot.com/2015/03/ccns-challenge-74-be-inspired.html

And here's the card it inspired:

I loved the cars, fences, palm trees, so I decided we had to go with a "WOODY", Dude, to hang ten on a RED surfboard at the beach.  I hope you like it, and that you will join in the fun of the challenge.

CCEE1508 The Moon

Interestingly, because February is a short month, there can actually be years in which there is no full moon at all.  The last time this happened was 1999, the next time will be 2018.  So while this isn't one of those years, the challenge from Sabrina is to feature the moon.

Here's mine:

Inside it says, "Don't worry if you're making waves simply being yourself.  The moon does it all the time".  (Scott Stabile)

Please join us.

Oh Dear!

Here is my dear and sweet husband, snow blowing with a bad cold, bad throat, and a temperature of 101, and a cough that kept him up all night.  We are having more snow tomorrow.  Hardly fair.

He is 6'4" tall...can you imagine how deep our snow is???????????

Hot Tub and Pool?

There is a hot tub and a  pool under all this snoow.  The fence is six feet high, so that gives you a pretty good idea of the depth.  This month we have had over 100 inches of snow.  Enough already!!!

CCEE1507 Pearls

The Finnish word for February is "helmiku" which means "month of the pearl'.  That's  our challenge for this week.  We may use a pearl technique, liquid pearls, or real pearls.

I used pearls on the stick pin, the umbrella, and on the corners of the card.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and is water colored.  Please join us, and come back again next week!
