About this time of year I start thinking about island breezes.  I guess the prospect of Winter approaching gets the better of me.

CCEE1341 Football

My challenge to the team at CCEE this week, in honor of Bret Favre's birthday, is to make a card with a football theme.

I love this image made by Bonibleaux Designs (that unfortunately went out of business) of a Tight End named Ted.  I wouldn't want to be facing him on the field!!

CHF37 Halloween/Fall

This week I am the hostess at Cornish Heritage Farms, and I challenged the DT to a theme of Halloween or Fall.

I used rubber stamps from the set called "Fall Harvest".  I love the stamp of Indian Corn.....that really says Fall to me!

CCEE1340 Ovals

I am the CCEE hostess for this month. 

Opal is the October gemstone.  Since they are oval, I challenged the Team to make an oval card or to use ovals.

My card has four ovals.......I guess that's enough!

Snowy Night

Today I used a basic sketch from SCS.  I adjusted it a bit to make it fit the idea I had........

Mom and I are making our Christmas card stash, and having fun making a mess.  My craft room is so overcrowded we are forced to use the kitchen.  Bit by bit, we will have everything in two rooms a wreck!!

We are off to enjoy a lunch at our favorite place.....we sit at the bar and have a glass of wine while we wait for our order.  Who could ask for more?

Thomas Kinkade from CHF

There is a new group of images at Cornish Heritage Farms, all from Thomas Kinkade.  The stamps are fabulous!!

For this image, called "The Good Life", I brayered with Spanish Moss, and highlighted with markers and sponges.

The sentiment is also CHF.

CCEE1339 Johnny Appleseed Day

Today is Johnny Appleseed Day.  Our hostess Lois, for her last theme of the month, challenged us to make a card using some kind of fruit (extra points for apples).  How could I resist the extra points??  Here's what I made:

This is the first time I have used only one sheet of paper for the entire card.  WOW!  Can you believe that??  I embossed the bg, scored the panel, die cut leaves, versamarked and RED embossed the apple, punched a fence, and stamped a sentiment all on green Bazzill.  The fence and words are popped.  I hope you like it.

CHF36 Mushrooms

Frances is our hostess today at Cornish Heritage Farms.  She challenged us to make a card with mushrooms.

I chose this cute bunch of mushrooms digi stamp at CHF, coloring them with olive, river rock and caramel markers.  The saying I wrote on white, and punched it out. 

I think this will be a fun card to send to a friend who loves the out-of-doors, and is a mushroom lover.

Toothless!

When I saw this graphic of the toothless old witch, I was destined to use it for a Halloween card.   I added a two part sentiment (and a spider - EEEEAWWWWWW!), I'm Not Evil........I'm Just Up To No Good!

CCEE1338 One-Layer Card

The week of September 15-21 is National Singles Week.  To celebrate this, Lois challenged us to make a one-layer card.

I used a stencil to sponge the footprints, and pinking shears to cut the RED border.  A cute saying and the dog has a RED ribbon added......and Voila! , a one-layer card.

CHF Pirate Map

Today I'm posting a card I made with digis from Cornish Heritage Farms.

I love the combination of the map, skull, and saying.  I actually used a needle and some raffia to attach the map to the black background.

CCEE1337 Fun Fold

Our challenge this week comes again from Lois Bak (Clownmom), who has challenged us to make a fun fold card.


I have posted two pictures so you can see my card closed and then opened.


The card is made from a piece of cardstock, that measures 5 1/2" x 12".  It is scored along the long side at 2", 4", 8", and 10".

   

You can see how the folds bend, and how the owls made with the SU owl punch are applied.


I added a branch to the bottom section, and clouds to both sections.  On the inside, I punched out three circles for balloons, added strings with a marker, and stamped the sentiment.


The finished size of the card is 5 1/2" x 4" when it is closed, and will easily fit into an envelope.  I hope  you like it.

CHF35 Sketch Challenge

Here is the card I made using it:

The panel  has a digi stamp, called "Cowboy" from CHF, colored in various shades of brown with some blue.

I picked up the RED in one of the background papers for one strip, and punched some stars and added brads.

Our 50th Anniversary!

Today is our 50th Anniversary!  Who knew the time would go by so fast!!

This is the "card" I made for my Hubby, an explosion box.  It's the first I've ever made, and I learned a lot doing it!

50 years ago, the night before going back to college, we eloped to NH, accompanied by my best friend and her fiancee.  We told NO ONE until graduation, and I guess nobody was really surprised, just that they expected to be invited to the wedding (which neither of us wanted!!)  All these years, three kids, seven grandkids later, we still enjoy each other.  We laugh every day, and are still glad to be together.

Here's to my husband........handsome, tall, funny, clever, smart, hard-working, and even though I am such HIGH-maintenance, he still loves me.  Who could ask for more?

CCEE1336 Birthday Card

Lois is our hostess for the month of September.  Since her birthday is the 3rd, and her daughter-in-law's is the 6th, she challenged us to make a birthday card.

Thomas Kinkade Week

For this challenge, I used the image from the Thomas Kinkade Series, TK-301-P, called Friendship Cottage.

Inked in Spanish Moss, I think this cottage shows up really well.  I used only monochromatic colors, and like how it came out.

CCEE1335 Cracked Glass on a Vintage Card

For Vicky's last challenge, this time she chose for us to make a vintage card, using the Cracked Glass technique.

As she said, we haven't done this in ages, so it was fun to revisit!!  My card uses a cream parchment bg, sepia ink, scads of layers of Versamark and clear embossing powder, and some lace and ribbons.

CHF34 Challenge - Use Some Green

This week I am the challenger at Cornish Heritage Farms, and the theme is Green. (Surprised it isn't RED?)

Here is the digital stamp of an alligator, with a bg of dots.  I ran the green through the Mesh folder to emboss, and painted the slimy guy in peeled paint and tumbled glass.  I finished it off with some punched, ribbon, and a button.

Road to Recovery

This morning I made a get well card for a friend's sister.  I called it "Road to Recovery", and hope Mary Ellen is on it!  She had back surgery just like my son Paul's (steel rods and a "cage").

This was for both challenges today at SCS, the theme of road trip, and stamping on designer paper.

I hope this brings a smile to Mary Ellen's face as she recuperates and becomes pain free!

CCEE1334 Be An Angel Day

Our hostess Vicky challenged us to make a card using an angel.  I went looking for angel clipart, and found this sweet little one!!

I used an embossing folder and a busy wide punch.  A white ribbon bow at the top almost hides the birdie on the umbrella, but he's still there.
