CHF03 - Pearls and Lace

Cindy, our hostess for this month, chose the theme Pearls and Lace.  I fell in love with this gorgeous paper, so I went with the colors, adding gray pearls.

The only stamping is on the inside.  It says,
"Some people make the world more Special just by being in it."
The sentiment is a Cornish Heritage Farms digi #1472.  I thought adding anything else to the outside would be too much.

Thanks for joining me, and I hope you will take a look at the cards by the rest of the DT HERE.

See you again with another challenge in two weeks.

Ruffles Inspired

The Clean and Simple challenge today was an inspiration - a black bathing suit with a white ruffled top.

I thought this image of the petunias with their ruffles edges was perfect, and continued the theme in the flowers.

These images are from Rubbernecker Stamps.

Today is starting out dark and gloomy..hope it's better where you are.  Hugs to all.

Tutorial Time - Lois Bak's Train Tunnel!

If you go HERE, you will be linked to the Tutorial Time with SpeedyTV, and can see how Lois showed us how to make this card.  It was really fun, and is the 3rd tutorial.   If you click on my card, you can see a close-up.

Join us every Friday for a new tutorial!

A Two-fer!

Here's another sneak peek of Welcome Poppies that will be released in a Blog Hop here next Tuesday.

I used this image in a layout to honor our Queen For The Day, cathymac at SCS.  This is something I seldom do, layer the two images to overlap, and I kinda like it.

I went to the hand surgeon yesterday, and have an appt. with him for July 7th to have my thumb fixed.  He will take out a bone at the base, drill a hole in the long bone, and thread a tendon from my arm into it.  He says it's really easy, and always works.  I'll be glad to be pain free, finally.  Until then, I'll be stamping like crazy to get ahead on all my challenges!! Wish me luck.

Have a great day!

CCEE1224 Nautical Challenge, and an extra!

Welcome to another CCEE Challenge! This week our theme is Nautical.

I combined blue cardstock, ink, and dp for a Father's Day card.

We hope you will join us, linking your card HERE.  Please check out the DT on my sidebar.

See you again next Thursday!

The Ways To Use It Challenge at SCS today was to make a masculine card.  Since I followed the nautical theme, I decided to post my additional card here.

I used a set called "Island Life" that will be available during a Blog Hop here and at MFP next Tuesday.

I think with this sentiment it makes a fabulous sympathy card, and a great guy card as well.

Rain today.  Mom and I will go for pedicures, and maybe lunch out, as DH has a luncheon meeting.  Hope you are having a nice day wherever you are.

I love this B-Line Design image.  If this isn't Vintage, I don't know what is!

This 20's beauty is paper pieced and watercolored, and I used organdy ribbon and flowers to finish it off.

Only Green today!

After all the rain we've had, everything here is very green.  This card is for the SC at SCS.

I really liked the sketch, and with the single stamp from Stampscapes, it's pretty simple.  I hope  you like it.

Laid back day today.  No plans, just feet up.  Hope you are having that kind of day too!

CCEE1222 Focus on Piercing

For our last challenge of May, Charlene has asked us to make PIERCING our focus.

This card uses more piercing than usual, because I HATE to do it, and never get it straight, even when I use my matpack.  On top of that, it just plain hurts my hand.  I am NO Joanne Grzelak (jojot).

I used a coneflower image from Paper Inspirations, and embossed in white on a pretty combination of papers (Anna Griffin and solid).  I added only a ribbon bow, since I didn't want to overwhelm the piercing.

Please join us by linking your card HERE, and join us again in June.

Get Well Owl

Well, Mom's house went on the market today.  I finished the cleaning, brought home everything that didn't need to be seen there, and thank heaven, it's done.  Boy am I tired.

I came home to find a fun challenge, and used this cute Bosscut owl as the centerpiece.  The only stamping in the sentiment, which is from MFP's set "Flaps my Wattles".

I sincerely intend to spend the afternoon with a glass of wine, refilled when necessary.  Vegging out sounds rel good to me.  Have a wonderful day!
