Our FS is Shirley!!!

Congratulations are in order for Shirley (wannabcre8tive), my fellow CCEE team member!!

Shirley has a fabulous gallery.......and I say that because a lot of her cards are black and RED.  What could be better???????

I cased a card of hers that featured the Eiffel Tower, keeping the colors and layout, but changing the image to MFP's retired set, Welcome Home.

Mom and I are "batching" it today.  DH is in Providence RI, officiating at a Track and Field Meet.  He'll be gone all day.  Needless to say, we'll be in the addic...ahem....craft room for a bit, then DS and family will descen...ahem.....visit.

Have a fun rest of the weekend.  Hugs to you all!

Turquoise Inspired Love

Can you tell I love this new set from MFP, "Love Remains"?????

This card is for the Inspiration Challenge at SCS, and the Vera Bradley napkin that inspired it is there for you to compare.

It's also for Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge #92, to use at least 4 layers.

Today we celebrate our youngest grandson John as he turns 11.  Time flies!! After visiting and presents, we'll go to Tom and Cheryl's, as usual, for dinner and cards.  A fun day planned.  Have a good one.

Chocolate Rose

For two challenges today, the Free 4 All and QFTD.

The colors for the Free 4 All are chocolate and kraft in honor of National Chocolate Cake Day.  There's a day for everything, and it's hard to think of a better one to celebrate!!  I'm sure by now you're sick of seeing RED, so this is a nice change.  The colors are really pretty together, don't you think?

Our Queen today is Toni, one of my Partners in Crime...ahem.... Partners in Craft!!  Her gallery is just full of beautiful cards.  I cased one with pink sweet peas, and changed very little.

Rain today, and it's very dark.  Our accountant and his wife (also an acct.) are coming this morning, and we always go out to eat at our favorite Gin Mill (LOL), then come back and talk $.

Have a great day.  Hugs to  you all!

CCEE #1204 Australia Day

Frances told us that she is celebrating Australia Day.  Our theme is to use their colors (green and gold), beaches (for their gorgeous beaches), thongs (shoes, not unmentionables), or an animal found only there.

Obviously I chose the kangaroo.  I made a gatefold card, with ribbon, heart brads, and googlie eyes.  I think this will be perfect for one of my grands.

Please join us this week, and be sure to link your card here.  See you again for another challenge next Thursday.

A Valentine, I guess

This didn't start out as a Valentine......but with the punches and the RED, I guess it became one.  Now I have to go count and see how close to  the 40 I intend to send I really am.

A quiet day today.....starting off with a headache, so I think we'll have some kind of weather change.

Have a wonderful day.

A Single Bud

The color challenge today has my favorites, RED and black, with a little green thrown in.

The dessert feature was to use two different embossing folders.  They show up really well against the black, don't they?

This is all for today.  We are off to Mom's, packing up stuff.  Lots of stuff to pack!!!

Have a fun day.  See you tomorrow.

Be Well for 2 challenges

For both the TLC and CAS today.  Great colors, and inspired by Belleek.

I always need get well cards.  In fact, DD told me this morning her DH was home sick in bed.  This card will NOT go to Tom.  I'm sure I have something more masculine for him!!!

This morning we watched the sports channel, since the talk was all about the football games yesterday.  We are really happy the Patriots won, and not so sure we are all that glad about the Giants and Eli.

In two weeks, watching the Super Bowl will be a stressful time for us.  We will eat and drink, yell and scream, and are hoping against hope for our guys to perform better than they did yesterday.  Fingers, eyes, and everything else crossed!!!!!!!

Have a great day.  Have fun.  Hugs to you all.

Valentine Bud for Kim

Our very own MFPDT gal, Kim Hahn (Luv Flowers) is the Featured Stamper on SCS today!!  Yay Kim!!

Kim has a wonderful gallery, just full of beautiful cards.  I cased one of them, changing the theme to Valentine's Day, and of course the color had to be RED.

Today has already been busy.  DH and I went grocery shopping this morning, I repackaged all the meat, made chili in my crockpot, and for the rest of the day we'll be watching football.  Go Patriots!

Dinosaur Birthday

Our Inspiration site today is Land Of Nod, where you can find all sorts of items for children - from bedding to toys.

I chose a dinosaur.  I had to make a birthday card for a person who is turning 70 shortly.  It will only say Happy Birthday inside.  No use rubbing it in more than that.  He will get it.

To those of you who came here this week to check out the MFP Blog Hop, thanks.  I hope you enjoyed seeing the new images, and what can be done with them.

We are having snow this morning.  Third time in a week.  It hasn't been winter here until now, and next week there will be more, followed by 50 degrees.  Weird.

We'll be inside all weekend, watching the snow, and then the football games.  If you can, root for the Patriots with us.  Hugs.

CCEE 1203 Chinese New Year

Frances Byrne continues to be our hostess this month, and her theme is Chinese New Year, the Year of the Dragon.  Our alternative was to use the animal for the year we were born.  Since mine is the Monkey, and all my monkey stamps are tiresome, I decided to use a Dragon, and found a FABulous one!!  Here's my card for this week's challenge.  The background is gold, so taking a good photo of it was out of the question.  Believe me, it's there.

Please go to our BLOG and see what the rest of the team has done with this theme, and check back next week on Thursday again! Bye!

Valentine Kitty

For two challenges today.

Got a big mess in my craft room..........off to clean!!

DH is having a conference call shortly, so this is it for Mom and me today.

We are still basking in the Patriots win, had a great weekend.

Have a good one.

Gold Rose

The inspiration challenge today took us to Polyvor, an interesting clothing, jewelry, and art site.  I chose a gold and black piece of artwork to inspire me.

This is a sneak peek of "Love Remains", a new set from MFP - A Heinrich Co.  It's one of four sets that will be released in a blog hop on Tuesday.  I hope you'll come here to see the samples I've made.

This afternoon we'll be camped out in front of the TV to watch football.  I know I can't ask those of you in Colorado to root for our Patriots!  We both hope to win, of course.

Have a great day.  Hugs to you all.

Casing Judy

This card is in honor of JDK, Judy, our QFTD at SCS.  I cased a beautiful card of hers, and I hope she likes what I did.  It's also for the Free 4 All, a warm/cold Valentine.

I used a new set from MFP - A Heinrich Co that will release next Tuesday in a Blog Hop.  Join me here for "Love Remains", and three other new sets.

Off to see our Financial Advisor this AM - DH turns 70 on Valentine's Day, so we gotta get some affairs in order.  Mom goes to the hairdresser this afternoon, and those are the plans.

Have a great day.  Hugs to you all.

My First CCEE Post!

Imagine my surprise and excitement when I was asked to join the CCEE Challenge!!  The ladies who do this one are FABULOUS!!!

The first one for me uses a sketch:

..... and here is the card I made with it:

It should be no surprise I used my favorite colors combination.  Another Valentine to add to my stash!

In the weeks to come, please come here on Thursdays for the weekly CCEE challenge, and be sure to check out all the cards from the design team HERE.

Peeking Pansy

Here's a sneak peek of a new set that will be introduced next week on Thursday with a BLOG HOP.  Please come here to see the new MFP images!

This from the set called "Sending Happy Thoughts".  It's also for the sketch challenge on SCS today.  I flipped it so the buttons would be on the side, but felt the corner was a little empty, so I added a die cut and gem.  If  you hate it, please tell me.  I just wasn't sure.

It's a beautiful day.  Sun is shining, and we have no set plans.  Back to the addict....ahem......craft room.  Hugs to you all.

Color Challenge and a Sneak Peek!

Do you have any idea how happy I am when the Color Challenge involves RED?????  In addition, we were to use pink and blue.  Check!  The dessert for today was flowers, and if you look VERY closely, there are flowers in the wallpaper.

I was delighted to be able to use the window die that arrived yesterday.  I saw so many beautiful cards in the gallery using it, I just had to send for one.  This group is so enabling!!   We end up making each other spend money....... but boy! do we have fun!

The word LOVE is from a new set from MFP - A Heinrich Co. that will be released next week, along with other sets.  This one is called Love Remains, and has some really pretty heart images.  Be sure to look here for the BLOG HOP starting next Tuesday.

Have a wonderful day.  Mom and I are crafting..... no jobs for us other than having fun.  Have fun too.

Combined CAS and TLC for Monday

Here's a simple little card for today.  I used a Die Cut (heart) for the CAS, and stamping in the die and stamping the sentiment over the image for the TLC.  Easy peasy!

Busy day today...... chiropractor, haircut, lunch out, and it's only 1 PM.  Mom and I made two cards this AM, this one, and one for a new challenge, the CCEE.

Yesterday I was asked to join the group, and I was so delighted to join in!  I made me first challenge card, and preposted it on their BLOG and mine.  It's due to come out on the 12th, so be sure to be here to see it.  I think it's one of my best cards to date!!

Have a great day, see you later in the week.

Valentine Clock

Here's my card for today.  It does dual duty......... for the IC3318 at SCS and for Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge using brads or eyelets at MFP.

Still in the Valentine mode, Mom and I made this almost entirely with the cb - Sizzix, Bosscut, and Provocraft parts.  The only stamping was the face of the clock (Magenta), and the words (M's).

The little cherub is a teeny punch from M's too.  I think it makes a great addition, if a small one.

DS and family coming this afternoon for Football, dinner, and cards.  He is healing up from his hip surgery, and will go to school on Monday.  I'm sure he'll be glad to go.  He's been so bored!

Have a great weekend, and be sure to join Speedy the Fox's Challenge.

Two for Queen Wendy

Our Queen for the Day is Wendy Weixler, who surely deserves to be honored for her beautiful cards, and fabulous layouts.

I combined the challenge with the F4A which said:
Use a 3-D flower
A gem or gems
Embossing Folder
Die Cut/Punch
And DP or patterned paper.

This one fits all the categories.  I made this second.  Look below, and you'll see the first one I made.

Here is the one I made, totally forgetting to add the designer paper.  I love it, but I was afraid the challenge police would be after me.

After this card, I took Mom to the hairdresser, then we met DH for lunch.  When we got back I made the first to satisfy all the original requirements.

Truth be told, it gave me a chance to case another of Wendy's wonderful cards.  I hope you like them both. (I sure hope she does too!)

Yellow Crocus

I love this set, Winter Crocus, from MFP - A Heinrich Co.   It really works in all colors. You may think I've gone crazy with two yellow cards in a row, but if you check out my gallery, you'll see I did two RED cards that I didn't post here.

I think maybe WINTER has arrived.  Frost today, and bitter.  Mom and I ventured out to Michael's and Joanne's yesterday, and it was windy, but not as cold as today.  We had money, and gift cards, but came home with nothing.  Either everything was picked over, or we just have too much.  No, everything was picked over.........we couldn't possibly, well, you know.

Have a great day today, and stay warm.

Lemonade in the Future

This card is a future beverage, lemonade, if I stop feeling lazy!  The challenges this morning were to make a card with a beverage (for the CAS) and the inspiration for the TLC was WET.  I guess this will pass muster.

Spent all of yesterday in front of the tv watching football........today will be the same.  Just got back from the Chiropractor, for an alignment of that rib.  Doesn't feel better yet, but it was just done.

I think I'll pass on the lemonade after all, and go straight to wine!!  Have a good one!
