Sabrina challenged us to be inspired by the words and imagery of this poem.
Ars Poetica by Archibald MacLeish
A poem should be palpable and mute
As a globed fruit,
Dumb
As old medallions to the thumb,
Silent as the sleeve-worn stone
Of casement ledges where the moss has grown -
A poem should be wordless
As the flight of birds.
*
A poem should be motionless in time
As the moon climbs,
Leaving, as the moon releases
Twig by twig the night-entangled trees,
Leaving, as the moon behind the winter leaves,
Memory by memory the mind -
A poem should be motionless in time
As the moon climbs.
*
A poem should be equal to:
Not true.
For all the history of grief
An empty doorway and a maple leaf.
For love
The leaning grasses and two lights above the sea -
A poem should not mean
But be.

What a wonderful sky!!!
What a fantastic use of that French Flair (?) background - wonderful way to include the flight of birds. This has such a dreamy moonlit feel to it. It sort of reminds me of times I've tried to photograph the moon through trees - but I can look at your card without freezing to death standing outside on a cold clear night :D.
your sky is just incredible....love the colors you used.....the whole design has a dreamy quality to it.....
and yes....if you are heading to UConn on a good weather day, I would LOVE to meet you
Absolutely gorgeous. I love the swirly sky and the use of the Carte Postal stamp set. I have always loved that.
