CCEE1626 Mixed Media

Vicky'l last challenge is to use mixed media.  She says this is a real challenge to her, and it is to me too!

I had started this tag ages ago, and completely revamped it for this as a mixed media.  I used two different stencils, using spray distress ink and then gesso.  I added the rest on top.  That's about as mixed as I get!

CCEE1625 Birds

Vicky says...

"I cannot tell a fib!  As most of you know, I love birds.  Let's use birds on our cards this week... Crazy Birds, real birds, cartoon birds ... whatever trips your trigger!  One, two, a flock ... it's your choice.  Show me those birds!"



I used Crazy Birds, and a sentiment from Tim Holtz as well.  The bg I made using mustard seed, marmalade, and peeled paint, spritzing with water.  I also used my die cuts on the birds, their beak, eyes, and wings.  It's a business sized envelope card.  I don't make many this size, but I wanted to add the three birds as I've seen them.

Nathan's Photos!!

Here are the two photos our grandson Nate took, and gave us.  I just had them framed, and they are on the dining room wall.  He just graduated from college with a double major, Business and Photography.  These photos were taken at night with long exposures, and are gorgeous!!




The top one was taken in a state park, the bottom one in Gloucester MA.

I'm posting these, not only with pride, but to show them at Splitcoaststampers where I made a card with the wrapping paper from the framer.  The challenge today was to use trash.  Here's the card (and it will go to Nate, who loves mail, even at almost 22), and saves all my cards (how special is that??????)

CCEE1623 Donald Duck Day

Vicky says:  Donald Duck has been around since 1934.  Let's celebrate Donald by using a duck...real or imaginary, extra points if  you use Donald or any other fictional duck on your cards.



I have always loved this teeny stamp of the cutesy duck and the sentiment I put with it.  No Donald or extra points for me today!

Confirmation Day

Today our grandson Tommy is being confirmed.  His mother, my daughter, posted a picture of him at his first communion:

This was taken at the house, and Dad couldn't wait to change into shorts!  Boy was he fast!!  We had a great day!!

CCEE1622 Rocky Road Ice Cream Day

Our hostess for this month is Vicky Gould.  Here is her first challenge:

A day dedicated to the eating of Rocky Road Ice Cream!!!  A dessert made from chocolate,  marshmallows, nuts and an ice cream flavor.  Let's celebrate this popular ice cream by adding a dessert to our cards......use an ice cream cone, sundae, or any other Rocky Road dessert you can think of.  Let's get yummy!
