A Two-Fer on Monday

Here's the card I made for the Technique Lover's Challenge today..........the theme was WOVEN RIBBON.

Of course I chose to use RED, and since I am on to making Christmas cards, the olive background was a MUST.

I love this adorable snowman holding the bird.  If you click on the card, you can see the bg embossing of the Holiday EF.
Here's the collage card I made for the Clean and Simple Challenge today at SCS.

The images are all from Rubbernecker Stamps:

500 - Garden Phrase Set
615 - Grunge BG - Paint Splattered Screen
645-01 - Collage Floral Set 1
534-03 - Music, Time, Bikes - Watch Set 3
644-01 - Collage Pattern BG 1

I used the wonderful colors of Autumn - marigold, pumpkin, rust, and thyme.

Have a safe day!

I'll Have a Pink Christmas

No blue Christmas for me!!

I really like Christmas cards in non-traditional colors, like PINK and BROWN.
I had a visit from a friend yesterday, and we were talking about how we would like to be remembered.  She said she wanted to be remembered as "admirable".  Not bad.  I had a tough time with this idea, but I guess "crazily spontaneous" would fit.  No one EVER knows what to expect of me (and that's the way I like it!).  Add an idea for yourself if you comment today.

CCEE1243 Challenge - Tag

Our hostess Brenda (Benzi) made her last October Challenge - a card or project with a tag.

I made a tag out of black cs, punching the end with a web.  The tag has ribbons through the hole, and the ghost (Sizzix) holds a spider on a single web.

Please join us every Thursday, linking your card HERE.

Merry Snowman

WOW.  The sketch today was pretty involved.  Mom and I had to decide whether we wanted to do this or go food shopping.  We really didn't want to go, so here is our entry for today.

We like the way it came out, but will probably not do this design again!!

Had a SUPER day yesterday with Uncle and Cousin.  He was celebrating his 82nd birthday, and Julie came up from AZ to be with him.  We gabbed for four hours, slipped in a little lunch and cake, and sang to him in our fashion.

Enjoy your day.  Thanks for joining me here.

CHF12 Challenge

Today our hostess is Steph Ackerman.  She has challenged us to make a Fall card, or one using Halloween colors.

Not only did I use the colors, but went with the theme as well.

The Cornish Heritage Farms image is:
        owl 1074 - Digi

If you would like to play along with us of course we would love to have you! AND - if you do, you could win a $10 Gift Certificate and a Winner's Badge to put on your Blog!

To play create a card using CHF images. You can use either CHF digi or rubber stamps to create a card or project.... anything you like as long as the stamps are Cornish Heritage Farms. (Yes, they can be older stamps.)

Once you have created your card/project come  here and place a comment with a link to your card/project to this post so that we can see what you created. If you upload your card/project to SCS don't forget to include the keyword CHF12. We can't wait to see what you create!

Monday Challenges

We went to visit our grandson Nate at college yesterday.  We took him to brunch, saw his dorm and room (complete with asleep roommate Eddie!), messy of course (the room, that is), and had a wonderful time with him.  I guess that visit prompted this card today.  It would be perfect for him.

Then, in the afternoon, we camped out in front of the TV to watch football (Pat's won, but it wasn't pretty), then baseball (got tired and found out the Giants kept the NLCS alive this AM).

That's all we did.  We are a bunch of boring, boring people! (But it worked for us!) We did have snacks and wine, so it wasn't a total loss.

Thanks for checking in today.

NEW from Cornish Heritage Farms!

CHF has just come out with some wonderful new red rubber stamps!  One of them is a grouping of fun Christmas images and sentiments.  Check them out HERE!

This is a very simple shaped card that was made in honor of Claudia (cjzim), who is our Queen for the Day at SCS.

I still have that migraine, so that's all from me.......I was able to just do so much and no more. Seeya.

CCEE1242 Challenge

Brenda (Benzi), our hostess for this month, LOVES snowmen.  Her challenge to us this week is to make a winter or Christmas card, being sure to use a snowman.

I happen to love non-traditional Christmas colors........ and especially like blue (and RED, of course).  I really think the blue goes with snow, snowguys, and flakes.  I have even been known to make a RED gingham snow person a time or two!

Anyway, this is an offer to have you join us in the challenge this week, remembering to let us see your creation by linking it to our Blog here.  See you again next Thursday!

Santa

Here's a close look at the card I made today.  the Inspiration Challenge led us to Pier 1 Imports, where they have LOTS of Santas.

I used a Rubbernecker Stamp(209-07 Winter Holiday #4 Santa) for my image and sentiment.

The only thing you can't see well is the glaze on his glasses.  Trust me, it's there.  Have a great weekend!

CHF11 Give Thanks

Welcome back to the Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge!

This week our hostess, Jacqueline Smith, challenged us to make - In time for Canada's Thanksgiving - a give thanks card in RED and White.

I used CHF's digital image Daisy Trio (810-D), using the marker to rubber technique.  The bg is the Thanks EF from Cuttlebug.  I used a new nestie in RED, my old fence punch and an oval nestie.  Just had to add a RED ribbon too!

Please join us, linking your card HERE.  You just might win a $10.00 gift certificate for playing along, using your CHF stamps.

See you in two weeks with another fun challenge!

This image is also cut out of the box, which I love to do.

Halloween Humor

This is a card for our son who always has music with him..........I hope it gets a laugh!

The inside says "wrap".

It's also for the IC challenge today. Our site is called Magpie, and I took inspiration from a mug that had white, orange and gray circles.  Have a great weekend!

A Birthday and Halloween

Here's the card I made for today.........a rosette for the Free 4 All Challenge, and a case for our Queen for the Day, Denise (resqbarbie).

I learned something important.  When a rosette is very small, it's also very hard to turn.

I hope Denise likes the changes I made in her honor.
This is the card I posted yesterday.

It's a birthday card for our very good friend in PA, Elaine.  She loves dragons and cats.  She has two cats (Bill and Joel), and lots of dragon figurines that her cats leave alone!

I used a Rubbernecker image and sentiment from the set "Halloween Cats", and combined them with my favorite colors, of course.

I'll be glad when making Halloween cards is over....I sure miss making cards with LOTS of RED!

CCEE1240 Chipboard

Our Hostess for the month of October is Brenda, aka Benzi.  Her challenge for the CCEE is to use chipboard.

I used chipboard letters colored with a gold pen.  The bg is the Spider Web ef, and the ghost is a die from Sizzix.  All I did was pop up the ghosst and tie some ribbon on the "O".

Please join us this week, and every Thursday, linking your card HERE so we can see what you have done too.

It's Officially Fall! and NEWS!

Today is the last day of Red Sox baseball.  That makes it Fall in my book.  The leaves are changing color, and football has replaced baseball in this house.

My card is for the Sketch Challenge at SCS today.  I love this sentiment, and Kaleidacolor Pumpkin has the most fabulous Autumn hues!

Now to the news.............

I was asked to accept a position at CHF for the next year.  They chose seven of the original 20 to continue, and I was one! I accepted right away.

You'll be seeing more Cornish Heritage Farms images from me in a little while.  Please come back and check often!

Two cards for today

This card was made for the MMTPT challenge......to make a card with yellow.

This is in the mailbox waiting to be picked up this morning.  It's going to a lady in FL named Jean, who is a terminal cancer patient.  She loves yellow.

I hope this card brings some sunshine to her day!
This one is for the color challenge........purple, orange, green.

How could I pass up an opportunity to add to my stash of Halloween cards?

I used a wonderful die cut ghost and some die cut clouds as well. the grass and moon are punches.  I had some twine that just matched, and I think the BEWARE is the perfect sentiment.

Thanks for looking.  Have a fun day.
