Thomas Kinkade Week

This week the Thomas Kinkade image from Cornish Heritage Farms is done all in sepia.  The title of this one is "The Village Lighthouse".  His coloring of it is fabulous, but since I am not HE, I took the easier way out.

CCEE1349 A Stocking

Frances is our Hostess for the month of December (which will only be two weeks of challenges).  

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house 

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

 The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

 In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.'

Hoopy Birthday!

Some days silly takes me over!  Mom and I were looking at Pinterest this morning, and came across this bird.  We giggled, then laughed.  I just had to print it out, and use it for the sketch challenge at SCS today.  I hope it tickles yur fancy too!

CHF41 Inspired By Santa

"December 4th is Santas' List Day - are you on the "Nice" list or the Naughty List?? Create a card or project that is inspired by Santa."  This is the challenge given to us by our hostess, Frances.  I used this cute image from Cornish Heritage Farms of the three kittens wearing Santa Hats.

On To Christmas!

My cards are all ready to go on Monday.  I stamped them all this morning.  No more Christmas cards to make, just a few tags for presents for the grands.  I ordered the last of their items from their wish lists. Phew.

In the meantime, here are a few cards that didn't get posted.

 this one was for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS.  I saw a beautiful gilded and white bowl, thus this card.

 Here is a step card made with die cuts.  I did add some light blue sponging to give it some definition.  I think it came out really well, and it even fit in a regular envelope.

 This Get Well card is made with two digital images from Cornish Heritage Farms.  I have been on their Design Team all year, and have scads of their wonderful designs.  I went with a monochromatic card, and it will go out to a guy, don't you think?

And last, but certainly not least, I made this pop-up card with an ornament and flakes.  It's in its envelope, and on the way to friends for Christmas.

CCEE1348 Sketch

I used some wonderful shades of purple and olive green.  The lilac is out of the box....a technique I love to do.  The papers are just scraps from my file, but I thought they matched really well.

CCEE1347 Embossing and Glitter

Cindy's challenge this week is to use Embossing (dry or wet) and Glitter.

I dry embossed the snowflakes, and used glitter glue on the snow and in the center of the flake.  I think this makes a really cute Christmas card.

CHF40 Thanksgiving

Our hostess for today, Steph, challenged us to make a Thanksgiving card, since it's only a week away.

This is the front of the card I made, using a Cornish Heritage Farms digi stamp.  I colored it with markers and colored pencils, then fussy cut it out.  It's popped up on dimensionals.

.......where I popped up a sign post with labels for the holiday, and added a CHF sentiment digi as well.

CCEE1346 Stitches

This week, Cindy challenged us to use stitches.  Since she didn't say REAL or FAUX, I went with the latter.  I thought my card was busy enough without taking out my sewing machine.....although it really is faster in the long run!!

Thomas Kinkade Week at CHF

The Thomas Kinkade image from Cornish Heritage Farms I have featured this week is called "Streams of Living Waters".  I brayered the stamp with Wasabi green ink, added a sentiment and a strip of ribbon.

The image is so beautiful, I really didn't want to accent anything else.

CCEE1345 Ribbon and Lace

Our hostess for the month of November is Cindy Haffner.  Her first challenge is to use ribbon and lace.

You can see that all I did was thread some black ribbon through the holes in the ecru lace.  I love the way it looks with a couple of bows.

This image and sentiment is from CHF's digital stamp category.   The dog is painted in shades of brown.........in fact, most of this card is brown.  I added some black to give it some contrast.

CCEE1344 Dog Theme

 As my last challenge for the month of October, in honor of Adopt A Shelter Dog Month, make a card with a dog theme.

I just LOVE this image from Mo Manning!

My DD and her DH adopted a mixed breed dog named Nitro from the Sterling MA animal shelter, and he is the loveliest dog.  He is so well behaved that when the TV goes off at night, he gets up, stretches, and goes to his bed.

Here is a Christmas snowman from Cornish Heritage Farms, a digi, and isn't he just the cutest??

I painted him in purple and green, of course with an orange carrot nose.

CCEE1342 FLOWERS!

I am hostess for the CCEE challenges this month, and the theme I chose for this week is flowers, the more the better!

I took a picture of my card on an angle so you can see all the layers that I cut out (and I won't do that again soon!) and popped up. I also stamped flowers all over the bg layer.

CHF Palms

About this time of year I start thinking about island breezes.  I guess the prospect of Winter approaching gets the better of me.
