Tuesday and Wednesday

Today I'm sharing two cards, one for Tuesday and Wednesday.  Below is the Z Fold card for the Color challenge (RED, blue, green).

For the sketch today, here is my Christmas Santa, going over the world.

Thanks for looking!!  Have a great day!!

CCEE1745 Guys

Joanne says:

"I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I never seem to have enough masculine birthday cards.  This week is for the guys......make a masculine card of any type.....does not have to be a birthday card."

This is indeed a birthday card for our grandson Nate. He is about to turn 23.  He loves music, and plays guitar.  I think he'll like this.

Please feel free to join us, linking your card to our blog HERE.

Sketch Challenge

Today is my favorite challenge day.  A sketch is provided.  I flipped the sketch to accommodate the eyes on the cats.

Inside it says, "The years have been kind to you.  It was the weekends that did the damage!"

Color Challenge

Today the colors for the challenge at splitcoaststampers were

Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry (Orange, RED, yellow).

Of course, neutrals are always okay.  I thought this was a good card for someone who loves music.

Thanks for looking!

Saturday Inspiration

Today our website is called Frontgate.  I chose this to inspire my card:

I had seen a funny card on Pinterest, and it popped into my head just as soon as I saw the pearl necklace.

And here's mine, cased from Pinterest....

I hope you think it's funny too!

Thanksgiving Side-step card

Now that our grandsons are older (the youngest is 16!), I have to make more masculine cards.  Here are two I made to go out shortly.

Casing Favorites (CCEE Below)

Today's challenge at SCS is to CASE (copy and save everything) a card put into our favorites.  Here is the card I kept by Roberta (stampin'nana):

Here's what I did with her card to make it mine:

Tthanks for looking!

CCEE1744 Thanksgiving or Thanks

Our hostess for the month of November is Joanne.  Here is her first challenge:

she says, "I'm going to keep it simple.  The holidays are coming, and times will be busy.  This will be a month of celebrations.  This week I would like you to make a Thanksgiving card OR a card of thanks."

This card will go to my DD, who loves to get fun cards.  I think this will make her laugh!!

Please join us, linking your card HERE.

Mmmmmm.....spaghetti!

The SCS challenge today is the sketch:

And here's my card:

Nothing like a chuckle in the morning!  Thanks for looking.

Colors and the Tickle

The Color Challenge today at SCS is to use Honey, Turquoise, Pear, and Rose, and for dessert, water color.  Here it is:

This card will go to my Aunt next month for her birthday.  She still wears hats!

The Tickle today is to be inspired by apples.........I think this covers it!

This will be sent with some goodies to another Teapotter when I get a message as to whom it goes.

Monday Two-fer

My card for today covers both challenges at SCS.  The Clean and Simple is to make a decorated Christmas Tree.  The Technique Lovers Challenge is to Splash Watercolor.  Here's the result:

The pineapple top is the "tree", decorated with Christmas lights, and the bg is the new technique.  This card will go to our granddaughter Sam(antha), who has a real THING for pineapples.

A CASE for Sunday

Every Sunday there is a Featured Stamper.  We are to find one of her cards or projects, and to use it to inspire our own.  Here is CraftyJennie's (Jennie Maier) card I found:

I liked the layout and colors.  Those I kept, but changed the rest, here:

Thanks to Jennie, and to you for looking.  See you tomorrow!

Tough Day? and Cutie Pie

Our inspiration site today at SCS is called Jellycat, a place filled with cute toys for little ones.  My card is based on a cuddly (if you can believe it!) sloth.  You can see it HERE.

Inside it says,
"Tough day?  Try being one of the Seven Deadly Sins!"

This will go to my son the English Teacher to perk him up on a tough day!

I liked the site so much I did another card:

This one will go to DGD Sam.......inside it will say,

"You're one in a Chameleon!".

Fussy Cutting

I have loved cutting things out of paper ever since I was given scissors!  I used to love the Betsy McCall paper dolls that came in my mother's magazine, and the Katy Keene's in comic books.  When I saw that the challenge on SCS today was to "fussy cut", I was in my glory.

I had saved a page of 3 D decoupage from the net, and today was the day to cut the five layers of this little image and use it on a Fall card.  I thought the little fairy was darling!!

Thanks for looking, and have a terrific day!

CCEE1743 Cats

Frances tell us:

Apparently tomorrow (27th) is Black Cat Day and Sunday (29th) Cat Day.  So for our challenge this week include a cat on your creations.......black or not.

I couldn't resist this fun black cat...of course this is for Halloween!!

Please join us, linking your card to our BLOG.

A Fun Sketch!

Wednesday is my favorite day on SCS.  The Sketch Challenge is always fun, and usually quite a challenge as well.  Here's the one for today:

I changed the basic shape from a square to an A2 sized card.

This chicken that looks like she's panicking is from Eat Cake Graphics.  I love this image and saying, and use it for lots of occasions.  Inside it says'

"Oops.  My Mistake.  Happy Fall!"

Thanks for looking.

Halloween

The past few days, Halloween has been the theme at SCS.  Here's what I've made:

Sunday's Featured Stamper

Today the Featured Stamper is Jeanette Cloyd (Forest Ranger).  Here is her card I cased:

I was inspired by the layout.  I changed the theme and stamps, and added a ribbon in place of the brad.  I also omitted the brads (DH said to leave it alone.).  Here's mine:

Thanks for looking, and congratulations to Jeanette!

Some Saturday Humor

This morning I was inspired by an art print.  I gave it my own twist...........

I'll hold onto this until the beginning of the year, when our eldest friend will be 82!

Have a great weekend.

WISH .....

Today's challenge is food.......and who doesn't love a big gooey sweet dessert?!

In this case, it's not a birthday wish............

Inside it says  "Wish cake went straight to my boobs!"

Bingo! (hence the embossing folder).  HAve a fun day.

Cocktail? (CCEE Below)

Today the challenge on SCS is to make a card with a pink animal on it.

You just know I love fun cards!!!

CCEE1742 Acetate

Frances challenges us this week to create a card that includes acetate in some way.

Here's my little school bear.  I like to send cards relating to school to my daughter-in-law Debbie, who teaches Middle School Math.

Please join us, and be sure to link your card to our Blog.......HERE.

Sketch Challenge and a new fold!

Today is the day for a new Sketch Challenge at SCS.  Here's what we were given:

And this is what I did ............

At the moment there is a special Fall Fest going on as well, and the new fold (for me at least) is called Panel Pull Out.  And this is the Thanksgiving card I made:

Inside it says, "Get your FAT pants ready!".  I love it!  This will probably go to our chef, Erin, in New York, doing her final Internship.

Thanks for joining me today.  Have a good one!

Cleaning??

The color challenge on SCS today had the loveliest hues.......pink, green, saffron, and blue.  I had a lot of trouble with the coloring of this digi, as it left black on everything.  It spread into the sweet colors.  Oh well, it is what it is, as we say.

At least the paper piecing came out okay!!  Thanks for looking.

Tracie

Our Featured Stamper today at SCS is Tracie Clary (taclary).  Here is her card which inspired mine:

And here's the Thanksgiving card I made, changing the colors and theme, but keeping the layout.

thanks for looking.

Some Gibson humor.

Today the Inspiration Challenge at SCS is a website with beautiful shoes.

This is the pair of clogs that led to the making of my card this morning.

I LOVE this Gibson girl image, and use it a lot.  She has the best face for humorous comments!

Thanks for looking.  See you later.  Directions for the fold can be found HERE

Googly-eyed skeleton

Today the challenge at SCS is to make a card based on World Sight Day.  For this, I used googly eyes on the skeleton.  This Halloween card will go to our four year old great grandson, Oli.

Thanks for looking.  My CCEE challenge for today is posted below.

CCEE1741 Farmers

Frances says today is "Old Farmers Day".  Her challenge is to create something farm related.

Inside it says,  "HAD !"

Please join us, adding your card HERE.

For Dori

Many of you know I send cards to a girl who is dying of a brain disease. She loves flowers. Her disease has progressed to where she needs 24 hour care, and can no longer speak, feed herself, or stand. Hospice has been called. She's a lovely young woman....so sad. This card will go to Dori.

If you would like to join me, here is the address:

A Two-fer on Tuesday!

Today, the Color Challenge on SCS is to use Razzberry, Navy and Bermuda Bay in our card-making.  Here's the one I just posted:

I called it Psycho-Path.

Today was also the Teapot Tuesday Challenge, called "Elvis has left the Building!"  The cards are to be sent as a thank you to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police in recognition of their self-less work.  Here's the card I made, and put in the mail this morning:

This computer image is the nicest one of "The King".  Since I already had out my Razzberry paper, this was a quick one.

I had a busy morning, going to have my annual mammogram (all good!) and out for breakfast with my honey.  Then card making.  Isn't retirement GREAT???  Have a great day too!

Monday morning duo

I love Monday!  (When you are retired, every day is Saturday!)  There are always two challenges at Splitcoaststampers on Monday.

The Clean and Simple:  Add a layer.  Here's my card:

Inside it says "It's snowing cats and dogs.....OOPS!...just cats."

The layers are the snowflake border and the paper pieced scarf on the cat-snowguy.

The other challenge for today is the Technique Lover's Challenge, which is to use the tutorial for Acrylic Batik.  I had never done this, and it was not only easy, but fun.  The part of the card with the batik is the wall.

Inside it says, "It was a terrible summer for Humpty Dumpty, but it was a GREAT FALL."

I have a reputation to uphold at SCS.  I love cards with humor, and make them as often as I can.
Hope you like my cards for today.  See you tomorrow.
