CCEE1228 Reverse Masking

Our Hostess for July is Lois, who chose to have us make a card using Reverse Masking.

I used my CB to cut a flourish, then used it as a stencil with Mellow Moss ink.  The little flowers are punches, filled in with pearls and liquid pearls.  The sentiment is from MFP's Dogwood Blossoms.

TTSTV Challenge 6 - Side Step Tutorial

Today I am the hostess for the Speedy TV Tutorial. Here it is:

Stair Step Card Tutorial

Supplies:

Paper, inks, scissors, cutter and Scor-Pal, stamps, punches

                                                        Step 1

                                    Cut cardstock 8 ½” x 5 ½”

                                         

                                                  Step 2

Fold card to A2 size (5 ½” x 4 ¼”).  Place in cutter, and cut from fold 
at 1 ½” down to 1 ½”.  On Scor-Pal, score at 1 ½” and 3”.  Turn card over, and score at 1 1/2" and 3" as before. (Be sure NOT to score the left side!)

Your folding should look like this……..stairs on the right.

Step 4

I finished my card with stamped images, punches, piercing, and dimensionals

LAST posting (CCEE below)

This is my LAST posting for a while.  The challenge was to use tissue.  I looked for some tissue paper, and when I couldn't find any, I decided to use kleenex tissue.

The technique is faux silk, and I think it came out pretty well.

No stamping, but plenty of die cuts, and some punches and pearls.

Got a call from the surgeon's office, and I am to be at the hospital at 6:45 tomorrow morning.  I'll be glad to eventually be rid of the pain in my thumb, but not the recuperation I know will be lengthy.

Sooooooooo....this is my last for a while.  enjoy your summer!

CCEE1227 Three Circles

Our hostess, Lois, challenged us to make a card using three circles.  It looks like there is one circle, but actually, there are four.

The three layers of the flowers are circles.......at least that's how they began.  And of course they are RED!

Christmas in July

Today the sketch challenge was easy, and pretty interesting too.

I used a new summer set from MFP - A Heinrich Co. called "Christmas Cardinals".  I think it was time for some RED!

Happy 4th of July.  Ours started out with rain, but the sun has come out, and it will be hot and humid.  Perfect for stying inside, and having DH cook out!

CHF04 - Birthday

Today's Challenge theme is Birthday. I thought this card would be a good summer birthday card for a guy.

I used all digi stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms on this card, and popped a lot of layers for dimension.

The digis are: shells - 762C, 228D
                     chest - 460G
                     sentiment - 987D

Two for MOnday

Here are the two cards I made for today.  This one using Island Life from MFP - A Heinrich Co. is for the Clean And Simple challenge.  We were to use navy, olive and white.  Check!

This one is for the Technique Lovers Challenge.  I used another MFP set, Silly Shells, for embellishing the sunshine rays as asked.

this may be my last posting for a while.  My youngest grandson is here for his vacation until Thursday night, and Friday morning I have hand surgery.  I will be in a cast for two months, and of course it's my dominant hand, so that's it for the summer for me.

Stampin' Sisterhood Challenge #19

The Stampin' stisterhood Challenge for this month is to make a card using THIS photo for inspiration.

I used the Kittie Kit called Beach (from Rubbernecker Stamps).  I added some die cut clouds and a shell with a pearl in place of the starfish. The sentiment from Rubbernecker (647-07 2012 Sentiments #2 - Memories and Flowers) uses only the last two words.

Today we are getting ready for our annual 4th of July party, this time held on the 30th of June.  Food to fix, seating outdoors to figure out, a little cleaning.  We understand the weather tomorrow is going to cooperate, so time will be spent in the hot tub and pool, and eating what comes off the grill.  I wish you all could come!! Since my grandson is graduating from high school this month, I felt a tag card was the best idea for him.

This is the card I made for the Sketch Challenge today at SCS.  It was easier than it looks.

I used all shades of green, primarily Wasabi, and a DCWV print.

Most Toys

This card combines the two challenges at SCS today.  Just had to use my favorite color combination.

After a weekend of family, and a migraine all day Sunday, today we are dealing with scattered thunderstorms.  Sure explains the headache!

Woodland Leaves

Lots of challenges and blog hops are done.  Today I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge on SCS, and used NO stamps.

Today is the graduation party for our grandson Nate.  It looks like it's not going to be the best day for a cookout.....scattered showers, hot and humid.  I think those of us oldsters will spend more time indoors.

It will be nice to see the whole family, and we'll be doing it again next week here, for our annual 4thof July party.  At our house, it's easier to have a big group........pool, hot tub, big yard, central AC!

TTSTV Tutorial - Challenge #4 Heat Embossing

Our tutorial hostess today is Debbie, who challenged us to do Heat Embossing.

I love this technique!  I used Welcome Poppies, and embossed the image in white EP on black cs.  Of course I had to add a lot of  RED .....including some corners with pearls and a ribbon bow.

CCEE1225 Masculine Challenge

Today our theme is a Masculine card.  I love this "Woody" from Rubbernecker stamps.  I love the sentiment too!  I hope you think this is a good guy card, since I added the brads shaped like screws.
