Sneak peek - A Walk in the Woods

Today's sneak peek from MFP is called A Walk in the Woods. It's one of the six sets to be available on Tuesday of this coming week.

This is for two challenges, Speedy's Friends (stripes) and the IC at SCS today.

I chose a RED (of course!) linen placemat from the John Lewis Dept. Store in London. The deets are in my gallery which you can easily get to by going to my sidebar.

Have a great LONG weekend. Mom is here, and we'll be seeing some kids and grands. Yay!

Thankful For You

The WT today is to use tissue paper. I haven't done that in a long time. I followed Beate's tutorial, as I had forgotten what to do!!

Here is another sneak peek of a new set from MFP that will be released next Tuesday, called Thankful For You. A fab set for this time of year!!

Busy day today.....and surely not on my diet!! Lunch out for Chinese with long-time friends, then dinner, just me and my DS. DH has a meeting in Boston, so it will just be David and me. I haven't seen him without his family in forevah, so this will be wonderful!! Have a great day!

Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge #37

Welcome to another Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge. This week our inspiration is to come from this picture of a set of wonderfully packaged soaps.

The box is lovely all by itself, and the various designs on each of the soaps is so different!! Lots of choices here, right???

I chose the box itself as the color of the background. I really liked the purple color of the soap packaging in the middle, and believe it or not, that's the color of this card. Photos just don't show true color at times! I used a dp that was suggested by the crests, and used the stamp image that had a crown.

I hope you like it, and that you will join us in this challenge. You may link your card here
and while there, please check the other Diva entries (or you can go to my sidebar). See you again in two weeks!

Sneak Peek #2!

This card for the SC301 at SCS is a sneak peek of a new release from Mark's Finest Papers. This, and five other sets, will debut next Tuesday!!

I adore this set. The snowman is adorable, I love the tree, the sentiment..........but wait! There's more! More images and more sentiments in Snowman Country!! You will just love it!

I used the out of the box, and also paper tearing, technique, sponges, markers, and my favorite RED on this Christmas card. Chalk up one more for my stash!!

Raining all night and day (again!), and terribly dreary. Hope your day has sunshine in it!!

Thankful For You

Today I am using a brand new set that will be released a week from today by Mark's Finest Papers. The set, one of SIX new ones, is called Thankful For You. It has wonderful Fall/Thanksgiving images and sentiments!!

I made this card for two challenges, the CC291, and MMTPT114.

I can hear you thinking, what does this have to do with computers and the teaparty............well,

Farmer Gates is in the process of cutting down all the cornstallks to sell as Fall decorations. There is only one left standing in the field. Underneath it, there is a whole MOUSE family. Do you get it now????

Have a great day. Dark and rainy, but at least it's NOT SNOW!

Elegant Forest

The challenge site this morning on SCS is a Turkish wallpaper company called Studio Nommo. I chose a picture of beautiful and graceful trees in a soft shade of green for inspiring this card. The image is from "Stinky Situation" by MFP.

I left off a sentiment on purpose. I felt the image would be compromised.

Busy day today, so I'm off after posting here. Tom and Cheryl will join us for dinner and card games, and I also have DGS Jake for the weekend. He's 11 years old, so he doesn't need much care, and loves to play cards with us.
Enjoy the weekend. It's lovely here with full sun!

Holey Chickadee! and Charmed

The challenge today on SCS is HOLES. I used my nesties to make a hole in the front of the cs after cbing with Swiss Dots. Then I made a plain frame, and decorated it to show off this wonderful birdie!

The image is from Mark's Finest Papers, and the set is called Ferns & Chickadee. I sponged the bg in caribbean, and painted the bird and branch in sahara and caramel.

I know this card is a little bit out of season, but I just got so tired of making Autumn and Halloween card, with their orangey colors.

The first card was so much fun that I did another.

This one uses the sets Our Side of the Pond and Speedy the Cat's Friends from MFP. I just got a new CB frame, so I used that, and added a MS punched crown.

That's it for today. Enough, don't you think??

Have a great day. We are feeling the effects of Hurrican Nicole today - BIG winds!

2nd Post - Ribbon Rose

StampinB's challenge today is to use my FAVORITE colors......RED, black, and white.

I have a book that shows how to make all kinds of things with ribbon, and my first attempt is this ribbon rose in DARK RED!

I also put it in the WT gallery today, as I made the sentiment be a banner. I hope you like it...really CAS!

Birthday Banner

Hard to get a good photo on a dark and rainy day, but here is the card I just made for the WT290 challenge on SCS: Banners.

For a CAS, this was not so simple. In order to get letters the right size for the party hat punch, I had to use a marker on individual letters from phrases I took out of two sets from MFP, Broom Rides and Cupcake Birthday. I think they worked really well.

Thanks for looking. Have a fun day!

Celebrating # 300!!

Today marks the #300th Sketch Challenge at SCS. There are LOTS of prizes to be won, and numbers will be picked at random for them, so be sure to add your card today.

The challenge is an easy layout, and I had a couple of ideas as to what I wanted to do. I had the wonderful cat image sent to me by a friend, so that one was first. This will be off to my mother.

The second card uses a new set at Mark's Finest Papers called Broom Rides. I stamped the tree three times, added the bats, and popped the ghost. I had fun punching some MS goodies, and couldn't resist adding some googlie eyes.

Thanks for joining me here today, and please look below at today's Belli Challenge as well.

Creative Belli Challenge #101

The Belli Challenge this week is to use numbers as embellishments. What I love about this challenge is that we are to use what's already in our stash, NOT go out and buy something new.

I have had these chipboard numbers for at least two years. About time I used them, huh? This will go to my Uncle Warren who will soon be 80. He is a hobby woodworker, making wooden toys for children. I think he will like this card.

Please join us in the challenge by linking a card here. Be sure to check out the rest of the DT, and join us again in two weeks.

CC - Hello from the Bees

For some reason I just couldn't fall asleep last night. Luckily, even though there were problems at SCS, I could go to Betty's blog and get the Color Challenge. After making my card, and a posting that I crossed my fingers over, I went back to bed, and sometime after 2 AM, slept.
I love this matching dp from Dejaviews. The only stamping is one of the bees from Blackberries, Sunflower and Bees from MFP.
I have an offer from DH to go with him to his office, and run a few errands, so we will be off for the day.
An update: He is thrilled with the extra space in his office here at home, and my desk probably works out better in another room where it has found a home itself. It also meant a thorough cleaning, which was long overdue!! Have a great day!

Pink Thank You

This is my card for two challenges this morning, a long overdue thank you to my friend Elaine in PA.
This morning has been big trouble. I woke up late, and DH was moving furniture in his office. The bottom line is he needs more space, so MY desk is out. More on that later!!
Have you ever used construction paper on a card? I found this wonderful pink, that I split with Mom, and had a terrible time with it!! I hope it arrives at Elaine's in this condition. If you have used this stuff before PLMK any tips you have.
It's a dark rainy day here, so I might just as well do furniture moving. Not what I planned, but it's better than having to go to work!! LOL! Have a good one, and I would really appreciate hints!

Casing Sallie!!

The FS today at SCS is hobbydujour, Sallie, who makes gorgeous cards. These two are cased from two of her beauties, and are put together because of their style.

I'm really pleased with how they came out, even though the pink one gave me fits! I tried to use the scor-pal in two different ways, and still haven't found how she does it so easily!!

Enjoy your day, and please take a look at sallie's gallery. Tell her I sent you!!

RED Rudolph

Is there such a thing as too much RED! Have I gone over the edge??? This week, I have done three white/RED combinations in a row. Are you sick of them yet???

The IC today comes from a German company that makes all kinds of interesting pieces to use for inspiration. If you go to my gallery on SCS by visiting my sidebar, you can see all the particulars. No need of reiteration here.

Have a great day, and PLMK what you think. Is it toomuch???

RED birds

This top card is my second for today.......I was not altogether happy with the first one below.

I liked the idea of RED and white, but the background didn't work for me.

This one is better, I think. The same theme and set of stamps, and includes piercing for the StampinB's challenge too, and also uses the new Scroll EF and CB.

Check out the other card, and PLMK what you think.

Don't tell me that flowers and snowflakes don't go together! I had intended to make a Christmas card, but those branches and flowers just jumped out at me. Or maybe it was the other way around. At any rate, here's my card for the Free For All today.

The cardinal comes from Mark's Finest Papers. The set is called Tweet Blessings.

Have a wonderful day today, and a great weekend. DS and family are coming for dinner tonight, and I'm goiing to try to stay on my diet!

Blessings For Christmas

The WT today challenged us to make a holiday card. I'm so glad this was Julia's choice..........I hadn't started mine, and there's not a lot of time left!!

The stamp set I used is from MFP, called Tweet Blessings. I think it could be called a CAS card, as there are no real layers, just a RED strip with a white one over it.

I love this set, not Just because it has a big Speedy the Cat.........the flowers and leaves are wonderful too. Thanks for looking. Have a nice day!

Autumn Days

I just love Autumn. I love the colors and the smells. I have had an awful felling that because our summer was so hot and dry, that Fall this year will be short and not nearly as colorful as usual.

This card is for the SC today. I love last year's IN colors of curry and durango. I think they really work well together on my card.

I purposely left off a sentiment, because I'm not sure if this will be sent for Thanksgiving or someone's birthday, etc. I am also loving the MS punch of leaves. Can you tell?

Have a great day. See you tomorrow!

Sample for the Color Challenge

Betty, hostess of the Color Challenge at SCS asked three of us to make samples using today's colors: Cajun Craze, Baja Breeze, and Wild Wasabi. The dessert option was chicklet sentiments (words cut out separately).

I couldn't resist a Fall card using MFP's new set called Fall Fun. I love this squirrel, and only added some clouds and a bunch of little punched leaves.

I hope you think this card is cute, and that you will join us in the challenge. Be sure to check out the new images just released at Mark's Finest Papers HERE
