Below is a sneak peek of new images from Mark's Finest Papers.  I combined "Boo To You" and "Get Your Broom On" to make this Monsters In the Dark Halloween card for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS..

And this is my card for Speedy's Friends Challenge today.  The theme is Punching, and our hostess this week is Carol.  I used Lilacs In The Summer from MFP for the image of the butterfly, and a variety of punches.  The flower is compliments of the tutorial by Kittie C.  Couldn't wait to try it.  Please join us this week, and every week, linking your card here.

Covered Bridges Sneak Peek

Coming out next Tuesday!  I love this image.....perfect for any season, depending on the colors!  The challenge was to paper piece, and the bridge and truck are!  It's also for our QFTD, yo sam (Shelly) who cased a card of mine, and I cased her back!!

We have old and dear friends arriving shortly, then out to lunch.  Tomorrow morning we leave for the weekend to Mom's.......she has decided it's time to empty unnecessary things out of her house, so we will be starting that BIG job this weekend.  We'll be back next Monday afternoon.  Have a great weekend, and thanks to those of you who are sending cards to Tommy!

My StampinB's Challenge - Anniversary! (Boo To You below)

This week I am the hostess of the StampinB's........my challenge?  to make an Anniversary card.  Why?  Today is DH and My 48th !!  This is the card I gave him this morning, a really masculine card, and very Septemberish. (is that a word?)

OOOOOH, Frankie!

This is for the SC today at SCS.  The whole time I was making this card I was thinking of my grandson Tommy, who had 37 stitches last night.  He was helping his younger brother open a door, and put his hand and arm through a pane of glass.  Heard from DD this AM, and he went to school.  Slept right through the night, but of course she didn't!  Aren't kids amazing!!  If you would like to send him a funny get well card, let me know.

Halloween Sneak Peek

The color challenge today made for a great Halloween set up!  I used one of the new sets from Mark's Finest Papers that will be available a week from today.  "Get Your Broom On" is one of four that you will just love!!

Saffron Yellow for Two Challenges

This card will go off tomorrow to a friend whose birthday I missed.  Thank goodness she is even older than I am, so she will certainly understand that my brain fell out of my ear during the night!  Obviously that's why she'll be getting this card late.  If we were both younger, I wouldn't have anyone but myself to blame! LOL!

I made this card for her, combining the two challenges today on SCS - CAS (shoes) and TLC (stamping on dp).  I really like how it turned out with the little flowers and pearls.

No RED.......OOps!

The Inspirations site this morning was called Pomegranate, and I saw very little RED.  What's up with that???  I chose a pillow in these pretty colors, but in between looking and crafting, I reversed them........the one on the site had green petals and blue centers.  Ah well.........

This is also for Speedy's Friends Challenge, hosted by Colleen, who asked us to "bring on the BLING", which I did with stickles and sparkle brads.

My eye is better today.  I am seeing okay, and even though my orbit is sore, I am fine.  I have even been able to put my own eyedrops in, which for me is REALLY A FEAT!!

I'm Back!

Her's my entry for the StampinB's challenge from Emily.........to use a pin or clip.  I just love this set, Forest Gifts from MFP, and using the Spotlight  technique.

We got our power back last night about 7PM......out since Sunday noon.  It's amazing how you get to rely on electricity and internet!!

Yesterday I had the first of two eye surgeries.  I leave in half an hour for the Dr, to have the patch remmoved.  I'll be glad to see out of two eyes again!!    And I'm very glad to be back!!!

Creative Belli Challenge #125

Welcome back to another bi-weekly Belli Challenge.  This week the theme is to use Vellum or Acetate.  The fun part of the Belli is that we are asked to use what we already have in our stash, not run out and get something new.

I used some wonderful lavender vellum I just HAD to have about two years ago!  It was stamped with MFP's new set "Butterflies and Wisteria", then heat embossed in white.  I added a ribbon and punched the edge.  That's it!

Grunge BEWARE!! and Inspired Lace for Speedy

BEWARE!  This is the piece I saw at the Inspiration site that I just fell in love with, and now that it's made, I love it even more.  I included the piece that led to this card so you could see that there was something other than my warped mind that thought it up!!  This Halloween card with the Grim Reaper will go to an adult who will appreciate it (and my sense of humor).  Thanks for looking.  Below is the other and prettier card for you.

StampinB's Challenge #125

Our challenge this week was chosen by Vicki - to make a square or round easel card.

Teapot Tuesday and CC

 The CC today was to use the Primary colors, Blue, Yellow and RED.  The dessert was to make a school related card.  Since we have teachers in the family, and 2 Granddaughters starting High School, and one Grandson entering Middle School, someone will get this to spur them on to good things.

The pencil I cut out, sort of freehand, but don't look too closely!  The sentiment is from MFP - Poppies Poppies Poppies.  Whew!  I wish that title was shorter!

Below is my card for Teapot Tuesday.  We were to make a card relating to birds in a cage.  I had this wonderful dp, and couldn't figure out how to add a bird to it, and still have it show, so a butterfly worked better (I think someone let all the birds out of the cages!).   This card will go to a friend of a stamper who needs some cheering.

That's it for today.  Mom and I are off later today to her house.  She has her Dr. appt. for her 3 mo. check-up after a minor stroke.  She's been doing really well.  We'll be back home on Thursday, so have a great couple of days.  Hugs to you all.

Guest Designer on CAS! ......and

I am a guest designer for the Clean And Simple Challenge today on SCS.   The theme is HOT!  What is hotter than the sand at the beach??!

I used a cute little EKSuccess punch that had never seen paper, along with the shell border punch.  The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers, the set called "Surf, sand, Relax".  Polished it off with the scor-pal, ribbon, and a charm of the sun.  Kraft and RED papers.  That's it.  If you want to see it closer, just click on the photo.  Thanks for looking!

Speedy the Cat's Friends' Challenge

 The challenge today is to do wet or dry embossing.  I combined this challenge with the Inspiration on SCS.  This one of trees uses Frances Meyer Trees paper, and Tim Holtz's EF called Tall Pines.  I hope you can see the embossing......if you click on the picture I think you can see it better.  The Memory Box die cut label features a sentiment from MFP (Christmas Postage Due).  I like this as a Christmas card.

Below is another IC embossed card.  To see what inspired it, you can go to my gallery on the sidebar.  I really like to make CAS cards, and all white is so elegant, don't you agree?

Today we are inside.....high humidity, dreary sky.  Off to friends' for dinner and to see their new kitty! CU!

For today's challenge to use the cb and EF, I added the sentiment and butterfly from a new set from Mark's Finest Papers called "Butterflies and Wisteria".  I hope you like it.

Quiet day today.....DH is off to the office, Mom and I will be in the craft room.  YAY!

Stampin'B's Challenge from Vicky and WT......Forest Gifts

This week the Stampin'B's Challenge comes from Vicky, who asked us to use distressing.  the set is MFP's "Big Cats".  I added some wonderful primitive paper and cork to give it an African feel.

A Card for Connie Jo

The Teapot Challenge today is to use Winter, Trees, or golf as a theme.  Our destination is Colorado, to Connie Jo, who is having knee replacement surgery today.  It's also for the color challenge: pink, lavender, sand.

I hope Connie will relax and not try to do too much when she gets home.........but if she's anything like her sister Cathy (Mutnik), she'll have to be reminded to slow down.

Monday challenges

The Technique Lover's Challenge today was to make a Stacked card. This was really fun. If you want to make one, go to the forum to get directions. It was like making three cards at a time, and finding images and paper was the tough part.

This was for the CAS.........use a partial image.  I used this wonderful bird, and the rest of him can be seen inside.  Thanks for looking.

Inspiration Challenge

Today's site is a place that has a variety of buttons.  The one I chose looks just like this image from Mark's Finest Papers called "Cupcake Mini".  I got this set for free, taking part in a swap.  There is one going on right now, giving away a really cute set for taking part in the next swap.

Busy day today.......two of the grands are here, making cards in the kitchen.  After an early lunch, off to see granddaughter Erin do her Irish dancing at the competition (Feis).  See you tomorrow.

It sure felt good to use some RED on a dreary and rainy day!!  Getting a photo was not easy, but I think  you can see the RED all right.  We'll be inside all day ini the craft room and kitchen.......eating of course!!  Have a great day.

Here's my card for the IC this morning. I was inspired by a cow bag. I love this little cow from Fun On The Farm, which will be released by Mark's Finest Papers on Tuesday in a blog hop.

I made this card for Speedy's Friends challenge:  Anything but an A2 card.  I used Butterflies and Wisteria, which will be in the blog hop here as well.  I hope  you will come and see what I (and the rest of the DT) have done with samples!!

Today our queen is Emily, my DT friend at MFP!  I cased one of her wonderful CAS cards.

Sketch Challenge (Belli below)

Well this was frustrating!  I took a zillion pictures, and still can't get the daffodil color to show properly!  take my word for it, it really is a nice yellow.  I flipped the sketch and instead of the bar, I used a ribbon.  This is a sneak peek of MFP's new set Butterflies and Wisteria that will be released next week in a Blog Hop.

Off to Mom's this AM, lunch with Uncle Paul, Dr., then to rewatch the RED sox win! YAY!

Belli Challenge #123

This week's Belli Challenge is to use some non-paper materials, such as fabric, net, denim, anything like that. The best part of this challenge every two weeks is that we are asked to use what is already in our stash. Of course I am a hoard.....um.....saver, so I had some wonderful mesh from something or other we bought as a toy for the kids to use at the pool. I thought it looked great as a veil for this simple hat.

I couldn't resist using a brand new punch.......hope that doesn't get me disqualified!

It's a sneak peek!

 Today I'm showing some samples of some new sets that will be released next week by Mark's Finest Papers.  This one is called Butterflies and Wisteria, and I made it for the color challenge of white, gray and turquoise.

The one below is called Fun On The Farm, and is for the Teapot Tuesday challenge, and will go to a child in the hospital.  I think it's cheerful enough to make someone smile.

Belated Birthday

Today the combined challenges worked for one card.  TLC - sentiment stamped over image, and CAS - belated birthday.  Simple and quick.  Mom and I just discussed the fact that we sledom make multi-layer cards like we used to.  Today we'll rectify that!!  Have a great day!

Featured Stamper Amy

This morning I cased a card by our FS Amy (amylovesnormajean) at SCS.  She has a lovely gallery.  I hope you like my card with NO RED!

Today DIL Debbie and DGS Jake come back from Maine.  We have missed them a lot.  I think Jake will love the new "Grandchildren's Room" that was done while he was away.

Beautiful day....we will probably sit by the pool and listen to the Red Sox beat the White Sox!! Hugs to you all.

Speedy's Friends Challenge

The challenge today is to use twine or jute on your card.  I made a pocket card using Planted With Love from MFP.  this is the first time I figured out how to add TWO things within my photo, and I really needed to do it so you could see all the parts.  I hope that you can click on the photo to see it larger, but I don't know for sure.

Daisies for Queen Carol

Our QFTD is Carol (gingerbeary), my friend and MFPDT member!  Carol makes beautiful cards, and I cased one of them very simply, which is NOT what she does!!  This is also for the F4A challenge, a summer CAS card.

Dark and dismal here today...hard to get a decent picture, but I''m guessing you can figure out that this card is layered and cb'd.  Have a fun day!  Happy Friday.

The challenge today for Stampin'B's was chosen by Faith, who wants us to use ribbon.   I added a charm and pin to mine.  The set is called Poppies, Poppies, Poppies, and I love it.  I wish it had a shorter name, however, because every time I type it, I groan.  Faith........Please!!  Shorter titles!!!!
