Belli Challenge - The Letter "G"

The Creative Belli Challenge for this week is to use something "G" on your card or project.  I made a twisted easel card, that is held open with a GLITTERED brad.

Green Ferns and RED bird

This is the card I made for Mothermark's Teapot Tuesday.......it had to be round!

I don't love this.  It's for the color challenge today, and it was hard for Mom and me to put them together.  Oh well, they're not all winners.  We are off shortly to DGD's 8th grade graduation.  Only 300 students graduating today!!  Gonna be warm in that gym!! Seeya tomorrow!

Old World Look

Mom and I combined the challenges today at SCS...........TLC (Old World Look) and CAS (Tall and Thin).  I used two different MFP sets, All Aboard, and BG Fun.

Today is the beginning of a home improvement project.  The electrician arrived a few minutes ago, and the carpenters and painters come next week.  I have to go to the HD store, and arrange for carpeting, and it involves a lot of furniture moving.  In a week or two we will have two more bedrooms for the grands.  Yay!  I have thought about this for years! I'm so happy to get it started!

Casing Two Friends!

This is the card I made for the Queen For The Day, my friend Vicki Dutcher. I cased a card of the same shape, but changed the colors to my favorites. Surprise!!  I used MFP's All Aboard set.  New, and FAB!

And this is the card I made for the Free For All Challenge - case a card made by a friend.  Joanne Grzelak (jojot on SCS) makes the most wonderful cards!  I love all her layers and she is the EMPRESS of piercing such straight lines.  I really need some lessons in this, GF!!  I cased a card of hers, keeping the same colors and layout, but used my new diecut from Marianne Designs and a different EF and punch.  Here's to you, Joanne, my talented friend.

Rain today, and Mom and I have made a real mess in the craft room.  We have no other plans, except if we're invited out for lunch we could accept!  Have a great day. Hugs to you all!

StampinB's Border Punch Challenge!

Were you surprised it took this long to make the popppies RED???  Here they are!

Mom and I are off to her house, back tomorrow.  We have lunch with my Uncle Paul today, then watching the RED Sox and Bruins tonight!  see you later!

Get Well for Jessica

This card goes to CA as a get well for Jessica (Mutnik's daughter) who was badly injured being thrown by her horse.  She loves horses, still, and flowers, so I hope this will cheer her as she recovers.  It fits the requirements of the two Tuesday challenges at SCS as well.

Pouring rain, yucky skies, 50 degrees.  June???? Nope! 

We are off on a "field trip" to the dump....er....Sanitary Landfill... today, and the library.  We may even talk DH into lunch at our favorite place!  Mom and I are always ready to grab our purses and run!!

How about some RED???

The two challenges at SCS were so close that one card sufficed for both.  AND.......I used RED.  About time, huh?  This is one of the new sets from Mark's Finest Papers called "All Aboard".  I just adore this little train!

Terrible weather again today.......we are SO SICK of cold and rain! Where is summer?  My pool looks ready for some swimmers, but 50 degrees doesn't quite make it!  Hope it's better where you are.  Have a great day.

Dry Embossing for Mary

The Featured Stamper at SCS today is Mary Brown (stampercamper), and I cased a card of hers very closely.  I loved the Elegant Lines EF she used, and added a different color butterfly and sizzix leaf.  I changed the colors as well.

We spent a rather frantic day yesterday.......Three sets of company, including friends and family, and two of our grandsons.  By the time they all left it was 10, and DH, Mom, and I went happily to bed! Phew!  Today is low key.  DH is officiating at a track meet, and Mom and I got to play this morning.  Lunchtime will find us on the couch, watching the Red Sox (winning again, we hope!).  Have a relaxing day yourselves!!

Creative Belli Challenge #119 - Branches

Welcome to another Belli challenge..........the challenge where you have to use what you already own!!  I love this bird punch, and whaddyaknow!  It has a branch as part of it!!  Of course I had to use RED  for my bird, and punch out some extra branches too.  I also added some little flowers and a CB'd frame with a cut out oval.  I made the additional wings into leaves!! StampinB's challenge today was to make a card for a guy using brown and black, plus one more color.  I was given  a House Mouse image, and couldn't resist using it today. I added some pink to the mousie faces.

Sneak Peek

Six Fold Card and American Made (CAS)

Here are the two views of the six folded card shown on SCS today for the Technique Lovers Challenge.  I used two different MFP sets, Grret The Day With Gerber, and Blackberries Sunflowers & Bees.  The paper is double-sided from Scenic Route and Curry.  I distressed the edges of the curry and used markers on the flowers.  Interesting shaped card, but probably one of a kind from me.  Maybe the paper should have been prettier. I just don't know.  Anyway, here it is.

For the CAS challenge today, here is a card that is apropriate for Memorial Day. Have a good one.

Magnolia Wedding for our FS

Rosemary is our FS this week.  I cased one of her beautiful butterfly cards, using a magnolia instead but keeping the pretty layout.  I used MFP's sets, Magnolia Wedding and Frames and Flourishes. 
We had the family here yesterday for a sort of impromptu party, and we are tired.  The yard will have to wait.  Humid and hot, the pool looks really yucky, but DH is not up to more work today, and you know that Mom and I are inside girls!!!

I used two different sets by Mark's Finest Papers, A Walk In The Woods for the trees, and Happy Pansies for the sentiment. Lots of sponging and markers went into this, and I really like the blue ribbon to take a little of the green away. I finished it off with a sun charm and gold cord.

for Faith!!

What a treat to find Faith our QFTD!!  I cased one of her fabulous colorful cards, and combined it with the F4A63 challenge to make a pocket card and use a different technique.  I stitched with my sewing machine (badly!) and used a piece of acetate for a window card.  Faith, enjoy your wearing of the tiara, and I hope you like what I have done for you!! Big Hugs.

Mom is doing so well.  Her hands are not affected, nor is her sense of humor.  Her speech is coming along, and she would like to thank you all for your hugs and best wishes, not to mention the wonderful cards!!

We leave on Sunday for vacation.  We hope to get in another challenge before we leave.  Have a great day!

StampinB's challenge

Today's Challenge with the StampinB's is chosen by Faith........use flower soft or glitter.  I chose flower soft, which I don't use very often.  It was a good nudge for me to get some out!! This is my card for the FS today.  Don't you think it was about time I used some RED?  Making a clean and simple card is so easy.......this took less than 5 minutes because I already had my white cut!! How cool is that?  Have a great day.

Imagine my surprise (and delight) to be named Queen For The Day at Splitcoaststampers!! What an honor and a treat as well!!!

This card is made for my own challenge, and the Free For All, layaers.  I had such a good time making and layering all these RED Hearts.  The card is a 6 x 6, and I think I will probably give it to Mom on Mother's Day at lunch.

Speaking of lunch, in honor of my royal day, DH is taking me to lunch.  He says I deserve it.  He's a keeper, isn't he?

StampinB's Challenge - Paper Piecing and Monochromatic Blues

Our challenge today from Joanne at StampinB's is to use a technique - Paper Piecing, and to use Monochromatic blues.  I had this paper which I bought in November in a little store across from Colby College in NH. The guy had the most gorgeous papers, and I have been hoarding it......BAD, BAD!!  So here is the fab dp, used with MFP's "Sew What?"

Mother's Day (Belli Challenge below)

Here is my card for the SC today........but the police may be after me.  I couldn't make the sketch work for me.  I am ready for the police to come and take me off in shackles! LOL!.  I may do another and really get the sketch right....maybe not!
I used two different MFP sets:  Apples & Camellia, and Bearded Iris.  I hope you like it.  I will put this on the bag for my mother with her goodies in it for Mother's Day!

Creative Belli Challenge - Royal!

Welcome back to the Creative Belli Challenge! In honor of the Royal Wedding, our challenge this time is to make a "Royal" card. Not only did I use the Royal Purple and a bg of crowns, but also the image is of the Princess Bride with the saying, "as you wish". One of our favorite family movies!

What's New?

I had such fun making this card today.  It's for the CC and MMTPT challenges at SCS.

The images were taken from three different Mark's Finest Papers sets:
mushrooms and butterfly - garden fairies
frog - Speedy the Cat's Friends
saying - Sew What?

I stamped and colored the images, and embossed the bg with the Forest Branches EF to look like grass.  Then I positioned each of the parts (only half the butterfly), and popped them up.  The bg is sponged, and I finished up with a bow and some gold cord.  I hope you like it.
