CCEE1240 Chipboard

Our Hostess for the month of October is Brenda, aka Benzi.  Her challenge for the CCEE is to use chipboard.

I used chipboard letters colored with a gold pen.  The bg is the Spider Web ef, and the ghost is a die from Sizzix.  All I did was pop up the ghosst and tie some ribbon on the "O".

Please join us this week, and every Thursday, linking your card HERE so we can see what you have done too.

It's Officially Fall! and NEWS!

Today is the last day of Red Sox baseball.  That makes it Fall in my book.  The leaves are changing color, and football has replaced baseball in this house.

My card is for the Sketch Challenge at SCS today.  I love this sentiment, and Kaleidacolor Pumpkin has the most fabulous Autumn hues!

Now to the news.............

I was asked to accept a position at CHF for the next year.  They chose seven of the original 20 to continue, and I was one! I accepted right away.

You'll be seeing more Cornish Heritage Farms images from me in a little while.  Please come back and check often!

Two cards for today

This card was made for the MMTPT challenge......to make a card with yellow.

This is in the mailbox waiting to be picked up this morning.  It's going to a lady in FL named Jean, who is a terminal cancer patient.  She loves yellow.

I hope this card brings some sunshine to her day!
This one is for the color challenge........purple, orange, green.

How could I pass up an opportunity to add to my stash of Halloween cards?

I used a wonderful die cut ghost and some die cut clouds as well. the grass and moon are punches.  I had some twine that just matched, and I think the BEWARE is the perfect sentiment.

Thanks for looking.  Have a fun day.

Christmas in Blue

My card on the left in BLUE is a case of Vicki's wonderful Christmas card.  She is our Featured stamper today, and has so many lovely cards in her gallery.

I changed the colors and embossing folder, punched out the ornament, and kept a monochromatic theme for the holidays.  I hope you (and she) likes what I have done.

Enjoy the day!

Triple Layer

This is the first triple layer card I have ever made.....and it's EASY!!  I made this card to honor my friend Peggy, who was the QFTD on SCS when I was unaable to stamp.

It's also for the Inspiration Challenge today.  I love blue and RED birds, so this was a no-brainer!

We still are hacking and coughing, and the rain is still with us.  DH is bailing out the basement and garage as usual!  Guess how happy he is!!!!!

CCEE1239 Make Your Own

Our September hostess, Sabrina Friel, challenged us to make our own designer paper today.

I used Rubbernecker stamps from the set 480 Fall Trilogy.  Those in the bg for the dp are done in Sepia, and then run through the cb to add texture.  The leaves on the cb'd leaf are colored with Pumpkin Kaleidacolor.  I edged with sepia, punched out a couple of leaves, and made the veins with Suede.  I finished off the card by adding ribbon.

Please join us HERE, linking your card so we can enjoy it too.  See you again next week for new challenges.

Halloween Scene

I'm almost done catching up on the QFTD challenges I've missed.  This card is a case of one done by YLM (Cindy) at SCS.

I used the Sketch Challenge for today, and replaced her image with the gravestone.  I really like the way the sppoky clouds came out.  I hope Cindy likes what I did.

CHF10 - Twine/Hemp/Linen thread

Our hostess this week, Holly, asked us to use twine, hemp, linen thread, baker's twine, whatever.  I couldn't resist this beautiful lion (#939), stamped on cork, layered with black, and on a really African dp.  The Twine was a perfect addition, I think.

Please join us HERE, and link your card.  Be sure to check out the entries of the DT, and look for another challenge in two weeks.

Just catching up!

Today I am doing some catching up on the QFTD I have missed. This one is in honor of Barbie P., who was our Queen#125.

Below is the card for Marie-alice, our Queen #126.  Her card was called "Smiles, and had a dog and pawprints.

This last card is for the combined challenges at SCS today.......... the Technique (dots) and Clean and Simple (sketch).

Now I have only three more to honor.  I hope to have them ready by the end of the week!

We all have awful colds, Mom still has Bronchitis!!  Wish us well!

Time for Sue

I figured out how to put three images in a picture. Yay!

My card is on the left, in case you wondered. I cased Sue (bensarmom), our QFTD 124 (I'm catching up!), and her card is in the upper right. Belated congrats Sue!

The lower left shows the inspiration that produced my card from the Bella Soleil website. This clock was called "Rustic Iron Wall Clock".

For Queen Joanne

Joanne (jojot) Grzelak is our newly named Queen For The Day.  she is not only a talented stamper (who does fabulous layouts with piercing), but one of the nicest gals I know!

This card is a poor case of hers.  I will never be able to pierce the way she does!!

Congratulations Girlfriend.  Enjoy the cards made in your honor today!

CCEE1238 Food or Drink

Sabrina Friel, our hostess for the month of September, challenged us to make a card with a food or drink theme.

I used Rubbernecker images:
639-01 Martini Glass
639-06 Garnish Set
640-04 Wine a Little

I just LOVE this saying!!

Please join us, linking your card HERE, and join us again next week!

Oh, Frankie!

I am so far behind on my Halloween cards!  The sketch challenge on SCS today was a fun and easy one, so I have added to my meager stash.

Isn't this designer paper just the nuts??  Instead of using an image, I cut out one of Frankie.  The only stamping is the sentiment.

The bg is the embossing folder called Spider Web.

All of us are sick.  Head colds, except for Mom.  She has Bronchitis.  Not fun.  We are all hacking and coughing and blowing.  Not much sleep for any of us.  YUCK!

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Christmas Poinsettia

This card is for the color challenge today, and is a case of a card made by Kittie Carricolo (kittie747).

The challenge dessert was to make it a Christmas card, and I think this fits the bill.

We are all sick.  DH started with a "throat", now I have the "throat", DH has an awful cough, and Mom has it now.  Stay away from us!!

A card in honor of yellowrose46

This card celebrates the work of Ina (yellowrose46).  I even put in a yellow rose!  She was our QFTD122, and I missed making a card in her honor while I was having hand surgery.

This is also for the CAS and TLC today.

The images are from Rubbernecker:
480-2010 Fall Sets - Fall Trilogy

I colored the rubber with markers, and added rolled roses with dewdrops and punched aspen leaves.  I hope  you like it.

Owl case of Sophie

This Halloween card is a case of Sophie LaFontaine at SCS.  She was named our Queen for the Day while I was unable to stamp.  I cased an adorable card of an owl in a tree wearing a cowboy hat.
I changed only the sentiment and colors of the owl to make it a card for October 31st. And of course, the hat.

The sentiment is Rubbernecker:475-01 Halloween  Dragon Boy.

It also is for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS today.  Wild Dresses is an Etsy shop selling little girl's dresses.  I chose to be inspired by a dress with an orange owl on the front.

Summer must be over.  #2 son, Paul, is here helping DH close the pool.  Ah well.  Have a great day, and thanks for visiting.

Fern - Just For You

Today I combined 3 challenges, two of which are in celebration of the artistry of Loll Thompson.

I cased her card that had two leaves.  Mine is the same except for using only one, and moving the sentiment.  I rounded the corner, and made it square.

You can see her card in my gallery at SCS, and if you have time, let her know how much beauty she creates!!

CCEE1237 Waterfall or pop-up

Our Hostess, Sabrina Friel, gave us our challenge again, to make a waterfall card or a free-standing pop-up Card.

I hadn't done this in AGES, so of course I made a ton of mistakes, and had to virtually start all over again.  When you glue the squares to the wrong side, they end up upside down......and not a pretty picture!

Below there are pics of what the underlying squares look like.  I used two Rubbernecker sets:

597 - Halloween Cats
473 - Halloween Set

Here are the two other views of the waterfall.  Aren't these cats just the cutest??

If I had been more careful the sentiment would have been straighter, but all I can do is blame the recent surgery I had.........By this time my hand was so sore, I just couldn't do it again!!

I hope you will want to join us this week.  Using old techniques can get the old MOJO sometimes working!!

If you make a card and would like for us to see it, please link your project

Sabrina has another fun challenge for us next week.  See you then!

Here's some RED!

Finally, here's some RED!

This is for the sketch challenge at SCS today.
I used Rubbernecker Stamps:

496-08 2010 Wildflowers
600 Phrase Set - Best Wishes

The cardstock is RED, black, and Recollections from Michael's.  I added dimensionals under the flower image after cb'd with the Wonky Rectangle from Spellbinders, and a ribbon. Black ink.

CHF09 - Shaped Card

Our challenge today is to make a shaped card.  I used one of my Nestabilities for the smaller and the larger one, and traced one for the middle and cut it out.

The set is Haute Couture from Cornish Heritage Farms, and the sentiment is a digi from the same place.

Thanks for joining me here again this week, and there'll be another one next Tuesday.

I'm back!!!!!!!! and a Fun Card for DGS!

I had my LAST visit to my surgeon and OT this morning.  I got the okay to do some VERY light stamping.  Hooray!  I can't tell you how much I have missed it!!  My hand is still very sore, hurts to do much, but I am back.

This card is for the CAS colorblocking challenge at SCS.  The image is Rubbernecker:
609-01 2012 Wildflowers - Flower #4.

Very simple stamping on a paintchip, with corner rounder and ribbons.  I added an MFP charm.

Today is also #2 son's birthday.  If you know Paul, wish him a Happy!

.........and here's a fun Twisted Fold card that will be sent off this morning to our grandson Nathan, who is starting his Freshman year at college.

The inside says...." a reminder to do your laundry".  I tucked in a $5.00 bill.  I'm sure his roommates will appreciate his washing his socks!!

The image and words on the front are from Rubbernecker stamps:
82-18 2012 Laundry Days - Washing Machine.  The rest of the sentiment inside was computer generated.

Thanks for looking.

CCEE1235 Back To School

When I chose this theme for our challenge, I didn't realize how very little I had on this subject.  In fact, this is the only image I have that works!

The printed paper has little apples all over it,  and the school bus has the single apple.  I tried to tie in the green of the leaves with the ribbon. Ah, well.

Please join us every week on Thursday for a fun challenge.  You can link your card HERE.  Be sure to look at what the team did too!

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

CHF08 - Circles, Circles, Circles

Our Cornish Heritage Farms challenge this week is to use circles.....and I took our hostess Dianne literally, and added three layered and stamped.  The daisies are #810, and are only inked at the top of the image.  The stem goes farther, and has more leaves attached. The top half of the card is done with my cb and EF.

Please join us and link your card HERE, and we'll see you again in two weeks.

CCEE1234 Paper Piecing

This week I chose the Paper Piecing Technique for our challenge.

I stamped this sweet image, Child with Bouquets (532-09 from Rubbernecker Stamps) on white cardstock, and on the purple plaid, to piece her dress.  I used markers for her hair and flowers, and then punched tiny flowers again in plaid.

I Finished the card with a piece of green cs, ribbon, a flower, and leaves.

Please join us again next week, and be sure to add your card HERE so we can see it too.

CCEE1233 Direct to Rubber

I am your hostess this month, and the theme for today is the direct to rubber technique.  I love to do this.  It ruins my markers, but the results are so pretty.

In case you don't know how to do this, color directly on your stamp with markers, huff, and stamp.  Stencil-type images work really well.  Here I have used Rubberneckers 537-01 Florals 2 - Rose Silhouette.

Please join us and link your card HERE, and come back next week.

Tuesday, August 14, 2012

CHF07 - Animals

Our hostess today is Barb, who set the theme - Animals.  I couldn't resist using this adorable baby tiger digi, #742E - Tiger Hiding.  I added the sentiment (1401 Cutest Little Baby Face), 'cause I think his face is really cute!

The dp is from Sandy Lion, and the image is colored with markers.  The grass is cut with MS scissors.

Please join us in two weeks for another Cornish Heritage Farms challenge.

Thursday, August 9, 2012

CCEE1232 Shaped Card

This month I am the Hostess for the CCEE Challenges - make a Shaped Card.

After using Rubbernecker images with the dog and bone sentiment, I decided to shape my card like a bone............honestly, it's a bone!  Forgive my lack of artistic ability!!

Please join us, and add your card HERE.  See you next week!

Monday, August 6, 2012

out of the cast.......

Here's how my hand looks out  of the cast........and a close-up if you click on it.  still very swollen, and the exercises are KILLERS!  Below is my new splint, which I can thankfully is removable for showers and the hot tub.  I thought I would be stamping really soon, but I guess not. Boo-Hoo!
I am missing taking part in the daily challenges, but I got far enough ahead in my stamp company obligations that you will see what I scheduled until I am able to start again.  Hope to see you all soon!

CCEE1230 Step Card

This week, Lois challenged us to make a step card.  I LOVE to make these!

I used all Rubbernecker images from the section Music, Time, and Bikes.  The "Dapper on Bike" is such a great vintage guy image!! And the pocket watches really seemed to go with it really well.  I hope  you like it!!

Link up your card HERE, and be sure to join us again next week.

CHF05 Challenge - Summer Theme

Today I am the hostess for the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge.  I chose a summer theme.

I love to do the radiating rays of the sun, and I hope you can tell that's a crab crawling around the sand.

Please join us every other Tuesday for the CHF.

I used my cb and Swiss Dots EF, some twine, sponging, torn paper, and masking for this card.  The crab is a digi, #227C.  Take a look at all the images HERE, and don't forget to take a look at what the rest of the DT has done.
