CCEE1516 A Favorite Book for Inspiration
Our challenge today is an inspiration, as this is National Librarian Day. We are to use a book (children's or adult's) on which to base our cards. Here's mine:
One of my favorites is "The Time Traveler's Wife". I thought this beautiful large image was perfect for portraying beauty, travel, and pensiveness (as she wonders where Henry is, and what year it may happen to be!).
The color didn't show up well, but it's in lavender and purple. I added some die cut poppies and a ribbon to finish it off.
Please join us, and let us know your favorite book too!

CCEE1508 The Moon
Interestingly, because February is a short month, there can actually be years in which there is no full moon at all. The last time this happened was 1999, the next time will be 2018. So while this isn't one of those years, the challenge from Sabrina is to feature the moon.
Here's mine:
Here's mine:
Inside it says, "Don't worry if you're making waves simply being yourself. The moon does it all the time". (Scott Stabile)

Oh Dear!
Here is my dear and sweet husband, snow blowing with a bad cold, bad throat, and a temperature of 101, and a cough that kept him up all night. We are having more snow tomorrow. Hardly fair.
He is 6'4" tall...can you imagine how deep our snow is???????????

Hot Tub and Pool?
There is a hot tub and a pool under all this snoow. The fence is six feet high, so that gives you a pretty good idea of the depth. This month we have had over 100 inches of snow. Enough already!!!

CCEE1507 Pearls
The Finnish word for February is "helmiku" which means "month of the pearl'. That's our challenge for this week. We may use a pearl technique, liquid pearls, or real pearls.
I used pearls on the stick pin, the umbrella, and on the corners of the card. The image is from A Day For Daisies and is water colored. Please join us, and come back again next week!

CCEE1506 Royal
Our hostess for the month of February is Sabrina Friel. she reminds us that February 6th, 1952 was the day Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne. She challenged us to make a card featuring crowns or royal images (and that playing cards could work for this too).
Here's mine:

I'm the WINNER!
Classy Cards n Such is a new site for me. They have a challenge every week, and this was the first time I entered.........and WON! I need to thank my friend, Shirley, for passing along the information.
Here's the card I made for their LETTER IT challenge, a shaker card. I laid the card down to take the photo, so all the beads wouldn't be in the bottom.
Thanks for looking, and you can visit them HERE for this coming week's challenge.

CCEE1505 Bleached Out Images
For her last week as hostess, Vicky has chosen to challenge us to make a card using the Bleached Out Image tutorial, found here:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/bleached_out_images/
I really love the way this looks. The bg is embossed with a Spellbinders rose folder. I used layered nesties to support my panel with a stamp from Walmart, embossed in white, bleached, and painted. I hope you like it too.

Crazy Like a Fox
Yesterday we spent a few hours with Julia (artystamper) and Kent, who invited us and two other couples for a birthday celebration. I'm not saying how old Kent is, but he's younger than we are. After drinks, appetizers (YUM!), salad, soup, and sandwiches, we had birthday PIE (pecan, my fav), and the men were excused while the women crafted.
Julia got a new template and stamps, had everything all set up for us, and this is what we made. I normally don't post something I'm not proud of. Just look at this in terms of how cute it is, not how badly I put it together!
Thanks Julia (and Kent) for a fun time, and for a new crafting idea!!

The DECA Convention was held today, and two of my grands went to compete. Erin is a senior and Tommy is a freshman at Wachusett High School. Here they are:
This was Tommy's first crack at being at DECA, but Erin had been last year, and received a Second Place.
Tommy did not place, but he will try again. Erin, however, won a FIRST!!!!!!!!! Here she is at home with her trophy:
Way to go Erin!!!! She will compete in Boston, and WHEN she wins there, it's off to the Nationals in Florida! WOW!
